You’re not wrong, but I’d say to follow his advice first. If it doesn’t work, then you go to study game. But doing it the basic way is better in case it works. Then you don’t get all mindfucked trying to figure out dating psychology.

I've literally never heard someone say that dating apps build the same character as in person interactions. It's just another way to have more of them. I think everyone should do approaches in person whether that's at parties, hobbies, etc.

Consider the corollary. A bruised ego from a lack of swipes "is all on that person." Get blown out in person and go through 100 people who don't like you before you get to 1 who does OR only talk to people who are already interested. I stopped counting the ones from online too.

Why are you implying that every guy in online dating is desperate? What makes you think you can't develop any communication skills in online dating? A lot of our communication these days is via text; that's an important skill to learn. You also seem to imply that cold approaching can't hurt your self worth too...

In my other post I went over when it's worth it to do online dating. I don't think everyone needs to go to this much effort. Edited the post to reflect your point. I think if online dating works, it can help you build your self esteem. To your point, if you bang your head against a wall for years, you'll prob hurt your self esteem. This post isn't for those guys.

Absolutely. Pretty much every major city has a bdsm hub, bar, dungeon, club, what have you where they teach classes. If not, there are people that teach freelance how to do everything from suspension shibari to how to use a whip.

The front half of the neck can be visualized in three parts. The middle in the front: windpipe adjacent at a 45 degree angle are your arteries. At the sides are your neck muscles like the sternocleidomastoid muscles. Danger increases as you move from the sides to the front. If you're first starting with a girl, try a bit of pressure on the muscles, not the arteries or wind pipe just to see how she reacts. DO NOT put pressure on the wind pipe haphazardly. Read into it, watch videos, go to BDSM cl…

Honestly, no. I would say that reading a lot of fiction and non-fiction books helps you to learn a lot of other internal perspectives of people. Body language books help, but that only goes so far, it’s just another point of data that may or may not be wrong. I think it takes intentional practice in the context of a lot of socializing. This is a pretty good summary of some of the stuff I did unintentionally to get better at it. https://cognitiontoday.com/16-ways-to-train-increase-your-empathy/

For the half of the stuff that was about her personality and not her socioeconomic status, drug use, geographic background, etc then yes. Though it’s impossible to say if she was in fact precocious or she just behaved like she was because of the Barnum effect. Don’t oversimplify something that’s not brain dead simple

Lol. Did you not see the attached screenshot? I do this all the time. I guessed her childhood socioeconomic status, drugs she’s done, that she grew up in a boring town not a city, that she matured early... There was nothing about any of it in her profile. It’s not about getting a perfect read. It’s about getting an educated guess. You’re not assuming, you’re guessing. I’m wrong less than half the time. Of course people will surprise you. Chill

Yeah it's pretty fucked. I've been tempted to just say screw it and not even bother so many times. Definitely have taken breaks. It's easy to feel jaded when it's so much easier for women on online dating apps. I would say they put in way more effort on their looks though. When was the last time you spent $200 on hair and a manicure?

I mean I get it, it's frustrating. Online dating is skewed for women, and it's super discouraging for most guys even if they try really hard and do a lot of things right. I can't speak to eharmony in terms of attractiveness, but I'd say it's more for people over 25.

Need? No. You are correct. You can succeed if you're a huge catch with no bio. Does it help? Yes, see other comment that showed 4x matches with a bio vs none at all.

You can believe that I photoshopped my proof picture on my blog or not lol. Believe it or not, it's true. Granted, my match total came over years. It would probably take me 2 or 3 years at the current rate to get that many unless I shelled out for platinum. But yeah I think the curent estimate is 72% of profiles are men, you're correct. I also agree that going out to socialize and meet women is more important.

A lot of the time with the half-assed ones (and many of the others) there really isn't much to read, ha. Just something to do when you can. I'll post a video at some point though for you.

