feeling as though they don't deserve a HVM. I can't speak for others but I have internally felt sometimes that I have to compromise on other standards that I have for a partner because childfree men are very rare as it is

I don’t usually share personal details in my reddit but I think it’s important to be an example and to vocalize what a childfree yet committed life looks like. Totally agree. Thanks for sharing you story! I do tend to wonder if I will ever meet anyone who wants a serious relationship but not kids because all the childfree men I meet aren't serious relationship oriented and the men who do want something serious want kids in the future. I think my age (early 20s) may have something to do with it t…

I'm interested in marriage though, just not parenthood. As for partners? Yes, absolutely. I've had fantastic relationships with several CF men. If you don't mind me asking, what were the reasons for them ending?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy11/08/21 05:07 PM

A good filter Ive found is saying I will never have kids. Dudes who were totally fine not having kids will suddenly start up 20 questions of 'why not?', 'are you sure?', and 'not even someday?'. If they've shown themselves to be decent otherwise, this has served me very well. I don't know if I'm misunderstanding your comment but if they keep questioning why you don't want kids then isn't that a bad thing?

When my ex and I broke up we wanted to stay friends but as more time passed from the breakup, the less I wanted to keep a Friendship. I do not consider us friends. At most - acquaintances on good terms. I agree that there's really no good reason to stay friends with an ex other than common kids. My ex and I just follow eo on LinkedIn and a few other social medias (I actually have him muted on one because in the initial stages of the breakup it was too hard for me to see his stories). I saw a thread on another sub a while back that was discussing coffee/walk vs dinner dates. One dude literally said he prefers coffee dates so he doesn't spend hundreds of dollars on multiple women. He literally told on himself. Refusing coffee and walk dates is actually a good vetting strategy for this reason.

I don't share my standards with anyone for this reason. I've shared some with my friends but not all. I don't need to justify why I'll date or not date someone if it doesn't affect anyone other than me. As for my 'unhealthy' standards here they are: -regularly works out -abs and muscular arms (but not too much. I don't really like the bodybuilder type) -at least 5'8 -not fat but not skinny -either slight beard scruff or clean shaven. Not into the Santa beard look -has proper personal hygiene, sk…

Great post! If you really examine most tv show relationships with an FDS lens you can see how a lot of the couples in the media we are fed are not 'goals'. Another thing I've noticed is that whenever a couple is actually somewhat high-effort and high value, people consider them 'boring'. I think Chandler and Monica from friends are a good example of this. People in the friends fandom often call mondler boring and say roschel is better. The argument I see is that 'monica and chandler are stable a…

This is why I made a separate account to browse non-FDS subs. This account is only for FDS, it's sister subs, and a few other really small subs. I got tired of being trolled on random posts solely for being an FDS member. I still get annoying men coming at me in my DMs but what can I say? Trolls gonna keep trolling

Lol she actually reacted to this video on her Instagram story and roasted that scrote. Look at the 'Not a dog' highlights on her page if you want to see. Also if any mods are reading my comment, y'all should consider asking her the be on the FDS podcast if you do an episode specifically about high standards.

When will people understand that women paying for dates isn't gonna bring equality? It's not gonna dismantle the patriarchy or end misogyny. It's not going to change the world that we live in. I wouldn't have an issue paying every now and then in an established relationship but not because of 'equality' it's because I like doing nice things for my SO and that's part of it for me

I won't let this be me. I refuse to settle for a man who doesn't do his share of household chores. I think marriage with the right person could be a wonderful thing but I'm not gonna desperately chase men just because of that. I'll live my life until it happens if it does
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy12/06/21 01:35 AM
27

I totally agree. I think I'm blessed to live in the US for this reason because my parents have to suck it up and be open minded to the idea of dating or me marrying someone outside of my race. Arranged marriage is the norm for pretty much all my extended family except my cousins that moved out of India to the west
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy12/06/21 01:26 AM

This is one of the million reasons I'll never get an arranged marriage (I'm indian too). The type of men that are presented for it have little to nothing to offer a woman. One of my aunt's really complained that she couldn't find a match for her son and that the women were 'too picky'. Meanwhile her son aka my second cousin was hella overweight and couldn't hold down a job

Porn issues aside, if a woman is willingly having sex with a man then he is desirable to her. At least that's how it should be because why the fuck would you have sex with someone you're not attracted to?

