Pulling this funding ultimately wasn't a "feminist" initiative. It's the Labour government using right wing fiscal policy, which basically just means cutting funding to things poor people need.

Perhaps some classic left wing perspectives here. To the readers, if the following list doesn't sound amazing to you (largely, I mean I am generalising a lot of the points, but you get the idea), you may be looking for another of many male advocacy subreddits that are not left wing. Here goes: The minimum base level of survival and dignity should be granted to all, irrespesctive of their capability to work or make any other productive contribution. This includes chipping into a common fund throu…

We desparately need to realise and accept as a society that many or most, if not all demographic groupings face different challenges and issues. Sometimes these are shared, sometimes they're unique or disproportionately affect one or some groups more than others. Platforming each of these issues is valid. Trying to stir the pot by attempting to undermine or overshadow one issue with another is not valid and that's obviously a two-way street many many people do not understand.

I would say that the pressure to get married or be in a relationship at all tand the subsequent feelings of failure and self-worthlessness are a key issue.

I was gonna say. That old dude and the democrats to me (as somebody from outside the US) are a bit of a sore excuse to be called left wing.

The injustices in themselves are not really reasons. It's much rather that mainstream left wing politics gives no attention to them, discredits/denies them or offers approaches that don't fix the problems.

The pattern of the right wing to attain main stream popularity with especially young people is to take whatever subject they might be able to intersect with and fuse their talking points with. For example, I am actively witnessing nazis subtly injecting antisemitic rethoric into angered people who really started out just wanting to stop the slaughtering of Palestinians. You would be surprised how readily people grouped together to a cause can be made to believe other things that you attach to th…

I've really eapecially witnessed trivialised commentary ever since I can remember vaguely understanding the social context of what people said around me. Amd every time somebody pointed out how it might actually be odd, the usual response would be "well, of course I don't actually mean-" Then don't say it. Simple as. Is it kind, true, funny, helpful, interesting or has any other redeemable quality? If not, really consider not saying something. Goes a long way and I am yet to master it too.

The whole war thing confronts us with a simple conflict: Do our values mean anything at all or do we condemn people to experience fates and take on "NaTuRaL RoLeS" by putting all the responsibility on them for how they were born? Any society in which each individual can choose their own role is a better one in my eyes and I would rather be exiled by my own people than be forced into roles which I am not ready to fulfil.

Tbh AI partners are detrimental to everybody. It's on theory sexist against women in a lot of ways and against men in some ways too, but ultimately it's turning relationships into pure capitalistic consumerism, instead of actual human connection. It separates people even further and inhibits the general public's ability to organise and resist against an oligarchy.

No, I'm actually talking about his personality, skills and underlying emotional intelligence. You don't get to tell me what I see in a person, that's quite demeaning and hurtful, thank you. The human rights and dignity of one group of people cannot be allowed to tale priority over another, especially since any such grouping can be chosen by an arbitrary characteristic. Where would that lead to? Can we only advocate for the issues of a group that has x y z characteristics? Are other people forbidden from having their voices heard? That's my comeback to the "we should tackle women's issues first". We need to tackle all issues or else we're all fucked.

Relationships that require this level of documentation of who does what are not relationships I personally would pursue at all. It's teamwork based on love, trust and sincere desire to support each other and help one another. It's a fundamental basis of human connection. An app to artificially replicate and maintain forced results of this dynamic when it doesn't exist sounds very counterproductive to healthy relationships. Surely to introduce this app into a relationship at all, either both must…

It's a very complex subject, so making a competition out of it as soon as one statistical anomaly is brought up is pointless. What needs exploring is what behaviour results in these statistics. How do those reasons affect people and how may they affect men and women differently? How may the use of suicidal actions differ along this dynamic? What differentiates victims with differ…

Part of this dynamic is that men respond to flirty hot women in s desireable way when the woman intends it, but the same doesn't work the other way around (and if it does by far not often enough to make it worth trying strategically). Saying this just to add another explanation as to why it happens at all. The immorality of it you pointed out absolutely perfectly. It will be curious to see what legally constitutes "staring persistently", which I'd assume includes being told to stop. The other ones would just be forms of what I'd consider verbal harrassment anyway, so depending on how it's all worded, it can be decent but it could also turn out very shit.

