You support Milton Friedman? Well be prepared...and stop whining, it doesn't suit you.

Also, I am getting awfully sick of the bashing TRP gets around here. Sorry Karen, but not everyone is far right wing/a hair short of fascist. You'll have to learn to live with that. Love your work, if not your loopy politics/economics. :)

The title seems to be using that phrase in the general "uncovering the uncomfortable truth" sense. We're all aware of that. The problem is that a great many people after watching the documentary may google "The Red Pill" and end up (first result) on a website that is rather sexist if not downright misogynist, thus "proving" the points made by feminists in the film itself. The average IQ barely scratches 100, and feminists have continually conflated Men's Rights with the Red Pill subreddit (and "…

I keep telling you guys, these people are full of shit, the most they can do is try to harass people they don't have the damn intelligence do do anything else more serious. A year ago I would have agreed with you, but check out the recent case of a Canadian man facing six months in prison for disagreeing with a feminist on Twitter (she called it "harassment").

I love dad jokes. I find them lol funny precisely because they are so lame. Exhibit A: Norm Macdonald's brilliant roast of Bob Saget: http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/661a77b3da/norm-macdonald-trolls-the-bob-saget-roast?_cc=__d___&_ccid=vn9yfl.nw5w8j

"The hatred of males" is actually a really good definition for feminism.

An "echo chamber" that apparently encompasses every single major news source.

The film looks like it will offer a fair portrayal, I already said that. But the title presents a massive problem. As mentioned, almost every single hit piece written about the MRM, from Vice to Cracked to Time to GQ to the Huffington Post to the Guardian to the daily blatherings of Dave Futrelle have made an explicit and profoundly dishonest attempt to conflate us with R/TheRedPill. In light of this, why do you think we should not condemn the choice of title? If the director were to indicate th…

What possible justification do you have for supporting the choice of title when just about every single hit piece ever written about the MRM conflates us with R/TheRedPill and the misogynist beliefs therein? Surely you recognize, at minimum, that it was an absolutely terrible choice, especially if the filmmaker is sympathetic to men's rights?

Exactly. We forget that at least 90% of the population hasn't the slightest clue about the massive differences between various factions of the "manosphere." Feminists like Dave Futrelle simply lump everyone together, and the director, even if she is sympathetic to men's rights, is (unwittingly?) doing exactly the same thing. Forget "Red Pill." This film could be a poison pill. She might as well have made a film about feminism entitled "Cosmo magazine." Anyone who watches it and wants to learn mo…

It's even more shocking given that she has supposedly researched the issue in depth. What the fuck was she thinking? Paul Elam may not care about being linked to TheRedPill but I can assure you that many of us do.

Yep. She either needs to change the title or publicly state that she will make the distinction in the film. Otherwise this documentary may well do more harm than good. People will watch the film, google the term then come upon the Red Pill sub and the blatant sexism/far right wing beliefs therein. Conclusion: the feminists were right!

Out of all the possible titles she could have chosen, this is literally the worst one for promoting Men's Rights. Second worst would be "Return of Kings" with a guest appearance by Roosh V discussing the potential legality of rape on private property.

Even the trailer shows an MSNBC clip conflating Reddit's TheRedPill with Men's Rights. So she was clearly aware of the propaganda when she chose the title. The first entry for "Red Pill" in a Google search leads to that sub. Unless she is willing to state that she will draw a distinction in the film between the "manosphere" as a whole (including fascist websites like Return of Kings) and Men's Rights then I have no interest in furthering the disinformation campaign by donating. The single most c…

She couldn't have chosen a worse title if she tried. Is she not aware that every single hit piece ever written about the MRM attempts to conflate Men's Rights with R/The Red Pill, pick-up artists and neo-masculinists? Also, there is a disturbing lack of Honey Badgers in the preview. Where the hell is Karen Straughan? Overall looks like a fairly balanced take. But I can't in good conscience donate to a project that may well end up a hit piece.