I have strong opinions on my dating standards and part of that is thanks to FDS. I've casually mentioned some of them to my girl friends and they agree with some. But others end with heated conversations. For example, when I said that men should make the first move and propose for marriage, one friend got super defensive and said that 'it's not a man's job'. Sure maybe it's not but countless anecdotal evidence proves that women making the first move doesn't lead to quality relationships. Anyways…

When will they understand than matches != Boyfriends. I've gotten hundreds of matches on tinder and bumble individually. A lot of them never bothered messaging or stopped replying after a few messages. Maybe 20-30 guys asked to move to a different form of communication besides the dating app. And then around 10 guys asked me on a date. And then literally 0 of those situations turned into relationships. Sure if I used dating apps long enough and met enough men I could probably get a boyfriend but…

Also I think not using OLD allows people to develop better social skills because you're not hiding behind a screen. I know it's easier said than done and I'm not perfect myself but I think pushing myself out of my comfort zone to expand my circle will be a more fruitful experience

Except my best friend and my boyfriend are encouraging me to accept him and if he reaches out to rekindle, to reject him for humor. While I understand their sentiment, I don't think you should do it. What are you going to gain out of it? It just seems like a waste of time in my opinion. I'd say just decline his request or block him if you want and then move on with your life

I will say it doesn't have to do with attraction alone, but with socialization. I'm not straight and most my friends are attractive women. I'm still perfectly capable of having platonic friendships with women I find attractive - even those who are attracted to women. I wasn't raised to see them as objects I'd be entitled to have, and I can respect them enough to not picture them in wet t-shirt contests or other sexually charged scenarios. They're just people whose company I enjoy without needing…

Totally agree with everything you said. And I know you didn't mention anything about OLD but I believe this is another reason to NOT use OLD. These types of men are very likely to be on dating apps - they may have a friend or two to help them or they may get good clothes from homeless shelters to put on a fake persona. If you stick to dating men irl then the chance of running into a hobosexual is very low

Men (and women but especially men) would have to put in more effort than what is currently required on dating apps such as providing proof of employment, income information, etc. They should basically prove that they are not deadbeats and they are constantly working on improving themselves. Ideally it would be a dating app of solely HVM and HVW. But it's probably much better in theory than in practice bc people might just find a way to lie about everything

I'm not vegan but vegetarian and I do think it's a good vetting tool (not foolproof tho). If a guy asks strange questions like 'if you were on an island and the only way to survive was to eat meat then would you eat it?' then to me that shows discreet disrespect for an aspect of my lifestyle. Then of course there's more obvious red flags such as pressuring you to eat non vegan/vegetarian foods or even worse, tricking you into it

I deleted tinder and bumble several months ago. I don't want to go back to those or ever try another dating app again. But I can't say with full certainty that I'll never feel the temptation again. Hopefully I stay strong and stick to being OLD-free 🤞 I feel like a sex dispenser when I'm on those apps. I truly despise OLD for turning humans into commodities. I come from a culture where matchmaking is common as well (Indian). I haven't gone through it nor do I ever intend to. But I can speak based on observation of my extended family members. Matchmaking is just as bad as OLD in my opinion but the area where matchmaking has an edge over OLD is that you're more likely to match with someone well educated and financially stable. She's an influencer who posted a video about how she won't go on coffee or walk dates and then some sub that posts cringe content posted that video and that post made it to the front page of reddit hence her ending up on TYT and random news pages

I feel you. I'm slowly learning to accept that being single forever is a true possibility for me. I think I'm doing much better with it now compared to a year ago. I'm still open to being in a relationship with a HVM but I don't want to let it consume me because that's not good for my mental health. My attitude towards dating now is 'if it happens it happens, if it doesn't it doesn't'. Being single isn't bad at all if you have other things to enrich your life with like a career, hobbies, friends…