People hate seeing others happy once they're more than 5 years apart somehow. They'll even complain about an 18 year old kissing a 17 year old if nothing else is available. Sadly, the threat of abuse, power dynamics and paedophilia are very real and frighteningly common compared to what you'd hope. This does work both ways as curtailing the global population by about half brings just about everything in need of human maintenance to a grinding halt. Extend that to 30 days and A LOT of people will die. It's just never the funny thought exercise anybody makes it out to be. It's a thought exercise for people who like to hate and gossip. They say "abolish it instead" when lawmakers consider making it gender equal, but once women are spared they stop caring as if the topic doesn't exist. Well, it's no longer important because women are no longer part of those affected directly, even though they could argue that wives, mothers and daughters can be affected by the loss and strain on the men in their lives.

Humans drop their moral standards when they despise somebody. This is reflected in this event and many others. It makes us see beyond sexism and human property dynamics for war. It makes us see beyond pointlessness, hypocrisy and the sheer cruelty of capital punishment. There is a reason most countries forbid death penalties and torture, because if it was allowed, people would make it happen at far higher rates than it already does, perpetuating cycles of violence and abuse. What we observe here…

I find this to be a general phenomenon in the political sphere. Most decent people, which is more or less most people (or else we wouldn't have societies nearly as functional as they are), will agree with the basic principles of equality and kindness and try paying a bit of attention to them. Outspoken people tend to act fanatically, and that fanaticism is ironically exactly what can turn them bigoted towards other subjects, even closely related ones.

The simple answer why it's always male pedos that impregnate little girls is that boys are unlikely to even think of impregnating somebody forcefully and the fact that you need a man to impregnate a woman. Were it possible by other means just as easily, you would see other perpetrator demographics too, like with the rape of boys that are being forced to impregnate an adult women and later find themselves being sued for chile support.

As soon as the slight majority victim group of something is women, then it's a women's issue and male victims get entirely neclected. The only thing that could be missing if you cheat sexually is sex with sincere emotion, and I don't think that's something men like to not have. And if you're lacking sincere emotion in general to a point where you seek it elsewhere, talk to your partner. It's you two vs. the problem. People that have learned something from their past that has ended but that they can now use to live something better and healthier.

You can cope and seethe all you like. The tax revenue from higher earners will always subsidise lower earners unless you strictly enforce everything to have equal outcomes, which is highly undesireable.
/r/MensRights31/08/22 10:16 AM
5

If you wanted to remedy this issue you're pulling out of your ass, you would not only have to enforce an exact 50% gender balance in every profession, but also micromanage every action, not let couples choose whether one of them focuses more on career while the other does more house work or spends time with the children etc. You'd need more than the North Korean regime to not have higher earner's taxes subsidise lower earners. This mechanic exists independent of gender btw. Prrrrthanks
/r/MensRights31/08/22 10:06 AM

Your article by a political editor (after skimming it) only seems to talk finances and going on about the gender gap. I wonder how individual choices in career could possibly affect that? And no, I stuck to your original comment. You can stop being a spiteful ass btw, it won't help you. Not here and not anywhere else.

Despite what society tells us, women have a far stronger in-group bias, meaning they are more likely to defend another woman without questioning whether allegations are valid by virtue of being the same sex than men are likely to do (which does also happen, but at a smaller scale in my experience). I'd say it's a general phenomenon increasing in prevalence the more people are taught to tie their sense of belonging to something. Russia will care about its manpower eventually because their population is one of the fastest shrinking on Earth. With every year they grow weaker, more and more young people leave the country etc. This war is going to cripple Russia like nothing we've seen before.

I highly suggest to NOT go to Russia or Russia friendly countries. You are at war. I've heard of Russia taking prisoners based on ethnicity (though don't rely on me for information). Just going near there is a big risk that's more likely to get you killed or arrested than staying put.

