Then in the situation that the wife and husband separate and the wife doesn’t get alimony why should the problem of being a stay at home parent be an issue? Like I said you can be a single income household and then they would get alimony since the bread maker would make enough that it would be viable. If they’re a two income household then they should split work 50/50 at home and then the alimony won’t be an issue since they both make an income so it won’t need to apply. Your issue is bringing u…

Of course most men aren’t millionaires, but those in the single income families nowadays are more likely to be due to the increased cost of living https://www.marseelaw.com/gender-and-alimony-who-gets-it-who-pays-it-whats-changing/#:~:text=Today%2C%20it%20is%20far%20less,is%20closer%20to%2010%20percent. You’re definitely correct on the percentage of people who receive alimony. But there’s ways they calculate whether someone should or shouldn’t get alimony. The decreased rate of alimony is also d…

Of course, and if they need money then it’s only right to work for it in one way or another. The trade off of having a husband who can provide a life for you that allows you to not have to work is in turn taking on the responsibility of the majority of house work. Traditionally the work still left to the man is making repairs and yard work. If the house you have is too large to reasonably expect a single person to keep alone then you would presumably be able to afford a maid cleaning service onc…

There’s a father role and a mother role. The father traditionally provides income for the family while the mother role does house keep and food prep. Wanting each person to fill their role isn’t really a bad thing, the issue is when someone wants someone to fill that role without filling their role. This goes for men and women. If you are providing enough of an income for your partner to be a stay at home partner, then you’re doing your job. Usually the trade off is you have to mow the lawn and …

I totally agree. I dislike how America thinks you need to work yourself to death for an income and you’re selfish for caring about your body and family. I wish we could change it but I don’t have that power. Maybe if someone who did started to care about that then maybe we could see a law put in place to raise minimum required PTO and sick leave but I doubt it’ll happen anytime soon.

I’m fairly average overall, I’ve always gotten along with kids since I’m the oldest of 5 myself. I just say sure and push them like I do my own kids. I try to be more gentle with them since I’m fairly rough on my own girls so they don’t end up crying from someone just poking them. They fall and scuff themselves up pretty regularly because they’re tomboyish and I don’t see anything wrong with it. But I’m definitely not going to be rough with anyone else’s kids without knowing their parenting styl…

Fair enough, though that does bring up another issue of whether women should or shouldn’t be treated equally at work. Now that sounds bad but think about this, at least in the us a lot of jobs only give so much time off a year paid if you’re lucky, and only allow you to take so much time off without pay. After that you’re penalized. If let’s say a woman had particularly bad period cramps they would either have to take sick time off, taking away from their non paid time, or take PTO every month f…

No lol it’s someone that’s supposed to clean and cook and make life in genera a little more comfortable at home for the working spouse. If they can’t do that, then they need to get a job to contribute to the house in some way.

Yes I agree that there’s plenty of men who aren’t fit to be husbands or fathers just as there plenty of women who aren’t fit to be wives or mothers. 7 million out of 162.4 million isn’t that bad statistically. That’s only 4.3 percent. Btw the statistic is actually 3.34 million for men and 3.31 million for women. https://www.statista.com/statistics/193261/unadjusted-monthly-number-of-unemployed-men-in-the-us/ This one is for men statista.com/statistics/193264/unadjusted-monthly-number-of-unemploy…

It’s a fenced in back yard that has little to no dangers. You act like generations on generations of kids weren’t allowed outside alone like this or if you’re like me and my wife just straight up locked outside and told not to come in unless we needed to use the bathroom. Our water came from the hose and we had fun still.

My wife and I both agree that home keeping is MUCH easier than having a job. Cleaning, cooking and watching the kids isn’t that hard. You don’t need to have a constant eye on the kids 24/7 there about half of your time you can leave the kids to their own devices because helicopter parenting is bad parenting.

No I’m saying you’re using what you do as a basis for everyone else. Your setting the standard you want everyone else to live up to as if it should be natural. Single parents have it harder because they have to both work and clean. You’re making it sound like you think that just because someone else can do it, that everyone else should do it. Is a hard working parent supposed to expect their spouse that doesn’t work go to their job on the weekend and do some of it for them? The whole trade off o…

That’s great that you’re able to do that, but that’s the standard you set for yourself. Don’t just expect everyone to do that. It’s like bill gates wondering why there aren’t more people starting incredibly successful businesses from their moms garage cuz he did it.

