Sharing child care costs when my child isn't with meDo not pay. If you do, her lawyer will push for it to part of the agreement. Exes want you to pay for shit all the time. However, they never want to pay half of your cost. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/08/22 01:34 AM
Judge increased my overnights but refused to decrease CS. Can I get credits for that later and reduce CS amount ?You will not get your money back. The court LOVES taking, but giving is a different story. You will have to try to get CS modified with another court appearance. | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/07/22 03:44 PM
Dealing with nonsense TRO feels like an uphill battle. How do the courts even take these things seriously anymore? I used to see this nonsense constantly in the military too. A divorce happens and magically the woman acts like a tortured refugee. Then when the dust clears, she sits on alimony, child support, house, cars, and etc. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/07/22 02:10 AM
Can I ask the court to grant me more time with my son?If you’re in Florida, definitely bring it to court. I believe FL changed some of their family court laws to push heavily for 50/50. | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/07/22 10:57 PM
Contempt SummonsJust show proof of trying to make payments. I’ve dealt with 3 contempt summons since my divorce ended. Divorce is truly not the final chapter. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/06/22 04:39 AM
How long? The gym should be your best friend. You don’t need to go overboard, but it will take your mind off things. Plus you will feel better about yourself mentally as you look better physically. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/04/22 04:16 AM
GAL AdviceGAL suck ass. It’s basically another lawyer against you. Record everything and do not respond with anger. She will try EVERYTHING to piss you off. Block if necessary and once again do not respond with anger. | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/02/22 08:43 PM
Ex just asked me to split monthly child tax credit payments with her (USA residents). Don't know how I feel about it, and wondering if any of y'all have had this discussion? The answer is NO. | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/02/22 09:15 PM
Feeling guilty, emotional about decisionLeaving is the right decision. Document everything during this process. You truly cannot trust her behavior based on her mental disorder. Once again, record or document everything. If she flips out, all her hate is going to be launched at you and you should be prepared. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/02/22 06:57 PM
I feel rage insideShe will not answer for anything. You will always feel that rage. Try to move on and get therapy. If you keep remembering the rage, you’ll become a monster. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/01/22 02:10 AM
Bizarre LimboGet ready to spend another 20k. This is what they do. Bleed your pockets and emotionally damage you until you give in their demands. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/01/22 06:55 AM
Please help.Be like a monk. Calm, quiet, and maybe pretend to passive. If you do anything outside of this, your life will be ruined. She is setting up to bring you down HARD. I would change my passwords right away too. | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/12/21 06:24 AM
Question regarding divorce and VA DisabilityIt is usually when the divorce is finalized. The VA is notorious for taking forever to file paperwork. | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/12/21 04:59 PM
Why is my wife locking our bedroom door? Those false charges against you are coming fast. Stop feeling like the worst person because she is going to use that against you soon too. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/11/21 06:04 AM
Divorce after 60I understand now. I hope I didn’t come off as dismissive. Any conversation about divorce is tough. If she acknowledges your pain, but wants to do nothing, then it’s clear that she has given up probably without realizing it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/10/21 01:28 AM
Divorce after 60This may be the one time that I say stick it out. You have been married for a longer time than you have been single. How about you actually talk to her about your feelings? | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/10/21 05:27 AM
STBX wants divorce, told me I can keep the house.. please helpIf she told you not to worry about her income…worry. She is about to try to take you for everything. The best scenario is she maybe has found someone else and the dude has money. | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/08/21 07:19 AM
Domestic violation restraining orderEveryone is right in saying divorce her now. However, please ensure you cut off all contact with her friends and family. Communication with them will probably be used against you. Just helping since you sound desperate for reconciliation and that’s not happening. I gave you a Reddit award for good luck. You will need it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/08/21 02:53 AM
Freedom tastes weirdCustody is shared, but very weird based on being in different states. However, the kid is awesome. Custody was the biggest battle, yet I was able to show the courts that a kid needs a father as much as a mother. Document, document, and document/record is the only way to fight these battles. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/08/21 12:57 AM
Freedom tastes weirdWe have one kid. I pay child support which I am okay with. I just couldn’t live with the constant mood changes from my ex anymore. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/08/21 12:47 AM
Freedom tastes weirdThe Judge was tired of her shit. My ex quit 4 part time jobs in a year and complained she was struggling. She has a bachelors degree, certifications, and military experience. There is no way she needed alimony. I had documentation of everything. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/08/21 12:45 AM
Should I get a restraining order/something?Absolutely! The children are the number one priority. She is not your friend, lover, or even ex-wife. Think of her simply as an abuser and don’t lose focus on getting your kids. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/07/21 07:46 PM
Should I get a restraining order/something?I know it is tough to hear, but the most you can do is document and report. However, family court usually doesn’t care about men. They care about the welfare of the child and the feelings of the woman. Sorry for being so blunt. It’s been a long year for me. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/07/21 07:35 PM
Am I the victim or the villain? Help me understand. You’re a complicated human being. You hit her on more than occasion which is a huge NO. I hate to break it to you, but she was planning on leaving you for a long time. She already set up her “victim card”. She’s been abused before (sympathy will go far), took screenshots/recordings (setting you up to look unstable), and took the money/kid. Jesus Christ, hire a lawyer now, save money in another account, and pray to whatever god you like. This is not going to be a good ride for you. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/07/21 04:54 AM
Custody and StuffYou can try, but you need actual proof for why a psych evaluation is necessary. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/06/21 09:37 PM
Custody and StuffI don’t really know any podcast. I just have firsthand experience. My ex lied about me to the courts, stalked me, and harassed family/friends/classmates/co-workers. The police literally did nothing for me. The PO is from your wife, but I assure you that her friends and family already view you as the bad guy. People have selective memories about men being good fathers once a woman starts fake crying. I would suggest possibly recording any interaction if you do begin speaking to her. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/06/21 07:24 PM
Custody and StuffThey had this planned. The court will look at you like trash even with your “substantial evidence”. Get a lawyer and stop reaching out. Your ex is going to use that against you too and try to force a restraining order for stalking. Sorry for being so direct, but I want you to be ready for some bad shit. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/06/21 05:18 AM
Acknowledging The Pain - How?Never ask what the Mom is saying about you. It’s like grabbing a dagger to put in your own chest. A 12 year old will make their own decision about who is on the bad side of this. Just be a good father. Also, ensure all your passwords are changed and social media is blocked. My ex went through my entire friends’ list to harass and threaten them. Word of advice. | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/05/21 12:36 AM
Acknowledging The Pain - How?I wish you the best of luck in your time of need. I am guessing this is fairly new. She will continue to say terrible things and do much worse. Acknowledging the pain means knowing she is no longer your friend or partner. She is your enemy and it is her job to tear you down. Become numb to the soon-to-be threats, and harassment, and try to focus on the kids and your own personal growth. | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/05/21 03:25 PM
Should I get a restraining order/something?A restraining order will do nothing. Trust me! The police don’t care about stalkers until they physically harm you. Start ignoring her, blocking her, and ONLY caring about the feelings of the children. Treat your ex like a 2nd class citizen in your head and ignore their nonsense. It is pure manipulation on her side. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/05/21 12:32 AM
