Thanks for all your replies, I really appreciate it. I'm in the UK and you can only claim benefits if you have less than £6k in savings. She has just realised that she has significantly more than that in Lifetime ISAs (tax free savings, you put in £100 and government put in 25% but you have to keep it in there until you are 60, you get severely penalised if you don't). Now she is complaining that was her future and why should she give her future away. It's ALMOST as though she has not thought th…

Yeah it is a real question. I do feel bad for her but she has just had bad advice.

Separated, in same house, in separate rooms. I have tried to make things work, sent her texts etc. I would like to make things work but is it because I'm trauma bonded? She was a great wife but it changed when she lost weight. All of a sudden, she "deserved more"and got addicted to male attention when she went out drinking.

No she is just addicted to going out and her friends telling her how beautiful and amazing she is and guys come up to talk to her.

I'm in the UK and don't have to pay Alimony. We have Spousal Support and she can only claim that if she maxises her earnings, which means going full time. Which she won't do. I have £300/$400 a month to pay child support and I don't mind that. The house should be split 50:50, which is what she is saying she wants more.

I just don't know how I am meant to act or how she expects me to act. Like she phoned in sick from work yesterday and I didn't check on her. And then she said she expected me to check on her. She broke down on the floor crying earlier tonight and I did put my arm around her but I don't know if that is wanted or not. For me, my priority is my kids and myself. I do care about but at the end of the day, she has said she wants to split up. So am I meant to still care about her? Be there for her if s…

I've been advised by my solicitor not to move out as it will complicate things even more. We do have two young kids. The thought of fi ding someone else scares the shit out of me but also, I am looking forward to some peace and banging pros. I'm just trying to grey rock her as much as I can.

I don't know to be honest. I have to say it has been a happy marriage 90% of the time. I always put her and kids first and didn't do anything for myself, thinking I was keeping her happy. Since I have been doing things for myself, it has triggered something in her. I don't if all of a sudden I am more attractive to her, I don't know.

6 months ago, I would have thought you were absolutely out of your mind. But I have seen that exact behaviour in my stbxw and F, exactly same. F was unhappy and misery loves company, so she made stbxw unhappy, so she could go on spa days etc. It's just absolute bat shit crazy how friends can sabotage each other like this but I have seen it through the text messages between each other. Crazy crazy stuff.

Oh, F has filled her head full of absolute nonsense. I'm from the UK and F convinced her she was entitled to spousal maintenance, 70% of marital assets and all sorts. None of it is true. She is entitled to 50% and 0 spousal maintenance. F was unhappy with her life and husband, all her own doing, separated from him. And then convinced my stbxw that she was unhappy and deserved better and soon I wasn't doing enough for stbxw and needed to do better. Truth was, it was the stbxw who didn't do enough…

I don't know if she is seeing another man. She definitely went to a spa with her female best friend (let's call her F) , because I am friends with F's husband and spoke to him last night. Whether or not she is sleeping with F, I'm not so sure. F is the one who told me on Christmas Day that my stbxw is hot now and I need to do more for her and treat ex like a queen.

Yeah that's great thank you. I do have intimacy needs. If I go into town, the taxi there and back is as much as it would be to pay for it. Then you have drinks on top and it is so much hard work. I just fancy a quick shag and I think the best way is to pay for it.

Sorry thought you meant going out on a night out and pulling. 😊 Do you find it OK? I've never done it and not sure how I feel about it.

Fear of rejection - At 41 with two young children I joined Hinge and was absolutely astounded at the attention I got. It's a completely different ballgame than when you're younger seeking young women. What's the secret? I've been on Match, Facebook dating, bumble for 3 weeks and got nothing but scraps. I've sent messages and just get ghosted after 2 or 3.

Just doesn't feel like it. How am I going to live the best days of my life. How is the grass greener on the other side?

Not handling all this well at all. Suppose to be following Laurin Ponce's advise and moving on, just seems like I get somewhere and undo it all by saying "yes I would work on it". Made a Facebook post saying, how I am enjoying running and thanks to the running club for helping during difficult times. Probably not the wisest decision to post that and she said how pathetic it was. Said I am listening to this audio book and she asked, eventually told her I was listening to "No more Mr Nice Guy" and…

Yeah I know, I'm trying to stay grounded. Which author do i go for in No More Mr Nice Guy? There seems to be loads of different books?

I am in the same situation, been separated 3 months and it is hard, it is so so hard! But work on yourself. Go to the gym, reach out to friends you haven't seen in a while, join a running club, get out of the house. Get a hobby. Don't chase! Don't do what I did and beg for her to come back. Let her walk, she will probably come back. Research being a stoic man, be strong, have a purpose. And don't be afraid of being on your own. Embrace it. I put her first and didn't ask for anything back and did…

I am newly separated (3 months) and looking to get divorced and sell the house. I tried my hardest to make it work, I tried to earn more money, I tried to do more with the kids, more around the house, hoping for some breadcrumbs of attention. NONE OF IT WORKED!! In fact, it pushed us further away! She respected me less and my head was completely destroyed, I finished ending up wanting to throw myself off a bridge. My advice, if I had to wish to go back 6 months? Try less! Work on you, ignore her…