Or, or, the wife could be understanding that he just worked a 10 hour or longer shift and may be so physically and mentally exhausted that something small like that didn’t cross his mind. OR BETTER YET! Just be decent people and understand that both husband and wife can make mistakes and COMMUNICATION is important. Talking not nagging.

That’s a dangerous mindset. You really see taking care of your own house and kids as slavery? Jesus Christ, calm down with the victim mindset before you abuse your kids for asking for food because they’re you’re oppressors or some crap. Being a mother and a wife means taking care of your family. Just the same as a father and husband. In traditional houses with HEALTHY relationship (which I know may be a foreign concept for you) don’t give a shit about doing chores and making food, they don’t car…

You’ve been commenting on pretty much every comment I make. You REALLY must have a chip on your shoulder about this and idk why. You refuse to see that healthy relationships exist and see that while yes divorce happens, the women get alimony. They get child support. They get a lot of benefits for leaving and that’s why you need a prenuptial. If you build the wealth together then fine she’s owed half. But if you marry a millionaire and expect him to give up half of his fortune offer a handful of …

You’re completely missing the whole issue. Idk why you decided to avoid the topic of, why is it expected to have a traditional husband but not be a traditional wife, and also ignore the fact I said I have no issue with people being in 50/50 relationships and went straight for attacking me personally? Do you not have anything constructive to add or are you just trying to discredit my viewpoint by saying “you said this, or you’re broke, or you’re just whining so it doesn’t count”

You’re both mentally Ill. I make more money than my wife currently. She also has over 20,000 in student debt and I do just as much as she does with taking care of the kids. Neither of you seem to be in a relationship or have kids and sound like you need to helicopter parent which is bad parenting. And what of the women who live off of men? Most of those relationships are perfectly fine until the woman decides she wants more and divorces the man for something or someone else. 60 percent of divorce is started by the woman, 80 percent when the woman is college educated.

No not in the slightest. Currently we have a 50:50 relationship because I don’t make enough for her to be a housewife, which she wants to do. I teach the kids how to cook, and how to clean. I help with homework and with teaching them how to clean themselves etc. why would you assume that I just leave everything to my wife? You don’t need to watch them 24/7. Bare minimum of self care? Man you must not be that great with time management. That or you don’t trust your kids enough to take a shower. I can put my kids in the back yard to play while I take a shower, wash the dishes, clean the living room and they’ll be just fine. Parenting for me is passive because it allows them to solve their own problems and use their imagination. Btw my kids are 5 and 3.

Some crappy guys yes, not all guys, just like the group of women I talk about who want men to be daddies they can only sometimes sleep with and not have to do anything is only some women. I’m addressing the problematic people, not women as a whole.

No not really. My point in my post is that if one person can make enough to provide for the other, then the one being provided for should do the housework. I used man and woman examples because that’s generally how it had always gone and is only more recently shifting to the opposite. Which in those cases those relationships more often than not fail due to an ingrained idea that the man shouldn’t have to ask the wife for money and should get them gifts. The man in that situation would have to us…

Yes I would, if I were done for and a woman or man (I’m bi) who was somewhat attractive said “I make 75 k (or more or something around that anyway) and I want you to move in with me.” I’d jump on it.

Agreed, like I said it isn’t the problem of avoiding them. The problem is they’re spreading that idea. And it’s pretty obvious that they is inferring to the women who have these beliefs.

If you make enough money to comfortably live without the need of someone else’s income then why not? What’s the point of them having a job if you can easily provide for both of you? He’d be better off supporting you and your career.

It is for some people. They may be joking but many jokes has some fact in it. I highly doubt these women would say no to a man who makes enough to live that lifestyle if they got along well. (So long as they were single anyway)

As a parent myself (and yes my wife agrees with this, we’ve had this conversation before) parenting and taking care of the house is MUCH easier than a job. We both agree on the views I’ve voiced here and I’m not suggesting the dad just goes to work, comes home and ignores the kids. That’s just being a shitty dad.