I thought about organising aid specifically for the men that have to remain, basically an emergency manpower reserve, so that there is no public "omg he dares to take food donations" kind of bs. Meanwhile do everything to stay mentally sane right now. Go for those stupid mental health walks, flail around in bed like a fish, acquire a regular masturbation cycle, do things like staying neat and tidy to create a space where the world seems whole and ordered, to contrast with the disorder and chaos …

"You lot" I'm not trans lol, no need to get yourself upset now. I'm highlighting feminist hypocrisy, which (especially in the UK) get increasingly transphobic, often saying young people don't have to learn about the existence of such a thing, but then promote things like this textbook that slap modern politics right in children's faces. That's what I highlighted and I sincerely hope that's what you manage to see now, after I have explained it to you.

You say your sperm production is slowed? As in: not died down entirely? Is it just the low amount that's the issue or are they produced infertile straight away? Because if it's just the low amount, could there be a way to collect them (through a medical professional) until there is a sufficient amount to inseminate your wife?

That influential voiced in feminism, that are broadly supported, would actually fall under the "not real feminists" umbrella puts the whole movement in a very problematic position. There isn't a wholly unitary approach to each topic feminism tries to address due to its sheer size. In itself, it simply cannot categorise a gender equality movement when so many different perspectives, good and bad, find significant audiences. It's also only remotely true that feminism is for men too. If it was for …

It changes the anti-male narrative from wannabe-progressive double standards to tradcon shitfuckery. Either way, the forced gender norms for men persist, the legal inequality will persist, all of this will be more or less the same, except that the ideological parroting will be a different one. If you challenge the notion of universal male privilege with the explanations that explain with factual correctness the discrepancies and disparities between races and how fortunate their circumstances are, then a lot of the modern gender debate ideas collapse. Though only a more recent addition, my former school advertises both a girl's day and a boy's day to promote the specific fields of work in which each gender is underrepresented in order to promote and nourish interests where diversity is lacking. It is now a mutual effort to diversify professions through education and advertising in order to reduce divisions at the workplace. I think it's a very healthy approach to take! Remove any trace of hiring discrimination from the equation and pure promo…

I sometimes wondered why there were slightly more women on the planet when I was younger, and anybody I asked told me the birth rate was about 50/50. The day I learned that there are issues disproportionately, or almost exclusively affecting men answered that question. Edit: A concise and informative correction has been made in a reply to me, concerning a misinformed statistic on my part. It is my homecountry in which I noticed an imbalance, not the world as a whole, which has a ratio of about 1…

It would mean that women go perfectly together with women and same with men and other men. I'd say I'd have it easier because I'm gay, but then again there's nobody in my life that would ever be attracted to me because they're all straight. All of them. It's just the most common form of sexuality. In that way, I have it even harder, because most people here, despite mostly accepting environments, remain closeted. Yay for me!

While it could be used to deviate the topic to look into the social and economic factors that disproportionately affect men and lead to this kind of behaviour, it's more of a "black gun crime victims are mostly killed by other black people" thing. So women as a group not being as successful as an extreme minority of men means misogyny? It's pretty one-sided. Of course women will have problems, often even entitely different from the problems men face, but this sort of ignores what other people here ignore too. The ambiguity of parallel problems. Everybody can face shit, and whether men or women have it bad somewhere cannot fully be measured simply by comparison.

Depends on how often it comes up and how fundamental it is. I've been taught that with relationships it's either a hell yeah! And if it isn't that, it's a no. People either look for hookups, relationships or not at all. I also think there is no such thing as looking for short-term relationships. To answer the question in your post title, we'd probably have to dig through a lot of history, psychology and so on and so forth. The problem with historical record is that the authors aren't immune to biases or even ill intent. It makes you an egalitarian. Everybody will face injustices somewhere in the world. If we have the simple value that all humans should be treated as any other human then we're going far beyond the details that are men's issues or women's issues or the issues of certain ethnic minorities and majorities and all that jazz. It makes you a promoter of all of these things, so technically you are still correct. An egalitarian is, in a way, MRA.

