Just to put things into perspective, when a women cheats, divorce rate is greater than 90%. When a man does it divorce rate is less than 10%. Food for thought.

How can you get out of alimony by simply signed over 50% of assets? Im curious because im in that situation. Id imagine paying out a larger asset would reduce alimony but not eliminate it.

I think you can still be friends with an ex, just not romantic. There has to be boundaries.

If she has a good income and is struggling, that is a red flag. Tread lightly, you've already been through that mess.

Do you hear yourself? You realize slavery was legal in this country for what over 100 years before it wasn't? The moral agency of the government is farcical. Make sense?

I dont give a shit what the government thinks. The government is broken. I am asking a fundamental philosophical question. No one seems to get that? Re read my question.

I agree. We should respect each other and our children. But in terms of monetary value, we were never one, and as a result 50/50split is asinine.

In response to your 4th statement: If she does not touch the assets she will aquire in a divorce, in 15 years she will be worth well over 6 million. More than enough to retire. Thats not even including the child support and alimony for years to come. So no, I don't think she has much to worry about.

Thanks for your warm response. Im getting older and this will definitely delay my retirement. But I guess it is what it is.

I assume you did not sign prenup? Did you split assets 50% Did you try to contest 50 50 in court?

You did not make a cogent argument for or against anything I stated. But thanks anyway.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