True, but there are women out there who will settle with someone they find unattractive because they want the money more. It happens all the time. That isn’t to say tons of women are like that, but there’s enough that most unattractive rich men can still find attractive women to sleep with because enough of them want it. I think you’re misinterpreting my problem. People that expect too much for little in return is the issue. If you want a man to play the “dad” role and provide and protect them t…

Never seen the show lol. Saw little bits here and there when my grandma watched but beyond that no. These are things I’m getting from real women while I’m at work or socializing with my wife. Some of the more extreme examples are from social media but I know they’re outliers.

Of course, but that’s what babysitters and child care is for. If the man is making enough that the woman doesn’t have to work, they should be able to afford a babysitter once or twice a week for the parents to have me time and go on a date or whatever. These are all little things that get brought up along the relationship. Things like “I’m exhausted! I need me time! I need to not constantly be a mom” The dad says ok thanks for telling me, and takes some money out of savings to pay for child care…

No I totally agree it’s unfair! If a man is the only one working then the wife shouldn’t complain about having to do all the housework. But if both of them have to work they should split the housework. Just keep things even.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/23 04:08 PM

True, but the problem is that they’re promoting the whole idea that you SHOULD find a man like that and that every women deserves a man like that. And that if he expects them to do housework in exchange that he’s the toxic one. It isn’t a super large group of women who are asking for this exact thing but the group is growing the more they expose these ideas to younger girls and tell them this is what they should want.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/23 04:04 PM

I doubt many of them would turn down a decently attractive man who said “I make 75k a year (which in our area is easily enough to cover all the bills and then some) and I’d love for you to move in with me.” There’s no issue with having someone provide for you so long as both parties are happy. The issue comes when you complain about problems that are part of the role you signed up for. “My wife is always tired” yeah cuz she spends all day cleaning the house, maybe hire a maid service once a week…

I never said it was a gotcha, at the end I even said that how you have your relationship is up to you. If you want a protector provider man then you should play the complimentary house are part. If you’re progressive then don’t do that and split the housework. You don’t have to have the first type of relationship, it’s just that in areas like California and New York where the price of living is higher, more and more women are asking for a man who can pay for everything while still wanting the pr…

It is realistic, but only in certain areas or with certain jobs. Where I live the average income is only 30,000 a year. That’s just in Michigan. If I were to say, become a welder and make 30 an hour starting pay, I could reasonably pay for all of my bills and my wife wouldn’t have to work anymore.

Good point, I’m not sure if I properly addressed it but I don’t think you should be doing those types of things if your partner has to work too. If the man is the only one working, then often times they have an incredibly exhausting job that they work around 60 hours a week at. The wife could understandably take care of a left out plate from time to time. While it would be simple manners for the guy to take care of it, I feel the picking up clothes and taking back the dishes is a small price to …

Of course, the purpose of the post is to catch attention to get the conversation going. While they aren’t EVERYWHERE, there’s enough that it’s starting to be a problem in some areas. I don’t think wanting a man to provide and protect is an issue, so long as you play the complimentary part to that role and take care of the household chores.

For clarification these are views from real women that I interact with. Either from work, out socializing with my wife, or at things like family reunions. While some of the more extreme examples are from social media. I don’t think it’s wrong to want a partner to provide for you, I just think that if you want someone else to pay all your bills, you should take care of the house. It seems like an even trade off to me.

Of course, dating is all about vetting people so you get with the type of women/ men you prefer. There are tons of selfish women but from what I’ve seen (social media so that’s probably super biased) they tend to be in richer areas like California and New York. They expect a lot for little in return. Just as common, if not more so in places like Michigan and Wisconsin where the price of living isn’t so high, are women who are completely normal and wish for a partnership instead of a provider.

I feel this works in the same way many things do and it really depends on your level of attractiveness. Hot guy with kids is a perfect 10, ugly/ fat guy with kids is questioned as in where their mother is and is kept an eye on so they don’t kidnap someone or potentially hurt a kid. Society sucks sometimes but it’s an experience many fathers have had to deal with. Way I work my bills is I have a plan for each paycheck. First and foremost x amount of money is taken for whatever bills are upcoming, the rest is assumed to be for food and gas. If I have extra then I can get something fun but I try to save for emergencies. Problem is even working 12 hour shifts as a security guard making 19 an hour doing just over 40 hours a week I still live just barely over paycheck to paycheck..