It's clearly been 20 years since you've seen that movie. That song occurs while they're cleaning the children's room (which was a big mess). The phrase itself comes from one of the Sherman brothers who worked on the movie (and are wrongly credited by google for the roles of one Penguin Waiter and the Old Bird Woman). One of the brothers has a son who back then went to kindergarten or primard school. There he got some medicine, and to make the entire ordeal more pleasant for the children, they we…

Aren't civil defendants free? They might not be of much help since most of their cases go through the courts like some industrial factory but if there is no way to afford a lawyer, that could be an option. Kinda makes me sad because the mother in Mary Poppins is such a sweet lady and out of being oblivious of some of the things managing to foster in that movement. This reminds me of Phineas and Ferb and the character Baljeet. He's a stereotypical nerd that gets bullied by Buford, but something sticks out for me when I think about him. Throughout the show he develops into a valuable friend and vital part of the friend group. Even his relationship to Buford is actually surprisingly amicable and they do like each other. If for example mother or father are absent, it will be more of a challenge for the single parent to raise a healthy and balanced individual. How does one make the connection in their minds that liking someone younger is somehow supposed to be tied to wanting to fiddle with children? It's an awful accusation, complerely strips the younger adult member of the relationship of any leverage to speak for themselves and completely disregards the endless positive experiences from people in such relationships. Just ask around in r/GayYoungOld or other places. Sure manipulation exists, but that's far from exclusive to age gap relationships. Wa…

While I generally agree with the sentiment present in this community, we have to acknowledge that there will always be vile and toxic people within any group and if we deny their existence they will be the forefront of what people see it as. Same goes for the political left and right. Wokelords are the worst of the left, KKK-types are the worst of the right and neither are the only members of those groups. I'd argue the whole gender debate is just one of those divisive things to distract from rather simple matters. You can make small money in few ways. You can spend big money in endless amounts of ways. Who pockets the difference? Money is power, however so is publicity and legislation. With enoigh organisation, our democratic systems can be used to force beneficial legislation for us. If only we weren't so divided. Wonder who makes sure it stays that way?

Judging by the amount of roleplay requests for femboys and sissies and whatnot, I'd say that both are much desired. There's nothing inherently with a fem guy, I mean it's literally the very most common cliché about gay men and they're still men, with confidence in being men. I too like it more when guys are "masculine" as long as they don't artificially blow up their ego through it, but that goes for everybody. Arousal nonconcordance is a sex related response of your body to a sex related stimulus. Many rape victims actually experience it, which of course doesn't mean they enjoyed being raped. With this effect you can be straight and get a boner seeing two guys kissing. Sex related stimulus, sex related response. You didn't wanna have sex and that's fine. If your gf is upset that you asserted a personal boundary in that moment and that she isn't entitled to your or your body then oof.

Arousal non concordance is an important piece of sex ed most people are missing. Basically, arousal non concordance is a sex related response to a sex related stimulus. This means you can be straight and get hard from gay porn. It also means you can get raped and have an orgasm. The lack of knowledge of this phenomenon has resulted in excuses for rape based on sexual arousal.

Just because you're grouping everybody in with one kind if evil doesn't mean everybody is just that one type of person. Are you happy stalking these comments just to sound like you're smashing windows left and right? Everybody you will address like this will not gain your conviction from it, so where is the point? Take quality time for yourself. Watch a movie, take a walk, meet friends, call relatives, whatever. Just please do something that makes you happier than all of this.

Tbh it always has been. While we cannot ignore the many instances where there is now equality where it previously hasn't been, with advantages for everybody, the general sentiment has often been getting the rights without the downsides. The common man only ever got the vote because in times of war, he might be forced to fight to his death even against his own will. The state owned you, which is why you were granted the right to participate in deciding who controls the state. This obligation was …

This. I've never seen anything ASD related to "reeee" at all. I only ever saw pepe the frog. This suggestion that I implied something to be demeaning towards somebody else than I was actually targetting and thus labelling me as the evil whatever is quite the leap. What's next? Is using waah as onomatopoeia going to get me accused of being ignorant of ageism and insensitive towards babies or would I just have been menaing to point it at people who whine?

I'd like to submit this question: This will not be an easy question to answer, or maybe it will be, but what do you think can be done beyond the usual platitudes of constructive discussion, that isn't being tolerated by multiple sides, to make people aware that being male doesn't equate to an easier or better life and that everybody will have problems of their own? How can this common knowledge reach the radicalised tribes?