...with one vital difference: Under patriarchies both sexes are disadvantaged in certain ways. In that sense they are more gender egalitarian than our own societies. Under feminism males are expected to retain the fundamentals of their gender role (workhorse, provider, protector) with none of the benefits. It is unbelievably audacious of feminists to demand that men continue to fulfill their gender role -- up to and including dying for women -- when males no longer receive any benefit from said …

I like to think that we have it pretty good here actually From what I've read, Sweden seems like a great country to live in overall. You just need to give the radfems the boot. She argued that forklift drivers were conditioned to rape because they never asked the consent when penetrating the holes of a pallet with the forklift. :D As a former forklift driver that's hilarious. Stop rape culture! Pallets must consent!

Then one day I stumbled upon a Karen Straughan video about the disposable male and never looked back. GWW: Gateway drug to the MRM. I too was first exposed to the MRM via Straughan. I can't imagine how much feminists must despise that woman. I hope she stays safe.

All that along with the fact that things aren't that bad for men here, there's basically no circumcision, they actually removed mandatory military service several years ago, child support is kept pretty reasonable, yeah the courts are biased when it comes to custody but shared custody is actually the default. Among other things. Wow. I didn't realize that. Sounds like men in Sweden may actually have it better than men in the Anglosphere. In North America we've maintained all of the traditionalis…

Canada also has a tradition of citizens going out of their way to care for one another, and I think this may help motivate some activists on both sides. Interesting point. It's important to remember that the MRM is not primarily made up of tradcons but people who are actually "progressive" (rather than faux-progressive) in terms of advancing the rights and well-being of men and boys. Americans may be more split because the debate tends to focus on conservatism/traditionalism vs. social liberals.…

That seems plausible, but what about Sweden? They are the most feminist society in the world but don't appear to have a MRM of any note. Or perhaps I'm just not aware of it due to the language barrier.

To my knowledge there has never been a legitimate critique of the MRM. Almost all of the criticism is based on lies or focusses on Red Pill/neomasculinist type stuff that most MRA's don't even support.

Lorde took to Twitter explaining how the scene actually allowed her to live out a long time fantasy of hers. She wrote, “’one of my life goals has always been ‘to one day play a hitgirl who pretends to seduce then burns alive douche boyfriends[.]’” Sick cunt. If you don't like douche bags then don't date them.

Let's try again then: you sound like a victim cult feminist and I don't care. ;-) Like I said, I don't care about your feelz. Stop pouting and make an argument.

Sorry to say, but you sound like a victim cult feminist. I don't care how your feelz are affected. If you can present an argument how society often views men as "less responsible" for their actions than women then make it.

There used to be Eugenics studies in every major university. Then the Nazis happened. Gender studies teaches hatred against men and boys, and should go the same way as Eugenics studies. Either that are they need to be pressured to stop it with their hateful, ahistorical, non-scientific approach and incorporate other voices.

There are situations where men are considered less responsible. No, there aren't. "Boys will be boys" comes to mind. The term "boys will be boys" was traditionally used to allow boys to be rambunctious, as their nature dictates. Now we drug them and arrest them for "sexual harassment" over kissing a girl on a dare. Sometimes it seems that women are judged more harshly. Not in court, that's for sure. Seeping around damages more the reputation of women That's because female sexuality is regarded a…

Meryl Streep refusing to call herself a feminist is a positive sign. Hollywood actors are closely attuned to social attitudes. They know which way the wind is blowing. Unfortunately Streep just finished a propaganda film about the suffragettes which I suspect is revisionist bullshit. The author of this piece is another indicator of feminist decline. She writes: I should probably take the opportunity to admit this: I was once a feminist, but I decided a few months ago that I’m not a feminist anym…

Great post. Feminists are well aware of this tendency, and have even discussed it as an example of male privilege (!) Anita Sarkeesian has talked about the male as "actor" and the female as "acted upon." Yet they hypocritically use these same social attitudes to push policies designed to alleviate all responsibility from women. If we could generate energy from feminist hypocrisy we would have enough electricity to last a thousand generations.