The context is because many people just live to live especially men. Plenty of guys out there who make less than 50k a year and are happy because they enjoy their job or the people they work with and don’t struggle at all. Beyond that why do you need excess? Or that’s a fair consensus among many guys. Why do you think so many guys see nothing wrong with having a tv on the floor and 2 bean bags for furniture? It doesn’t take a lot to make us happy and having a lower income is fine for us.

Relationships are just transactions. I believe that wholeheartedly. Courting is a man spending money to impress the woman. It’s essentially a bidding war with the added caveat of attraction. You could have one person bid 100k a year and another bit 120k but give it to the lower bidder if they’re hotter. Dating is a financial transaction more often than. Not in the modern dating sphere and it has no rules as to what is and isn’t acceptable. Some women say you should never cold approach them, some…

/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/23 01:28 AM

Yeah that’s pretty much how things work. The problem is everyone lies. Everyone says it’s the inside that matters when we all know that the outside matters far more. If I got fat or my wife got fat we’ve both been honest and said we’d have to lose the weight or we wouldn’t date each other anymore. We aren’t hiding our preferences out of love, we tell the other how it is so we don’t have to fake it because of what we used to have.

Some women want maniacs, idk the psychology behind it but the evidence is how popular stories about murderers are and how at least Ted Bundy (if that’s the right one) used to get love letters from “fans” in prison.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/23 01:18 AM

Because it’s not like you can just hand women off. Many women would see that as pure objectification or suggesting that those women aren’t worth the other guys time. Idk if either of those opinions would be true but there’s always something nut to offend people when you do something like tell them no.

I guess a 4 depends on how your grading scale goes. I’ve seen women rate literal male models as fives so I figured a 4 would look something like me. Im fairly average in height (5 foot 8) weight (178) build (small dad bod tummy but otherwise in good shape, was in the marines so I thank that for being in decent shape) and facial build. <image> This is me and I’d say I’m around a 3 on a bad day and a 5 on a good. I try to get along with everyone but it obviously doesn’t always work. Work would suck if everyone was a smoker and ostracized me for not smoking.

Exactly. The problem is the women who say they’re ok with a man who makes less but the man still has to make above a certain threshold to be considered. They say it shows drive and confidence and other things to have a good job but when you make enough for a family to easily live off of you just need someone who can keep the house and watch the kids for you. Along with being a great match as a partner of course.

I think he may need therapy to see why he feels failure when his family is being provided for. From my perspective as long as my family can comfortably live I’m good with it no matter which of us makes the money. The shifts are long but luckily I only have to work 3 days a week with the 4 day week every other week I could get extra shifts if I wanted but we aren’t hurting for money so no need to take away the time I have with my kids for some extra toys. That’s something I’m learning late in life. I didn’t have a dad and nobody in my family gave me any advice except my mom who made me get a factory job right out of high school because I didn’t know what I wanted to do right that moment. Ever since then all she’s ever told me was that I needed to go to work. And yeah home life is easy. Keeping an eye on the kids. The issue is that they’re still limiting themselves. They need to make around what the woman does. A rich man will Mary the McDonald’s cashier if she’s cute and has the wifey properties they’re looking for.

Your dad is a crappy guy. Nobody should force their loved one to close down what they enjoy doing especially if they’re successful for their broken pride. I won’t say sorry because that just shitty behavior as a partner and is setting a bad precedent as a parent. I play with my kids, teach them to cook and play with them when I can, but I work 12 hour shifts as a security guard on night shift so my time with them is pretty limited. That’s a fair stance to have, and that’s great! I sincerely hope you find someone that fits your criteria. But what’s wrong with someone wanted a housewife? What’s wrong with someone wanting to be a housewife? I mean there’s people that want both so if they get together what’s wrong with that?