Men with immigrant parents are entitled too but in a different way. My perspective is solely about Indian-American men since I'm Indian-American myself. A lot of Indian-American men are mamas boys who had everything done for them growing up. They don't have basic life skills and they expect their girlfriends/wives to do everything for them. Not only that but they don't have a fucking backbone. If their parents were to disapprove of their partners then these men aren't the type to stand up to the…

I hate OLD bc it's mostly shallow men looking for a quick fuck and dating multiple guys at once stresses me tf out (you don't HAVE to do that but when I was using OLD that's just how it ended up happening for me). So by population distribution, what I mean is geographic population distribution. It's becoming more common in the west and in countries like Japan for people to opt out of having children so naturally the population in those places will steadily decrease. But in areas of the world where there's no such trend, the population will just increase the way it always has been. I never understood why reddit hates FDS so much. All we do is preach high standards, focus on identifying red flags and lift each other up to be the best possible women we can be. I agree. I've had no problems attracting men in general. But finding men want a serious relationship with me has been next to impossible. They tend to lean more towards casual sex/FWB. People are so quick to say women have it easier in terms of dating because we get more swipes on dating apps.. when in reality it is simply just easier for us to get sex. Not a meaningful, committed, serious relationship.

The men that are that way is because that is exactly how they want it. They don’t want the responsibility and they want to have casual sex forever. Literally this. Childfree men I've met irl are also relationship/marriage free. They just want no-strings-attached hookups/ONS/FWB
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/05/21 09:28 PM

I used to watch porn myself before I learned how harmful it is. Same here except it was me tryna get into it bc people around me were but I could never really whole heartedly like it. Do universities feel bad about rejecting students who do not meet their requirements? Do realtors feel bad about not selling homes to people who don’t have the money or proper background? I recently realized that my life lacks women friends. I have a few close women friends but not a lot. Most of my friends are guys bc I'm in a male dominant program at college. I'm Indian-American and I am strongly against arranged marriage. I believe it is a system that benefits men. Literally if it didn't exist these men would probably never get married just bc of how LV they are. Not only that but I don't like the amount of family involvement there is in the whole process, everyone and their sister will know about you meeting a certain match. It may not be a forced marriage but it is a pressured marriage.

Either he definitely has an STD but doesn't want to reveal it or he's a literal manchild who can't independently take care of his basic needs, possibly both. I don't see what you have to gain from this situation. Make sure you look out for yourself and your health. I usually make it clear from the get-go that I will not have sex with a guy unless he gets tested. It hasn't been an issue so far but if it becomes one, then that tells me everything I need to know.

I'll never sit around waiting for a man to respect me. If he doesn't respect me to begin with I'm out bc I respect myself enough to walk away

Right? I'm tired of being looked at as a weirdo because I only want to have sex within a committed relationship. Straight up that's a controversial opinion in the real world now, at least in my experience

The comments in this thread and in other reddit threads I've read before make me never ever want to get on birth control.

That's a good idea although my parents think online dating is weird so they'd probably be more annoyed that I'm on the app in the first place

I saw a post on unpopularopinion the other day about FDS. The OP was saying the sub isn't as bad as people claim and then people in the comments as always were criticizing the fuck out of it. One dude literally linked posts from this sub that were literal MEMES. He was mad that we make generalizations about "all men".

Is it? I thought the "correct" definition was a man who keeps pursuing a woman who's clearly not interested in him

People don't even know how to properly use the word 'simp' anymore. Any man who treats his woman with respect and shows her love is automatically labeled a simp

I don't plan on even dating someone who isn't financially stable. I don't necessarily care that they make 6 figures or something but they should at least have their shit together financially - being able to take care of their monthly expenses while still having leftover money for occasion luxuries. I refuse to be held responsible for someone else's debt

I've done clapbacks at LVMs before. Never again. Those mfs do not care. In fact I was making a fool of myself for continuing to pick at the situations when I should have just let it go then and there

The other day some LVM was arguing with me on TwoXchromosomes about abortion... Yeah like rachel in F.R.I.E.N.D.S said, "no uterus no opinion". Seriously why do men think it's okay to have a say in issues that affect women?