And why not? Writers and drinking go together like peanut butter and jelly. If it helps lower your inhibitions so you can brain dump some ideas without being super critical of your writing, then great. If not, then don't. The point is to get in a loose, creative mood when you're gonna write creatively, tinder bio or otherwise.

you people who do just assume everyone who doesn't just sits on ass and complains and don't understand how frustrating it is for everyone to think it's so easy or a given...when it is. You know how many attractive friends I have that get literally no results? I have a skinny, short indian friend who's been with hundreds of women. "Somebody once told me" is better than 95% of the bios I've seen lmao. You hit the nostalgia chord with like every soft grunge girl, theatre chick, etc who loved shrek, which is like all of them. The rest are wondering what you're talking about. Pics are not all that matters. There are so many empirical studies showing that variations in the bio across every dating site absolutely do have significant effects. "Without bios, our male stock profiles received an average of 16 matches from women; th…

Yeah, and when I was a chubby 5 with a weird patchy beard, a bad hair cut, no style, no tan, and terrible posture, I still got matches and dates because at least I didn't make excuses for myself and assume that 100% of everybody else's success is completely because of looks. That's the easier thing to believe because it means you don't have to take responsibility for anything. "Get no matches? Obviously just because I have bad genes. Guess I'll just give up now." Look at Post Malone or Ed Sheera…

I'd say I'm about an 8. On photofeeler my average pictures when I'm well-dressed, in shape, and have a fresh haircut put me at around the top 20%. I've gotten pictures to score better, but it's sort of like catfishing because they don't really look like me. My brother was the model lol, first girlfriend decided she liked him better. Hard to see yourself as the looker after that, ha. I honestly agree with all your points here. Pictures are more important. Being tall helps, not huge. Bio is impo…

I don't know man, I think that's pretty black and white. What about the girl who got dumped, got pressured by her friends one weekend, downloaded it for a few days, and then deleted because she realized it wasn't for her? I've gone out with a few girls like that. There are plenty of non-"tinder girls" on tinder.

I only say 50% because I think a lot of guys misjudge their appearance, so I don't actually disagree with you there, I was mostly accounting for user error. I don't disagree that you can have an insulting bio or a bad bio and still get tons of matches if you're insanely attractive. In fact, like I said to the other guy, a bad and interesting bio is better than a super boring one. On the other hand, if you're only somewhat attractive or moderately attractive though? Yeah, you can't get away with …

That experiment just proves what I already said, which is that being polarizing is better than being boring. One of the guys in the comments made the point that when he changed his bio to have fucked up shit in it like the experiment, he actually did better than when he had all the typical shit in his bio. It is a creative endeavor. You're creating something lol It's not just about getting matches, it's about getting the right ones. Would you want to date a girl who's dumb enough to go out with …

"someone isn't going to just have a magical bio, not be attractive and get matches." That's literally what I said. I never promised a magical bio. My other post literally said if you're in the bottom 50% for appearance on photofeeler don't even bother. "If you're someone getting that many matches, you're doing it in spite of the bio." This is not what my tests have shown. If I'm so attractive and the bio doesn't matter, then why do I get no matches with a bad bio, but plenty with a good one? You…

You're right that success in OLD is mostly about the pictures. If you look bad in pictures, no bio is gonna fix that. But that's not the point of this post. I disagree that my bio could be totally empty. You know how I know? Because when I made two accounts and one had a bio while the other didn't I got almost no matches on the bio-less account. I've also had bad bios before where I got almost no matches in a given week. Or I got matches and they unmatched me shortly thereafter, presumably becau…

None taken. This post was mainly intended for the guys using the excuse of "I can't get a date because of my height." The data clearly shows that height is not this big handicap we need to be insecure about. Small correlations and effect sizes despite what women say. No correlation between total dates and height. To me, that's really encouraging shit, so I thought it was worth sharing.
/r/seduction03/08/21 11:00 PM

So there hasn't really been a definitive answer in the science besides correlations AFAIK. What we do know is that, on average, height is correlated with total number of sexual partners in men. The thing is, height is also correlated with socioeconomic status, career trajectory, presumed competence, etc. It's hard to extricate one variable from the other. Possibly more importantly, One of the studies I read recently found that there was no correlation between a woman's stated height preferen…

