Ah. Well then. You're right, I was making an illogical argument. Retracted.

Because, as another poster pointed out, the societies where people are virgins are the ones where no one has the choice to get a divorce. Put those same people in a society where divorce is more and more common and you'll see more divorces from them.

I think you're trying to blame the correlation on individuals rather than societies. Societies where casual pre-marital sex is common will likely have higher divorce rates.

Women who are virgins at marriage so incredibly faithful because they haven't been spoiled by the experience of the CC, they're more faithful because they're most likely coming from a community were divorce is a complete no-go. Bingo.

My favorite thing about this sub is how it exposes the bullshit trope about how "Women are so oppressed because a woman can't walk down the street at night without being in abject terror! Women spend their entire lives with men's boots on their throats!" Yeah, okay. Video after video of women in men's faces talking about how they'll "fuck them up", video after video of women physically attacking men, video after video of white women calling black men niggers - clearly these are the actions of pe…

The world would be better off without Jessica Valenti. Anyway, I have noticed something about feminists, and I'm wondering if this is a known logical fallacy: feminists will look at something that happens to (or is done by) both men and women. They will then offer an explanation about why the thing happens, but only in the context of when it happens to (or is done by) one half of the population. Then, they use that explanation to say that it's worse, because of the explanation. For example, both…

look, if i went to google and found 6 examples of men abusing women, would you take it as evidence that i should fear all men and assume they're out to get me? What's funny about this is that feminist, when talking about how women are oppressed, routinely site "women being fearful when they walk alone at night" as oppression. See, when women fear all men, not only are they not called paranoid, the simple fact of their fear is used as an example of other people being bad. Secondly, it does not ma…

I've seen cases where there is video evidence of a woman attacking a man with a steel pole. She then drove to the police station and claimed that he attacked her. He was arrested. There's an ongoing case where a group of teenage girls planned to get together and plot how to "get back at" a teenage boy. All of them claimed he raped them. That boy has spent more than a year in jail. Want to get a man kicked out of pretty much any establishment? Complain that he is harassing you. Even if he hasn't …

I don't know. I do know that a person isn't going to do something like that unless they think they can get away with it. Which is, ya know, completely the opposite of the way an actually oppressed person acts.

I agree 100% with your post, but it's so common that people just jump to the conclusion that questioning the benefits of women entering the workforce = they should just get back to the kitchen. Yeah it's a common strawman.

I look back on some of the girls I spent time with during my Asshole Era, and it still pains me to know that if I would’ve allowed myself to behave like a normal, emotionally functioning human being, I might have, like, a wife right now. Or they would have gotten bored and left, as the others did before them.

Well, basically it boils down to what we have known for a long, long time: Men, in general, treat people fairly equally, while women have strong in-group bias. I don't think this is true - men, in general, treat women better than they treat men. The systemic advantages women have are a result of men in power consistently prioritizing women over men. Which puts women in the best possible position: why would more women run for office when the men in office already enact legislation that serves the…

It is manipulation if she is intentionally withholding sex with the intent to, well, manipulate him. It is not manipulation if his not doing the chores honestly causes her to lack an interest in sex.

Not particularly. Are they attempting to influence you to do something which they know will be (and knowingly contribute to the fact of being) harmful to you? If they aren't, I don't think it's a good point. If they are, I'd label that misandry just the same.

Half the shit I say, I say to offend you. Because my thoughts and attitudes are my business, and you don't get to conduct an inquisition and pass judgement on the orthodoxy of my opinions or the moral quality of my thoughts. It's none of your business. So you go out of your way to offend people then pull this bitch ass "it's none of your business what I think" routine? Dawg. Srsly.

Fair enough, but if you're a part of a movement that is about making men's lives better at the expressed expense of women, don't be shocked when people rightly call it misogynistic.

But aren't you, by attempting to bed as many women as possible, trying to convince women to do the very thing you just said will likely negatively affect them later in life?

But if it's possible for you to be promiscuous now and honestly want a LTR later, why is it not the same for a woman?

I meant more in terms of the father who never sees his kids because he spends so much time at the office. See: pretty much every movie in the 80's.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/15 01:23 PM
8

To be honest I've never really wrapped my head around the redpill mentality when it comes to this stuff. Like, a woman being promiscuous means she's bad news, but the entire point of the movement seems to be helping men be as promiscuous as possible.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/15 12:56 PM

If women feel pressure to "have it all" (which has never appealed to me, and this whole "be out of your mind busy" thing that I see bleed into kids' lives seems to be a byproduct of this desire) I imagine they'd feel dissatisfaction if they can't achieve it. What I find ironic about the whole "women having it all" issue is that men have never "had it all", nor have men generally complained about not having it all. If anything, the absent working father has been more of a target of scorn than sym…

I don't think something as widespread as this can be easily explained, but we can probably suggest some influencing factors. I think the common social belief that "women are oppressed" is a contributing factor. The gender conversation has been dominated by feminists, who employ a theoretical framework which makes women being oppressed the only conclusion that can be drawn. Being told repeatedly that you are the victim of a global conspiracy probably isn't much good for the happy making. I someti…

I don't think so, but by the same measure I don't think most men understand the guilt and shame most women feel related to sex.

Nor is there the social stigma of being a "loser virgin", or being someone who "can't get laid".

/r/MensRights21/05/15 02:38 PM

I have to admit I feel sorry for the administrators in this situation. I mean, it's obvious this girl is only accusing the guy of rape because she's angry at him. Any reasonable person would look at the facts of the case and conclude the same thing. However, they have to worry about their appearance. They have to worry about not looking "tough enough" on sexual assault cases. And they know that any and all rape accusations are going to be believed by the general public. So their hands are essent…

Abusive =/= crazy. "Don't stick your dick in crazy" isn't warning guys not to associate with schizophrenics, it's warning guys not to associate with abusers.
/r/MensRights17/05/15 04:21 PM
6

My biggest problem with the female abuser/abused male dynamic is the rigging of the availability heuristic to maintain the status quo. "Everybody knows" abuse is something men do to women, therefore men who experience abuse by women are reluctant to speak up about it (while women who experience abuse by men are encouraged to do so). Which reinforces the belief that abuse is only done by men and to women, which further encourages men to be silent and women to speak up. It's entirely fucked.
/r/MensRights17/05/15 02:31 PM

This is a good point. "Don't stick your dick in crazy" both excuses abusive behavior as "crazy" (and therefore not her fault, morally), and puts responsibility on the victim (for choosing to stick his dick in her).

Eh, it makes sense to show gratitude that someone else is looking out for you. It just makes no sense to me that it's so shocking when it occurs so often.

What gets me is the pervasive narrative that women are being beaten/raped/stalked on a daily basis and society does nothing or condones it (aka "rape culture"). And when a woman shares an experience that goes against the idea that men harassing/assaulting women is commonly accepted behavior, she (and everyone else) talks about how amazed they are by it. And then another woman shares a similar story. And another, and another, and another. And I just wonder how many "some random stranger spoke up/…

Equal rights only in areas where one group is lacking =/= Equal rights. Lets not forget that RIGHT NOW AS WE SPEAK men are required to register with the selective service while women are exempt, so voting rights are NOT equal between men and women.
/r/MensRights15/05/15 01:12 PM
23

Serious question: was feminism ever actually about promoting gender equality? Everyone claims that the women's suffrage movement was about gender equality with regards to voting rights, but ignore the relationship between the vote and the draft. So it was never actual equality suffragettes were fighting for, but "voting as an entitlement" for women while "voting with the reciprocal obligation of possible conscription" for men. More broadly, every avenue of "equality" feminists have fought for ha…
