Watching podcasts helped fill the lonely quiet hours early on. It gets easier, but it’s never easy. Time will heal your wounds, unfortunately, this is a path that you have to walk every painful step of. You can’t microwave your recovery. You got this man!

Thanks for sharing the thought process. I think the anchor piece is important. It is especially for this kids, the ex-wife wanted the house, so I decided for them to stay and I would re-establish myself. It is certainly hard to ring the doorbell of the place you made a home for 10 years. Lots of sweat equity put into that place….

Fun discussion. In the middle of divorce, you just want the shit split and over with. Hopefully this helps somebody think strategically about it. Each situation is unique.

We were first owners of our house, it is coming up on 11 years old, time for stuff to start breaking. Also, every time I pick up the kids, I am saddened by the state of the yard maintenance, would have never flown on my watch!

I have been renting for the last 18 months, $1,850. 3 bedroom townhouse, have two daughters. Child support is $1,200 a month. So between rent and child support, eats up a lot of the paycheck.

You just put into words what I have been thinking. We give so much and build up relationship equity, for it all to be given up, without effort. I wish I had the opportunity to understand why you weren’t happy and give us the opportunity to try. Communicate.

This is my current arrangement and it works well for me and the kids. The Thursday-Tuesday where it is her weekend gives you a nice break.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
