There are so many comments telling OP that she shouldn’t have an open relationship and that it will be the end of her relationship. Imagine the audacity it must take to assume that your preferred relationship structure is superior and best for all people all the time. If anything, the comments show that OP should be careful about who she tells - the world is full of people who will immediately project their own bullshit onto her relationships.

The top of this thread asked for a legal opinion and I gave one..............

This is my last reply. After this, we will have to agree to disagree. If you are correct, then you will not have difficulty finding case law that supports your opinion. But you won’t be able to find it because you are wrong. Given that you are the one asserting that the behavior is illegal, it is your burden to prove it. You haven’t met that burden. Magazines and television companies express viewpoints all the time. They have a right to control who expresses the viewpoint and it’s content. The g…

It’s not though. MGTOW expresses a viewpoint. And Reddit doesn’t have to allow that viewpoint. Any law that attempted to force them to use their capital to help express a specific viewpoint would violate the first amendment. You aren’t going to find a case that supports your argument because you are wrong on the law. And given the number of users, there would definitely be a lawsuit if Reddit was violating the civil rights of hundreds of thousands of people.

Okay, well if you’re right then I am sure Reddit will be sued into the ground.

Okay, well I disagree. I am not going to analyze your new hypotheticals. I am an attorney with experience handling civil rights cases. That is the basis for my opinion. Please cite a statute or law that you think Reddit is violating.

There are laws that prohibit gender discrimination in the work place. Gender discrimination in the workplace is not protected by the First Amendment. There are no laws prohibiting the exercise of free speech by a private company such as Reddit. Reddit can ban anything they want for any reason or no reason.

It’s not. People and corporations have a right to free speech. That means that they don’t have to offer up their platform to others of differing viewpoints. Nor do they have to explain their reasoning.

Why is it shallow to just want to fuck people? If I want a deep connection that doesn’t involve sexual chemistry I will hang out with one of my long term friends. I simply cannot understand people who whine about sexual attraction and act like it’s somehow wrong to require it in a sexual, long term, relationship.

Your link just reasserts that physical attractiveness, as a starting point, is somehow shallow. I say again: if a person is not attracted to another person, it’s a waste of time to go forward. That’s not shallow at all. Also, your argument is not true for me or for most of the people I know who use these apps. And I am sure I could google something that contradicts your link from QZ (2014).

I disagree. I think lots of people use Tinder and other online platforms to find long term relationships. Social circles and hobbies may produce some possibilities, but I don’t know why they would be inherently better, given that sexual attraction is just as important when you meet someone IRL vs. online. And I think it’s more than appearance, that’s just the first filter. After that you’re going to need some things in common, sense of humor, and whatever else it is that makes you desirable. If …

Sexual attraction is what it is. It’s not deep or shallow. Personality isn’t going to mean shit to me if I don’t want to have sex with a woman. Likewise, it’s not shallow for a woman to only show interest in men she finds attractive. I don’t get offended when someone does not find me attractive because it’s really beyond their control. For me, sexual attraction is the first and most important thing because it’s a deal breaker if it’s not there. It’s not the only deal breaker and it’s certainly n…

Like me, she was interested in sex and/or relationships. We got together and pursued both. Lots of fun. I think you’ll find all kinds on Tinder, just like in bars, clubs, coffee houses, and wherever else you look.

For some people. I met my gf on there several years ago and we are going strong.

So it’s shallow to consider physical attraction to be important? I will never understand this mindset.

I quit reading when you said that your dick caused some woman to make profound changes in her life. What a load of bullshit.

Gather all your financial documents and make copies or get originals or other important papers you might have. Do you have children? Do you want to keep the home? Either way, get your finances figured out now so that you will be ready to transition to your new life. Start thinking about property distribution. Go see an attorney and get this thing started after Christmas.

Username checks out. The court won't pursue it because the courts don't really pursue anything. But opposing counsel might. And incendiary lies will make the divorce and the future relationship infinitely worse. If caught lying, you will desperately wish you hadn't. Don't do it.

I don't think lying to the courts is a good idea at all. Perjury is criminal, and if caught, you can expect to lose all credibility with the court. Don't do it. Get your things moved so they can't be thrown on the lawn. Secure all your financial papers, passport, and important documents. Change your passwords and assume your computer use is monitored at home. Have the attorney file for divorce. Have her served. This is not a discussion and her permission is not required.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
