You know what, please take my ability to have sex whenever I want. It's never done me any favours.in fact. It led to various sexual assaults as a teen. But please tell me how this was actually great thst random adults would assault me before the age of 18. Yes I'm so happy to have had to pretend to be a boy and wear tracksuits and pretend to be a boy so I could leave the house after 9pm.

What about the Internet means you don't have empathy for 50% of the entire population? What about women means you don't understand they have lives and feelings? Genitals? Ability to have casual sex?

You're coming across as extremely angry In these comments. I would work on yourself before trying to have a relationship.

Very interesting comments. Thank you. I love having discussing like this that broaden my mind. I was reading a lot about mens rights subreddits but wanted to get a feel for the issues first hand rather than rely on biased rhetoric. Do we know that feminism is to blame for recent underrepresentation of men in university and worsening exam results? Are men ending up with worse earnings and prospects due to these worsening education stats? Are there more stereotypical jobs associated with men that …

I see -apologies. I misunderstood what you meant. So you meant that men don't support each other or encourage rapists. But is it a bad thing that women who have been raped or experienced harassment support each other?
/r/MensRights23/05/23 09:38 PM

I don't really understand what this has to do with rape culture though? Just because woman are more supportive of each other it doesn't mean male sexual violence isn't prevalent?

Thanks very much! Highly interesting. Are there any theories for why this is? Could women have more of a need for solidarity whereas men tend to compete with each other? Interesting about the relationship between male attitudes towards females and sexual experience. Could explain the incel phenomenon. Do we need to encourage women to realise this bias and counteract it? Or encourage men to have more positive feelings towards other men?

How could we change this issue that women aren't responsible for their actions? I guess a feminist might say this is because women are stereotyped as helpless and naive etc. Obviously the opposite view is to see it as women being favoured in courts. I think either way whether we come at this from a women's rights perspective or from a mens rights perspective it needs to change!

Exactly. There are horrible people in every group. So why demonise feminism when it has done so much good over the last 100 years? The way this post is worded makes it sounds like we are trying to find out who is worse? Feminists vs men's rights activists. This is the exact opposite of what should be happening.

I've read them and am totally willing to have my mind changed. I was replying to a ridiculous post arguing who is "worse" mens rights activists vs. Feminists with an equally ridiculous argument. Why the he'll are we trying to argue who has it worse rather than coming together to fix society? Blaming feminism is so unhelpful since its literally the reason I am even allowed to debate this with you guys.

Can you send some articles or scientific studies about this in-group bias. I'm intruiged.

Completely agree

I just meant the daily mail does not report things accurately at all and should be ignored. I don't think it's as simple as women being favoured. It's like why do black men get longer sentences as well? Is it as simple as white men being "favoured". Or is it way more complicated ?
/r/MensRights23/05/23 05:05 PM

If its gynocentrecism then surely female judges would favour women rather than the opposite? Also, there is no point linking a daily mail article in response to a scientific paper. Of course sex of the judge isn't the only factor, but it's interesting to think about. I'm all for advocating for sentencing equity. However, I want to focus on solutions to the issue rather than just blaming feminism with no solution in sight. Completely agree that the leap in the abstract about paternalism is ridicu…

Agreed. I haven't done enough research on any meta-analysis of this, etc. So it could be nothing or correlation rather than causation? Just interesting to think about and consider.

You think men don't ever have "lads nights" and that men don't talk stuff about women when women aren't about? Sorry but I really don't know if this is true at all.

I mean people claiming to be for "mens rights" have murdered people. Edit: so a few horrible feminists represent the movement, but a few mens rights activists who are evil don't? I see.
/r/MensRights23/05/23 02:40 PM

Yeah I wish there was more research on this! Most likely the age of the judge would make a difference as well? It is surprising that female judges tend to give longer sentences to women than male judges. I thought it would be the opposite too. Also interesting that political offiliation of the judge had no effect.

This is purely a US culture issue. Here in the UK I've never heard a woman want a man who is circumcised.

The way we can campaign to help men in the courtrooms is to have more female judges. studies have shown that the higher percentage of female judges the more equal sentencing etc. Is between the sexes! Edit: if anyone wants the source it's here https://www.journals.uchicago.edu/doi/10.1086/425597

And my argument is that before feminists got involved everything was even worse for everybody. Yes it may be outdated now but it was a good move at the time. Lawmakers are still majority male and feminists are not making all of the laws...