From what this sounds like, she's treating you like property and exploiting you for your investment in a relationship and the fruits of your labour. Make sure she doesn't get anything from the divorce settlement. You earned all of that for yourself. Any marriage, or relationship for that matter, is a mutual effort. This problem you have cannot be solved through talking or couple therapy. It is so severe that you better not bother with her and get out. And make sure to not get her pregnant.
/r/Divorce_Men29/06/21 09:12 PM

I simply think marriage is an unnecessady hassle to begin with. I think I'd opt for an alternative ceremony down by a small, secluded river where me and the man of my dreams would get wed privately to each other, all surrounded by nature and just each other's presence. That would be the bond I want.

Events described in this sub do happen (especially in the US, refer to r/DivorceMen for personal accounts) but in case you did notice the fearmongering of women being out there just to take everything from you, that is indeed being overdone. Generalising women as only using men is about as logical as saying all men are rapists. The amount of people doing it is frequent enough to constantly be noticeable, but infrequent enough so that you're more likely to never have it happen to you. Now I shall…

I think they're stuck in the old idea of the oppression of women and can't believe that the fight in the western world is much less necessary than elsewhere. In many ways there are even inequalities affecting men and putting women in a much easier position (although LOADS of things have become gender equal). Women face problems still, so do men, addressing either shouldn't be exclusive.

Some do have it a lot harder, of course. Well, starting with the tweets on the image. Twitter person claims that if a woman cheats on her man, it's his fault because then he failed to deliver. While missing something is indeed a common motive for cheating, it is ultimately up to a person to decide what they do and they are responsible for their actions (same with criminal law, just as a comparison). By saying women aren't responsible, the twitter person tries to blame men for being cheated on. What this would mean is that a woman canno…
/r/AntiFeminists26/05/21 11:49 AM

No, that was a question to highlight a failure in the narrative. By pushing the blame for women cheating onto men, you are stripping women of their agency. That is what the question pointed out. Because this dehumanises women, the first tweet is actually sexist against women, despite trying to trash men. The question encompasses all of that meaning in a little bit of sarcasm. It's called humour.

That's the thing though. The father does not have any legal influence at all if she makes a decision within legal boundaries to abort because he can't force her to make her body undergo the pregnancy or not. Of course you could argue that's selfish, because the father would lose the child without influence of his own (and most couples will make that decision together anyway) but from a legal side, he has no say here. The carrier of the child is given the decision by law and nobody else. The fath…

The last sentence of their definition of DV says it all, because it is entirely unnecessary, despite statistically holding up. It is not too far off to assume that they included it with an aim to frame all men as the evil ones and all women as victims. Whenever I notice shit like that, I really get what people mean when they tell me I can be glad I don't get stares in public for not looking like most other people (e.g. skin colour). This shit absolutely wrecks me!

How does it come that everybody talks about the "oppression of women by men" even outside radical circles? Maybe feminism as a whole has lost the equality focus as soon as that mentality appeared? Gender equality isn't a women's issue. There are inequalities still going both ways and they need work, but not just for one of the genders.

Which is why as a gay man, if I ever end up with a partner and a child, I'll make sure that we meet some female friends on a regular basis so that a little bit of both is provided. There is a reason men and women need each other to reproduce and why it works so well. The more healthy role models in general, the better. You cannot convey enough richness of character, openness, safety and self-care, so the more the better.

There is no in-group bias among men, however this has been studied and there is an in-group bias, a collective, among women. Despite that, it woild still be wrong to stereotype them too. Exchange "men" for any minority imaginable and you'll quickly see that the phease "men, as a collective, accusation accusation accusation" is incredibly fucked up.

Classic identity politics and I'm not surprised it's a therapist saying that. The mental health stuff is not very friendly to men in many instances. By putting an emphasis on the gender of the attacker, she is essentially blaming victims for being attacked because they're the same gender as the perpetrator. It's like telling a woman she shouldn't have worn revealing clothing if she didn't like to be raped. Classic victim blaming and a common mentality that undermines your life as an individual.

Well, being hated and then using transition as an escape cannot be called gender dysphoria, which in itself is innate to a person, which is all the more reason why we need clear diagnosis and resource allocation to make sure transitioning is made possible for actual trans people and not for any other reason. What you're describing is basically people entering a powerful team in the oppression olympics just to not actually face rejection from society. Ironic!

Sounds like the vice principal is a crazy Kevin/Karen and a lot could be done to stop this stuff in its tracks by parents, of boys and girls alike, rallying together to complain. This kind of stuff is spreading like a wildfire throughout Western education and needs to be stopped.

