5 months laterI'm about to get my third job thank you so much for the tough & rough reality. I gotta live to love it and yeah she may have loved me but I'm not the person she needed and I'm not the person I need I just have to become a better man. Thank you again for the good advice and difficult perspective it isn't going unappreciated. | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/09/23 11:10 PM
5 months laterAbsolutely on point. It is time to listen to someone else than that voice telling me different. Preciate you replying and giving more good advice. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/09/23 01:04 AM
5 months laterI'm getting there. I've accepted the unacceptable I just have to hold myself accountable. I know that with every down comes an up thanks for the time taken to help. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/09/23 01:03 AM
5 months laterI may have to listen. I've done the opposite and I can't pretend it's been working. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/09/23 01:00 AM
5 months laterI appreciate the good advice. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/09/23 12:59 AM
5 months laterThank you. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/09/23 12:59 AM
5 months laterI was 3 weeks in not too long ago insane to imagine I'm closer to half a year than when I was barely a month into this. Hope it goes well for you. I can't fake the positivity and well wishes. It's truly been nothing but pain and hardship every week after but it's just part of the process. Like I said I hope it goes better for you. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/09/23 12:59 AM
5 months laterAlcohol truly is a demon. Preciate your positivity and good advice. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/09/23 12:57 AM
5 months laterPreciate the positivity. I know it's a healthy alternative to the opposite which is self destructive and expensive to keep up. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/09/23 12:45 AM
5 months laterI've been hearing this a lot from different people. Not helpful at all to imagine but it is a reality for a lot of divorced men to have to deal with. I know life goes on but it's so presumptuous to directly assume. She can do whatever she wants with her time and if that's what's happening good for her. I am just not sure it's the healthiest way to move on from a partner by imaging her in that manner. Even though like I said it is a reality a lot of divorced partners face through separation. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/09/23 12:43 AM
5 months laterId rather respect what she asked for which is no contact and to fulfill her need for a separation. No need to burrow myself back in her life. I'd just end up getting blocked which would make matters worse. Preciate your perspective regardless sorry so many people had opinions they felt the need to share with you over your comment on my post. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/09/23 12:40 AM
5 months laterAlright preciate your perspective on the matter. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/09/23 12:38 AM
5 months laterYou're right. I have a routine now through a second morning job that keeps me slightly sober until days off or any sort of free time. I have to look into counseling nothing I can afford currently or maybe I'm just not looking hard enough. Thank you regardless. I won't say it gets easier I still have to go through the divorce process where she finally contacts me just to sign and then it's truly over forever. Honestly deserved for what I put her through so thats on me. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/09/23 12:35 AM
5 months laterI tried AA before can't afford therapy or depend on myself to help my self might be the option that finally sticks. I may have to find a non religious form of AA because I can only fake it so much till I can't stand their standpoint for why they stopped drinking. But yeah the community aspect of it was pretty relatable. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/09/23 12:33 AM
5 months laterThanks I know you're right. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/09/23 12:31 AM
Having dreamsYeah bro that's exactly how I feel right now and she's still living in the next room. Not for long tho We will be okay not today or tomorrow but we will make it through this difficult chapter. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/05/23 12:45 AM
Having dreamsKeep your spirits up as well. I struggle with sleep because of the nightmares it's sad to be trouble both in consciousness and unconsciousness but we are just processing and filtering these feelings till we replace them with new memories and subconscious desires. Preciate your time. I hope to feel more lucid in 4 months time it's all still the beginning. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/05/23 12:21 AM
Having dreamsI'm stopping drinking it's my first step in the right direction. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/05/23 12:19 AM
Having dreamsPretty pathetic that when she's gone dreams and memories will all I look forward to from her. The pains still fresh and deep but in real life I was a nightmare to be around. Hopefully I treat her better in my dreams. Pitiful to say but it's all I have left since I threw our marriage away by drinking. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/05/23 12:08 AM
[Rant] I keep replaying everything she's explained to me of Why this has to happen and I just can not process or listen I keep trying to "fix it".Yeah she's already frustrated I am going on long walks not drinking today. No need to make her angry, just trying to do better before she's gone so at least she won't worry or hate me That's why she's leaving to grow and I also have to take this opportunity to become a better version of who I could be. Before it's too late can't give up just gotta make peace and be respectful. Preciate your good advice I hope to keep that positivity and mind set of working out and working inwards | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/05/23 12:35 AM
[Rant] I keep replaying everything she's explained to me of Why this has to happen and I just can not process or listen I keep trying to "fix it".Yeah we've always broken up but gotten back together finally decided it was worth it to keep trying when I wasn't showing the effort she deserved. Going to the gym today as cliche as it sounds I desperately need to get healthier or else I'll drink myself to death and I know I can be a better man. Thank you for your advice and time of day | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/05/23 06:33 PM
[Rant] I keep replaying everything she's explained to me of Why this has to happen and I just can not process or listen I keep trying to "fix it".I'm going to keep coming back to this message every time I want to be pitiful and hope she cares. I can't thank you enough. I'm going to start tomorrow on the right side of bed and not keep acting the way I have been. Preciate your good advice and meaningful words | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/05/23 01:52 AM
[Rant] I keep replaying everything she's explained to me of Why this has to happen and I just can not process or listen I keep trying to "fix it".I appreciate hearing that. I don't live like I'm young but maybe it's time to start getting healthier and working harder and acting my age. I'm still just the same scared kid who met who he thought was the love of his life. I wish I had loved myself enough to show her a better time together but. I'm not dead yet. Tomorrows a new day to be better and grow up. Thank you for your time and good advice | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/05/23 01:47 AM
Is it just me that went crazy? It's been a whole week of insanity from the time she told me she wasn't happy. To the point where I started drinking and not caring what I said in the moment. To waking up and being nothing but a manic mess saying I understood I would listen and respect her decision to immediately regressing and repeating questions with no good answers. To the unfortunate point where I started self harming and getting blood everywhere and she had to take the knife and call my mother. I'm going insane and it's su… | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/05/23 01:41 AM
[Rant] I keep replaying everything she's explained to me of Why this has to happen and I just can not process or listen I keep trying to "fix it".I appreciate the good advice. I can definitely do some chest and tris tomorrow instead of drinking and dwelling on the past. I gotta start trying and stop wishing. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/05/23 01:29 AM