Yes it is because men are stronger. From strauss paper: "The exception to gender symmetry is that the adverse effects of being a victim of PV are much greater for women than for men. This can be considered a difference in context, but the fact that adverse effects are consequences rather than causes of PV needs to be kept in mind. Attacks by men cause more injury (both physical and psychological), more deaths, and more fear." However obviously the rest of his paper goes into detail about how dom…

Yet more women are getting arrested and charged than before for domestic violence.

Amber heard and Johnny depp case is not as cut and dry as you think. Hence him being found to be a wife beater in the UK ruling and the US ruling was for them both to pay damages to each other. Two very damaged people. Although might I add with one being much older and with much more power/money/celebrity.

The system before feminists intervened was even worse. Domestic violence was seen as a "fanily matter". Yes the time has come to move on but it was originally an improvement.

Yes he did get harassed by feminists. The data he is referring to where a greater proportion of women are getting arrested for DV, are after the dates of these laws passing. The duluth model is outdated agreed. My only argument is that feminism isn't to blame and feminism has overall been positive.

Direct quote from the paper if you want. "Arrests of women for PV have been increasing nationwide (Martin, 1997; Miller, 2001. In California between 1987 and 1997, the ratio of male to female arrests for PV decreased from 1 female arrest to 18 male arrests to a ratio of 1 female arrest to 4.5 male arrests (Deleon-Granados, Wells, & Binsbacher, 2006). The increase is not a result ofmore female PV, because rates of both fatal and nonfatal PV declined during this period (Catalano, 2006; Rennison & …

If you are trying to argue that throughout cultures and history men have actually been similarly/more oppressed than women then I don't even know where to go from here. Women couldn't even vote 100 years ago...

Domestic abuse is not as simple as "fighting back" and that will solve it... Many times they feel trapped and unable to. Are you saying that if only they fought back men wouldn't be victims of domestic abuse? And you really talk about "women" as one big group of evil abusers. I'm sure you would not be happy if someone said the same of "men". I'm saying that feminism helped male victims of domestic abuse just as much. Before feminists got involved no one even thought of domestic abuse being a cri…

The only thing stable throughout history and throughout every single continent was the oppression of women. Up until literally the last 100 years - and only in the West.

I think this is the most hilarious thread I've ever seen. Has no one here ever stepped out of their door? Most people end up in relationships- marriage is decreasing but many couples are cohabiting for many years and are essentially married. The concept or marriage is not natural for humans but a construct of society. However socialising and community/family units are natural. Lots of people are monogamous - yes even poor or ugly people. Casual sex is more based on looks. Maybe if a rich man wan…

Majority of women orgasm with clit stimulation also there are only nerve fibres the first couple inches of vagine. So anything larger isn't even causing much extra pleasure except possibly from the stretch

First off, how many people are never touching anyone their whole lives? That's a very small minority of people. But many women would rather have no sex at all rather than have a man masturbate into her and have no orgasm. Especially just random one night stands with no emotional connection. I'm assuming you are a man? Men don't usually have to experience this as the sex usually always ends in their enjoyment. If you spent years of your life having sex without orgasm you would get pretty frustrat…

Majority of women do not choose it. Men have more sexual partners on average. Check this out if you actually care about facts: https://datepsychology.com/how-many-sexual-partners-did-men-and-women-have-in-2021/ Some quotes: "15% of men report having not had sex within the year of 2021, while 22% of women had no sexual partners" "men report having had more sexual parnters than women at ranges above two partners. Approximately six times as many men (.60%) than women (.11%) report falling within 11…

Even if that were true, is that a loving relationship that apparently women achieve so easily which you first talked about? I think your problem is you think men and women think the same. As much as men wouldn't mind being a hot girls third sexual partner of the day - I would argue that the majority of women you talked to would not find that fulfilling at all. Equally you just sound jealous that women can have sex easier. The reason for this? Basic supply and demand my friend. There are always m…

Sex? yes. Good sex? No. A majority of women don't orgasm from one night stands so wtf is the point in that. Loving relationships? Well there are 2 people in a relationship so - if we discount non-hetero relationships for ease - shouldn't there be equal numbers of men and women in relationships? Just from basic math.

There is just as many single women about, but they don't want to bother with dating apps. Why do you think this is? Edit: ill give you a clue, most women are fed up with dating men and would rather be single

Is this not also the case for men and trauma? Should women also go for young males because they have less of it. Or only women can have trauma? Or only men care about trauma?

No way you've heard people argue for vasectomies for all men. Bullshit. This is posted in "political humour" and is obvious satire. Banning abortion is an actual possibility that affects womens bodies. Enforced vasectomies will never occur and you know it.
