I beat a friend at running, he acknowledged it like a champ. But he didn’t like it. Some other time I hip thrusted more weight than him, he was clearly embarrassed. I’ve beaten my boyfriend at shooting (with a bb gun) every time we’ve played. The first time he was butthurt - even said no woman had ever beaten him in any sports, his dad told him that was sexist - but now he’s come to realise I’m definitely better than him. I think he kinda likes it now, he’s always telling his friends I’m better …

Look at how he’s grabbing the girl in his picture by her neck!! That alone is a HUGE red flag!

My ex would do that. When I told him it was close to rape HE cried like a baby... He stopped doing it immediately but it was already too late, all my sexual attraction to him was gone. Still, I stayed with him for another 2-3 years, I thought I was doomed to a bad sex life forever - mind you, I was only 20 years old. I honestly thought I’d spend the rest of my life with this loser, smh. I’m so happy now that I broke up with him! I’m living my best life now, and my libido is back!

You should read the book “Attached ” by Amir Levine. It sounds like the guys you’re interested in are avoidant. Does this happen with all the guys you meet and show interest in?

80-85% of the times he texts first, I think it’s safe for me to initiate the rest of the times.

Exactly! I sarted asking myself “Are they good enough for me? Do I like them?” Instead of saying “Am I good enough? Do they like me?” And it’s been liberating!

I’d keep the dates a bit shorter. It’s great that you got on well and spent 7h together, but it may feel like too much, specially for a first date. I’d try doing 2-3h dates, and then see if they’re still interested in going on another one :)

Yeah, I wouldn't include all engineers, but I would definitely include physicists! They think they are gods and that they´re always right (I'm a physicist myself and nearly all of my class mates were like this). It depends on what you've studied though, if you're an engineer/scientist too then they'll treat you as an equal, that's how they've treated me at least.

Yeah, that’s what I told him. That we can’t keep in contact, that when you lose a partner you lose a friend too. He’s not narcissistic, but he’s too attached to me, he needed me for everything - wanted my opinion on the emails he wrote, I helped him with uni, having a better friendships, taught him how to cook and keep a balanced diet... I even moved to another country for an internship and brought him with me last year. Instead of going out and living his life, he just stayed home waiting for m…

Thank you, I needed this. I (23) broke up with him last month after a 5.5 year relationship where I felt like his mum and like I was always the one pushing him forward and making himself better (I even taught him how to clean a bathroom ffs!). He wants to keep me as a friend and says he is madly in love with me. I needed to read this, thank you.

OMG Same! I even configured my account to show me girls! The difference is abysmal. I’m gonna delete my profile before Christmas though.

True, UK cops don’t have free access to guns though. He doesn’t have a gun or any type of firearm, he’s the responsible of a little town outside a big city.

We were just talking about past relationships and he told me about the polyamorous one. It was face to face so no chance to block him straight away. Also, I’m not looking for commitment right now so I let it pass. I’ve been asking him questions and I’ve got a list written down with more. I’ve also investigated online, I’ve found out about a couple of things he hasn’t mentioned yet (never had the chance), so I’ll be vigilant and see if he lies or fails to mention them. He’s been sweet and very re…

I will take it into account, see what he thinks about violence and corrupt cops and everything. I’ll make a list with all the things I want to know, and I’ll ask everything in a casual way, without him realising I’m testing him. He’s got a master’s degree and I’d say he’s well educated and intelligent (I am as well), I don’t know why he’d want to be a cop. I’ll ask. We’re in the UK thankfully but I’ll ask about the US cops regardless. Thank you :)

Very very true, I will definitely tell him that I wouldn’t be up for a polyamorous relationship, in case I wanted a proper relationship with him. Thank you :)

Thank you. We’ve just been dating for 3 weeks so I haven’t had the chance to see him annoyed or frustrated yet. I’ve set my boundaries and rejected some of his advances a couple of times and he has been understanding and really chill about it so far. I’ll be vigilant and see how he behaves. I definitely don’t want a man baby lol Also, he’s told me he has been polyamorous in the past, but monogamous as well and that honesty comes above all. I’m not looking for a relationship just now, but just in…

Very true. I’m still not emotionally available as I recently broke up with my ex. So developing feelings for this guy is not on the table yet Vigilant how? Any kind of red flags I should look for - apart from the usual ones?

It’s not unreasonable at all!! I always make sure they know my stance on porn. The way I’ve done it in the past was just asking casually what they think about porn and then explaining my point of view. And finally asking them to not watch it because it makes me uncomfortable. Here’s a masterpost with really good links, facts and resources you can use: https://teannasterk.tumblr.com/post/157465738438/anti-porn-masterpost-feel-free-to-reblog-and-add

If they’ve got pictures with other people’s babies, swipe left. They are using an innocent creature for their personal gain, and I’m sure they didn’t ask for permission. Only pictures with friends? Swipe left, I’m not wasting my time to decipher which guy it is. They use the word “c*nt” in their bio? Swipe left. Pictures of them being drunk, with stained shirts...? If that’s the best they’ve got to show... then I’m not interested. Next.

Something like: “New to the city, I’m looking for friends to explore the city with. I like sports, going out for dinner and shopping “ 😊

Yeah true, I’m in my early twenties as well and I reckon sometimes people are older in meetup. There’s another app called Vina, it’s like tinder but for women and only for making friends, I’ve managed to make some frienss that way.

I use an app called a Meetup, you can easily find female-only groups. That’s actually how I’ve met my friends

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