I believe if a woman stays traditional it’ll be much easier to attract the type of men you would want considering that the modern women are everywhere and the traditional s seem to be the diamond in the rough nowadays. Or you can do what one woman did: She decided she wanted to marry a dentist, applied as a dental assistant or desk clerk and hit on the dentists until she caught one’s eye. Now she stays home and does the stereotypical housewife stuff and is loving it. She also loves her husband o…

Of course I would be. I’m interested in the facts so if it turned out someone went out and got videos of them doing the same thing but it came back the opposite I’d be talking about both videos or if the other was the only one then I’d be talking only about that.

Of course, but what’s wrong with living off of one? You don’t need to work, you just take care of the house, hell, having kids isn’t even something that’s guaranteed. All you gotta do is keep the house nice and make food. Beyond that you’d be golden. I know that sounds like a good life to me.

So from what I understand is there’s 2 types of men who want a traditional wife. The men who are willing to work long hours at hard jobs to make the money necessary to allow their wife to never have to work and are willing to fix things, teach the kids the usual dad stuff and do the yard work. Men who haven’t grown up and want a new mom to do everything for them and still work. I think the second type of men don’t deserve a traditional wife until they reach what the first type of man can do. You…

True, but he does have women and men who have differing opinions. I mean at that point what is a credible source? Because we all know that pretty much every news source is biased to one side or the other. So I can only really find someone I think I can trust. I want to trust him. I know I can’t trust fresh and fit because literally ALL the women they talk to bar a few rare sane ones are just crazies who want Ryan Reynolds’s and expect all men to fit his standard.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/23 12:52 PM

That is true, I haven’t heard of the opposite where they’re fine with a man who makes less or nothing even. But I have heard of the woman who wants a man who makes more. So my opinion may be biased. It’s not like I took a poll on it myself. Though the data on average men and women is fairly clear. Height, attraction, and money, are all the main determining factors in most women’s “must haves” for dating.

I feel that. I’m married but her friends and coworkers have said I’m more attractive than they were expecting lol but I still say I’m a 3, up to a 5 on a good day. Then why do most women have as a basic requirement that their man HAS to make over either X amount or if the woman already makes good money that the guy makes more than them. It’s a more recent phenomena thy successful women are struggling to find partners. While this is from fresh and fit or a similar podcast, so take it with a grain of salt, but the woman who was making serious bank, like around 100k a year said her man HAS to make more than her.

This is true to some extent. The general horniness of men and the proclivity of women to toss it around but only to a certain group of guys makes for some bad things. Back when I was in school we had one or two school sluts that slept with a lot of guys. But from what my younger siblings are telling me the number of “school sluts” is growing fast. No, this is just a mentality that puts you in a bad place and you might need therapy for. Women at large have these tendencies to only go for men that can provide for them in multiple ways. The problem with this is that they all claim they want a man for who they are on the inside when statistically that’s as far from the truth as it gets. Generally (again not all women but a majority) women won’t give a guy a chance if he isn’t hot or at least look like he has a lot of money, that being wearing…

As a guy coming up on 30 I definitely understand. This all boils down to mindset. If you decide to focus on yourself and get on that grind and better yourself the women will naturally come and it’ll feel amazing! You may just look at it as “man I’ve never felt this confident before!” You may also look at it as “none of you wanted me just a few years ago when I wasn’t making 50k a year.” A big difference is most men tend to become more financially stable around 30 and really start to develop arou…

I’m decent looking and got a pretty decent sense of humor along with being very understanding and non confrontational. Also no size issues uh, down under, if you catch my drift. Now you do seem to be focusing on him pretty heavily, but this is also what women want men to do for them. If it seems hard to keep up it’s because it is. Women want men to do this all the time but don’t want to reciprocate. My suggestion is to simply have a sit down occasionally to talk about some of these things. You going down on him? DO NOT STOP, just make sure there is reciprocation. Maybe say you don’t want to just go down on him from now on and make a deal that you’ll do that for him anyt…

/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/23 08:03 PM

It’s not hurt ego, I couldn’t care less about that. My problem is their way of thinking. If they need to reject someone to find them attractive then who knows what that may implicate. It could be something small but it could also lead to something more. Let’s say hypothetically it could lead to you being in a great relationship but they have a need to reject you multiple times just to see if you get mad, or maybe they find it funny to say no and confuse you for a bit. /r/PurplePillDebate23/07/23 10:33 AM

