Thanks. The appraisal value was low, which actually benefited her. So, really, the number we agreed upon then was beneficial to her. I just don't get where she feels she is owed more than what the numbers said. Unless she feels she is owed more due to martial strife or something. In that case, I should be the one getting money, lol.

Yeah, that is the problem. I think she's throwing the high number out given she knows I don't want to go to court. I will if I have to though. Would be great if they make her pay my lawyer costs once they find she is inflating numbers. I know that's not how it works though. And there is no merit. My only thought is that she has included the kids' 529 plans. They are under my name (I've been the one funding them and continue to do so) but we agreed not to touch them. But it wouldn't surprise me i…

Nope. I no longer see the point. If you want to be with someone, be with them.

Two years on and I'm still sleeping on the couch! One of their beds when they aren't here. I may get a nice cot eventually but it's honestly not that bad.

Yes. My ex has told my friends, her family, and probably my kids friends parents (based on the way they keep their distance from me now) what an awful, abusive, adulterous husband I was. It sickens me that all of these people have that option but I'm not going to fix it. I don't understand why she is still trying to inject sadness and depression into my life almost each and every day. I can be hanging out with a buddy and, if she knows about it, I can be guaranteed to get a nasty text from her t…

Yes. I wish every guy who is going to get married would read about stuff like this up front. Not nearly all women are like this but many are. And the warning signs are usually there well before marriage. We are just usually blind to see them.

There should most definitely be a waiting period when it comes to dealing with custody, assets, etc... I wish I had waited a year to start proceedings but my ex was pushing it. She just have realized that I was suffering from depression as I was desperately missing the kids. And she also still had me under control from the mental abuse/bullying (if that makes me wish, so be it). At one point she had me convinced I was failing as a parent and hurting the kids (I wasn't). But in any event, the med…

I think I'm a better father over a year into it, though I think I was always a good one. I've got my ex telling me that I'm a lousy father at every turn. But I'm managing to block it out more each day. I realize now it's just been constant mental abuse. And I figure I must be coming out the other side if I'm able to recognize it.

I'd just say keep your eyes wide open. On the other side, I realize how unnecessary marriage is. If you want to be with someone, be with them. But be extremely picky and don't ever feel like you need to get married or have kids. I'll tell my girls the same thing when they are older. Live your life how YOU want to live it, not your family/society/SO, etc...

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