You definitely don't need to go lowest common denominator level like you're writing a newspaper talking to high school reading level people. (unless you want to date that demographic, which presumably you dont) It's just... have you ever been on a site looking for an answer and you see a wall of text and just think... "you know what... never mind." It's like that on tinder. You're more likely to get that type of response from a girl than if you send paragraphs split up into sentences and send po…

He has roommates, so guests always hang out in his room. It's not weird to visit a guy friend whether or not he's got a girl over. Sometimes your boy is in town and the girl you're hanging out with is just chilling and doesn't mind. If you didn't read it, how did you know it's a derivative of different shit that's been said a thousand times? Lol

You didn't read the attached blog lol, I only know because he literally had a new attractive girl in his bedroom every single time I visited his house. The classic toilet n' tinder. Yeah I definitely think it becomes a crutch for a lot of guys. It gives the feeling that you're putting yourself out there when in reality they need to just start going out because online isn't getting them anywhere.

If you like outdoor sports, then volleyball, flag football, etc might be worth looking into. If you're a devout christian though I'd say yeah, most of the normal avenues for cold approach aren't really viable. Have you tried christian mingle? I haven't really talked to anyone that's used it, just wondering about it. I don't know what age range you're in, but if you're under 30 I know hinge lets you filter by religion for free, so that might be worth trying.

Good to hear that mate. It's stories like this that make me avoid ruling it out like I otherwise might. Would you have met a girl as good if you spent all the time offline that you did online? Who knows. I do think it gives you chances to meet people you otherwise couldn't or wouldn't have.

It's definitely not fun a lot of the time. For some guys, it can really hurt their confidence if all their pictures get reviewed badly. But I figure it's worth the risk to figure out you're wasting your time, or to figure out your looks are fine but the vibe in your photos isn't.

It may be that online dating isn’t for you. I’d save your time and money if you’ve been trying for years for literally zero results. I’m sorry that’s been your experience man.

So on the one hand, as men we definitely do punch below our weight in online dating compared to in person as a trend. But in your case you maybe should be doing better and it may have nothing to do with your looks, honestly. A couple of my friends who you sort of remind me of had similar issues. On photofeeler, one came across as super untrustworthy and the other scored bare bottom on the "smart" category. They switched up their pictures and voila, much better results. Worth a try if you haven't…

You're honestly right. That's why I titled the blog "how to sell yourself in online dating" Because you're in essence a salesman trying to compete with all the other people selling themselves to the female buyer. I don't care how insanely attractive of a guy you are, a moderately attractive girl still gets a way higher match rate than you. But if you're a business, do you just stop selling because you don't want to compete and play by the customer's rules? No. You do what works to win over the c…

I definitely do think meeting people through your social circle is the best way for most men, followed by just going out to social events and approaching people. But for a lot of guys, online dating works well. It's just another tool in the toolbelt imo

There are more men than women on dating apps and men are more visually attracted as well as less selective, so most women don't need to try at all with pictures. I wish it were different, but it takes a lot of effort to succeed with online dating as an average looking man.
/r/seduction01/08/21 09:43 PM

Why would you assume that the only reason I would do all this work is for a "quick bang"? All men only want one night stands from tinder, confirmed
/r/seduction01/08/21 08:34 PM

So this is a tricky thing. On the one hand, intense desire is probably the biggest aphrodisiac there is. Read any erotic fiction book out there, and there's always the fantasy guy who is so enraptured with the main girl, and only her, and he just can't help himself but be crazy attracted to her magical hoo ha. On the other hand, desperation and neediness and clinginess are all a turn-off. They're also a kind of desire, so what's the difference? One is a purely sexual desire from a guy who isn't …

I think studies can be quoted where they are critical to the meaning of the text, but otherwise a conclusion can be stated with a simple footnote. Stories for particularly dry sections or sections which are hard to explain without context of a real life scenario. Maybe some stories from women to support or provide a different perspective on things you claim?