Yeah man, a bit late, I’ve had this out with a few people already. I didn’t read the sub description. I never do so I’m constantly ignorant of what a sun is supposed to be. I thought this was a middle ground for politics in the us since we use red and blue for politics in general. I also only ever heard of red and blue pill being a problem in the us so I never thought that this would be an international group so that’s my bad and partially on the media I consume.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/23 08:27 AM

That’s ok I give massive props to you for saying sorry. I admit I’m wrong all the time in comments if I realize I was. So im glad you did too even if your “wrong” was pretty small in comparison lol
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/23 05:51 AM

Ok you’re right I am American but that’s kind of rude to generalize us all. I didn’t know the blue/ red pill was an issue outside the states. Most of what I hear is centered in the us. So honestly blame the media. If I heard about it being a problem elsewhere I would’ve never thought this was about American politics.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/23 05:45 AM

Honest mistake and that’s ok. I only posted to get conversation about the topic going and seeing if anyone knew more about it so I could learn some. I just suck at reading subreddit descriptions. I honestly don’t know the real purpose for almost any of the subs I’m part of.

Ah ok, I didn’t know I thought this was a political sub. My bad, I didn’t read the description so that on me. Though I don’t really appreciate the vitriol in your comments, but not much I can do about that.

I don’t want someone who flips their opinion of me so fast over something so small. I’d rather be given a chance to go out with them in a public space or something to get to know them than to be given a chance because I didn’t start flinging my own poop when I got rejected. I’ve seen plenty of interviews with women that suggest otherwise. The women literally say that a stable and trustworthy man is boring. They want a scammer or a criminal because it’s exciting and they don’t like a relationship where they aren’t arguing a lot because it’s not exciting so they’ll end up cheating on the boring guys to try to start drama. I know it’s not every woman but enough to be able to make a compilation out of so there are a few of the “dumpster” women out there.

Depends where in the world you mean. Most other countries haven’t changed all too much. America though has changed drastically. The quality of both men and women have fallen hard. Due in part to social media and the economy. Let me address women and the economy first; women (or around 30 percent of women) fought for equal rights and that led to a drastic change in the economy. Basically overnight the work force doubled by including women and now there was much higher demand for jobs but not as m…

Height is a weird factor in this whole thing. I’m most countries where they use the metric system this isn’t such an issue. But in America where we have the imperial system it’s a huge problem. When it’s in centimeters there’s a gradual shift based on height. When it’s in feet you have a gradual decrease to 6 foot and a plummeting decrease instantly at 5 foot 11 inches. American women find 6 foot to be some sort of magical number for absolutely no reason and it’s a purely american problem.

Slim or curvy Now we need to discuss what curvy is. Because curvy to me means curvy. As In “I have fat in just the right spots to have nice curves” not having. A muffin top. Nothing wrong with having one in my opinion, it’s just that I feel it’s not accurate to call someone who’s got rolls like that curvy. The problem with that is that the signs are very different from person to person. One woman could say she really likes your hair and will run her hand through it, pretty obvious. I believe looks get your foot in the door with both men and women. After that it’s many other things. I feel men are more accepting of things they may not like in a potential partner sexually than women. It may be that way for relationships but I’m not sure. I feel men are more accepting than women because most guys that I know have said something along the lines of “who cares if she’s ugly? I can get a bag.” Or “what’s wrong with a big nose? The rest of her is hot” while still rude comments it …

Why would she be being used? I said if she’s happy and they’re good to each other and we’ll off it’s good. What more could you really need? Does that mean that any couple that isn’t the same age is the older one using the younger? That doesn’t really make sense.

If my daughter found a guy my age that made her happy and they were good partners to eachother as well as being comfortable financially then I couldn’t care less. I have plenty of years before I have to worry about it but I’d be fine with her decision so long as he’s a good guy and treats her well and vice versa. I will not let my daughter be with someone just because of their money though.

So you’re upset, that people get upset, at being insulted personally during a debate? And you’re calling them immature? So I think we found a definite hard blue pill guy here. Not an ounce of red pill in his body. Now watch as he insults me, my ideals, my family, my friends or something else similar to those since this seems to not even be a post for discussion but to troll. This will be my only comment here have fun :)

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
