Only because she was just 20 years old do I have the tiniest bit of sympathy, but I kind of hope she at least gets ELIGIBLE for parole on appeal after 25-30 years. But seriously, what the fuck.

The news outlet probably picked that photo for a reason.

I remember hearing about this. How old was she? Sexual experimentation in young children is normal.

You can argue that every choice you make is selfish in one way or another. Who are you to apply such a broad, judgmental generalization? You sound hurt that a loved one killed them-self, or just immature. Either way, no one cares what you have to say on the matter. P.S., having a mental disease doesn't make you a coward you fucking moron.

Why do you say that?

I'm a male who volunteers in sexual assault activism and I agree with the commentator above. I've never been called a sexist before for offering this view. However, this kind of thing rarely comes up in real life. It's about timing and context.

Plenty of OP's points are attractive to women, too

Great down to earth, no-nonsense post. I'll try some of this next time I'm single.

Whenever this happens to me it's anxiety related. And then it becomes a vicious cycle of performance anxiety leading to this problem. My advice would be slow it down, maybe drink a little bit, and have a partner you share more trust & intimacy with.

I don't know why this post is at 33%, it's the best advice on the sub right now. Women are going to be hit on dozens of pickup artists every week. And they'll often go after a guy who hasn't hit on them. Because although I hate to admit, women hold all the cards in dating.

I think it's counterproductive to think in binaries like "alpha/beta males."

Being funny and lighthearted - how could a girl not like that?

Sounds a little like paralysis by analysis. I'd focus on making sure I just have FUN on a date, and keep sex or whatever completely out of my mind. Own the moment, be confident (crucial.) You can only fake confidence to a limited extent. I'd say you ought to focus on loving yourself and coming to terms with yourself. Everything else will fall together after that.

From this post, it doesn't seem to me that's the case.

She told you exactly what she didn't like. Some women will fuck on the first date, others won't ever, and everything in between. It sounds like you were not perceptive of her comfort. I'm sure there were signs you were moving too fast.

Are you suggesting he should have forced or pressured her into having sex with him? Is there something wrong with you?

Here's a good one: compliment a girl on her makeup. Girls put a ton of effort into that shit, and for many it's their main hobby. I know this first hand because I also wear makeup but that's a different conversation.

When I first started dating I would drink a lot of coffee before hand to help me have the energy and focus to make good conversation. Just try your best to relax, have a few beers or something

Did you guys even read the article? In context, this cop's comments only highlight the actual, legitimate problem with rape in college campuses. Furthermore, who is a cop to question the legitimacy of a rape accusation? That is not his job, and his prejudice is seriously concerning.

The historical and contemporary oppression of women on a massive scale worldwide.

Fair enough, but that's still an overly broad generalization I think. I dislike many aspects of western women, but I still don't think pussy passes like free drinks at a bar or what have you even come close to all the things women deal with more often than men, like sexual harassment.

Being a man isn't easy, it's harder than being a woman. ...You guys don't actually believe this do you? Maybe in America, but on the whole, I really wouldn't agree. Hoping not to be downvoted simply for disagreeing.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