Yeah, this. As an adult you're gonna have to learn to pay for your needs and wants. If you just get a man to suck his money, you're abusive, so I agree with what you say about everybody paying for themselves. Here in Germany, it is very common to say "getrennt" (separate) to a waiter so they know to put items onto different bills for each person, making it very easy to know how much you owe the place.

The feeling I imagine makes me understand why there's people that claim to be feminists without thinking much about what that means. Imagine if women were as disregarded as men are and men as celebrated as women are and them hear a casual "of course I'm a male advocate." You'd IMMEDIATELY think "but what about women?" and putting that off as whataboutism would be ass. That's why "what about men" is not whataboutism and we need to empower all people, not just women.

We are used to education being all about girls and neglecting the boys, however this poster at a school in Germany is quite different. Women are underrepresented especially in certain scientific fields. For that purpose, the Girl's Day advocates for girls to consider pursuing studies and careers in scientific fields, technology, etc. A common talking point we bring up is that men are severely underrepresented in other fields themselves. She was afraid because a man exists? Statistically speaking, it's much more likely her own family members will kill her than some guy entering a shop to pick up an order. Even speaking from mere statistics, suspecting every stranger on the street to be lethal danger is entirely unreasonable. There's a lot of fearmongering. Compare the amount of people that live to those that get murdered and you'll be disillusioned rather quickly. The risk is incredibly low and being afraid of every man because "stranger danger" is about as bollocks as being afraid of every women in case she wants to sue you for you looking her way. Most violence and abuse (emotional, physical and sexual) is somethong you will receive from relatives, friends, partners and acquaintances. A stranger is the least of yo…

I'm a bit of a "ree woke crap" person but if I want to be able to complain about them, the same has to be possible the other way around. I assume that to be common sense, because how can we guarantee to be able to give criticism to something we both dislike when anybody that gets upset by it can punish us for it? I don't care if you hate white people, I don't care if you support Donald Trump, just admit to it and engage in meaningful conversation.

The extreme right, just like other extremist organisations around the world, systematically target alienated young people (mostly men, however they take any women they can get too) because it is easier to convince somebody you're the good guy if you're the only person not treating them as lesser. They even go as far as telling them they are something better, which is even more dangerous. The Independent is pulling the same political bs. I have switched to TLDR News on youtube, which is a truly independent news service run by university students and except for the genius sarcastic undertones on topics where governments screwed up, it really tries to be neutral and tell a story from all sides, bringing up their arguments and afterwards how they'd evaluate it. They don't appear to try and push you into any direction whatsoever and I really like that. It is a bit UK-centric though.

Implying a man has to "do" something to have his mere existence based on his gender be acceptable in the world is the core problem of the feminist ideal. There's normal and there are arseholes. None of these (admittedly generalised) categories are gendered. Prescribing that one gender has an inherent trait that needs active correction or else face to be exiled from society is incredibly sexist, regardless of who you use this method on.

There are many predicted particles they haven't found and they've been testing a lot. The theory hasn't changed for years and years. Usually when using the scientific method, you test your theory. If the results of the tests end in your theory not being confirmed, you try altering the theory to see where you might have been wrong. They're not doing that though, they want to continue until they get results they like, which is, of course, idiotic. The theory of all of these undiscovered fundamenta…

The thing is, I don't think there's a superior position for abortion in relation to deciding when it is or isn't done. You don't want people to be able to force women into certain things, however the father should have just as much say as with what happens with his child. It's funny because the British were the first to abolish slavery (because they were convinced it was wrong, not through violence) and took great efforts to stop all slave trade. Slave traders in Africa actually refused, because it made them so much money. Eventually, the Empire grew strong enough to suppress it. They still did all other kinds of shit, but the end if slavery is something they did first.

The response to the picture shows how ridiculous it is and how needlessly it bashes on men by simply reversing it onto women. It's equally as nonsensical. Plus if most of the perpetrators are men, the underlying problem is that there are more things happening to men that enable this violent behaviour than women. What can we do about that? How do we help men like that? How do we help anybody committing crime to realising there is no gain in it?

I mean often higher imprisonment rates also boil down to higher crime rates.
