Separation before divorce? Thanks! Just feels less "real" talking to people for advice than stepping in a lawyers office! | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/01/24 09:58 PM
Separation before divorce? She does, I would basically just cover mortgage Our finances now are split and she pays utilities and cars and I pay mortgage and daycare and my school loans and insurance and gym | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/01/24 09:40 PM

Separation before divorce? To be clear, in case this matters I would maintain like 80% custody in New residence. My wife physically can't be main custodian due to schedule (and passed that haven't for 3 yrs) So I would move out but daughter would stay with me most the time And I know I would take financial hit which I could avoid, but I can swing it and I think it would be worth it (maybe not is why I am asking) | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/01/24 09:03 PM
Separation before divorce? To be clear on my thoughts I would still mostly maintain custody in the new resident My wife simply cannot be primary caretaker due to schedule. So I would rent nearby house and daughter would stay with me 80% of the time | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/01/24 09:01 PM
Separation before divorce? Why not? Apparently in VA you have to live separate for a yr anyway before divorce. If she wants she can have the house and take the equity for giving up claims on my 401k (our main assets) Why doesbthis matter? I should note house is in both names but mortgage only mine | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/01/24 08:45 PM