I hate the notion that not wanting your SO to watch porn is "controlling". I feel very hurt if a guy I'm dating watches porn bc he is literally fantasizing about sex with other women while being with me. It's basically just mental cheating

The other thing that helped was taking a hard look at the realities of motherhood with an unsupportive partner. I now really and truly understand that parenting with a LVM would be MUCH worse than never having kids at all. I'm childfree for many reasons but this is one of them. If I inadvertently married a horrible person and had a kid with them then I would be tied to them forever whether I liked it or not (even with divorce) bc he'd be the child's father. No thank you, when I want to be done w…

Plus, men have very high standards for a girlfriend or wife as well; the only difference is they’ll keep using other women for sex while they look for her. Disgusting. Exactly! This is why I feel so offended when a guy I know asks me to do FWB. He's basically saying "hey you're hot and I would totally fuck you but you're not good enough to be my girlfriend". Yeah fuck that, I am girlfriend AND wife material. But if a guy can't see that he doesn't get to see my body either. Sex with me is a privi…

They're obviously threatened that they don't meet said woman's standards. Do they realize that there are women out there whose standards they DO meet? It's really not that deep cuz at the end of the day I only want to be with one person so obviously standards will be sky high

I agree with this concept but I also think the first date isn't the best indicator of whether or not a man is HVM or LVM. I've had LVMs take me out to dinner at a fancy restaurant and they were the ones who initiated and planned it. The important thing is to keep vetting after the first date and not assume that they're "such a great guy" because they impressed you with a nice date. I made that mistake

Instead of asking “do you watch porn?” (they are more likely to lie, especially if you have told them beforehand that porn is a dealbreaker for you), ask “what porn do you watch?” And watch them spill their guts. Personally, I would avoid telling a man upfront that porn is a dealbreaker for me because the risk of them lying is too high. I think this is a great strategy not only for vetting for porn addicts but also figuring out if they have other qualities which would be dealbreakers. Putting th…

I've sent some of the stuff from this sub to one of my close friends and she agrees with those things. But for the most part I don't go out of my way to educate everyone. I don't have the energy to try to change other peoples opinions about feminism. It's simply not my priority. I'll approach dating my way, they'll approach it their way.

Cats have been culturally linked in the west to the feminine aspect for centuries, it's some very deep psychological conditioning. This is true. When I was VERY young I used to think all cats were girls and all dogs were boys. Also as for the cat hatred from men, the most common argument I've heard is "cats are evil" and they don't even explain why

I need to get better at this. I do it more than I'd like to admit and it makes me sound unsure of myself when in reality it's in my natural instinct to not offend someone. Ive done this when explaining to a guy that I'm not interested in going on more dates w him, I'll usually say something like "I don't THINK I really see this going in a romantic direction". I don't think, I KNOW, I'm just too wimpy to be assertive :/

Too many women have been indoctrinated by Disney to believe that the ultimate fairytale for women is to find "the one" and then live happily ever after. I hate to admit that I'm one of these women. I remember watching disney princess movies as a little girl and wanting to find my "prince" and then as I got older, romcoms became my new standard. Then when I started meeting guys from OLD, I realized what a disappointment men can be. But later on I was able to get into a relationship with a guy I m…

I honestly like this sub. I don't see eye to eye with EVERYTHING that is posted on here but I have found some advice to be very useful and I do see myself using those parts when I'm dating in the future. Also, literally everything that I've read about this sub on other subreddits such as r/ unpopularopinion and r/ changemyview has proven to be false based on my experience of being subscribed to FDS for the last few months. Idg why men are so salty about there being a female-only space when there's millions of subs where they can comment. Men don't understand issues women go through so it's not their place to constantly interject their opinion. There's other female-centric subs where they can do that if they desperately want to anyways

She's right. So many women (including myself in the past) expect some hypothetical perfect man to bring them happiness. Of course if you're in a relationship it should only be with a HVM who makes you happy but happiness shouldn't solely be dictated on external factors
