I think at some point everyone needs to hear, “pick a path, walk it, and you’ll heal eventually”. Nice.

Tough as I’m not in that same situation. I based my decision off of never wanting kids and realizing a vasectomy would make my like so much easier, that’s it. Not about being angry or anything, just that reason. Maybe freeze some sperm if you are considering getting snipped but also might want kids with someone else. Sorry it ended up that way but get yourself a damn paternity test before you do anything.

I got a vasectomy and had tons of unprotected sex after. Girls wouldn’t even ask when I would put it in raw and I never asked if they were on birth control, which I think most girls never have such “heat of the moment fuck the consequences” sex with a stranger. When I told them after, a majority would want to meet again for more consequence free gut paintings, they loved it. Truthfully, a lot of girls let their guard down when I told them I never wanted kids and would talk about how nice it is t…

I love powerlifting. But when covid hit and gyms closed I switched to running more and calisthenics. That costs $0. You think military people need fancy gyms to stay strong and tough? Go find a local playground and work up to pull ups and dips and inverted rows, etc. you could even buy a pair of elastic bands for cheap. Just YouTube search bodyweight fitness or join the sub BodyweightFitness So being broke is no excuse for not being in shape because running and calisthenics are free. The world d…

Then stop seeking a stamp of approval from a woman or anyone else. Nobody wants to hear “just keep working on yourself and it’ll eventually make sense” but that’s the truth. Don’t worry about what others think. Don’t worry about you haven’t achieved XYZ yet. Just focus on doing the daily, weekly, monthly things that inch you closer to your goals. I had to learn to not seek joy from being praised and train my brain to seek joy in doing the hard things that I knew would pay off later. Sucks but re…

First step is to realize that confidence is not “she/they will like me”, confidence is “I’ll be fine if they don’t”. Next is to realize that confidence is actually “I will like me even if she/they don’t”. It’s normal to have some anger as you transition in life to more self reflection. Just use that to fuel your self transformation, and not your self destruction. Being the prize is something you develop after you show yourself you can stick to a diet, to hobbies, to being reliable for others, to…

Watch this. It totally changed my approach. Most of what you see in porn isn’t that great of advice but this is. The Vice article is also good. Don’t rush straight for the clit, play with her entire body and I like to just cup my hand over the vulva and hold it there for a bit while making out and then run my hands around her legs. Using fingers and mouth at the same time is great. Sometimes curling/massaging the finger against her G spot is the move, other times, inverting your palm so your fin…

One day. One goal. One task at a time. Journal a lot. Know the stages of grief. Understand how to observe your internal dialogue (mindfulness). Do hard stuff. Find what you need to remove from life.

I asked my horse. He says neigh. Truth is nobody had sympathy for me when I was in my rage phase (it sucked). But it was the tough love of this sub that helped me accept and internalize it all.

People are crying about this behavior being “sad”, “unfair”, and “not nice”. But it’s a day 1 truth to accept. Trying to view women’s behavior through the lens of modern “traditional” relationship values acts like people can ignore tens of thousands of years of human behavior. They don’t want to accept that they could possibly give something (love/commitment) that isn’t fully reciprocated. This thread tells me there’s a lot of chumps who refuse to read and accept the sidebar. No women will love …

For me, I read no more mr nice guy twice and a lot clicked. You have a right to happiness and fulfillment. I journaled a lot to get my thoughts, pains, fears, goals, etc out in the open. Then built plans around how to change the life I had into the life I wanted. Just make a little progress each day. I’ve been unplugged for 4-5 years and eventually you won’t need to check in here or as questions all the time. But for now, focus on where you want to go next, try shit, fail at it, laugh and try ag…

I had mine done about your age, absolutely loved it. If you know, you know. Don’t give a fuck about what you’re “supposed” to do. I don’t think I’m supposed to make copies of myself any more than I think I’m supposed to be a “Happy wife, happy life beta”. Do it.

Good for you for realizing it at 18. I was 24 and in a 3 year LTR, some guys don’t find it until their 30s/40s/50s. Honestly what helped me was to write everything down somewhere in like a google doc - things you thought and what you see now both from books/posts and what behavior you see in reality from girls. Venting it in the anger phase was helpful to see my thoughts and overcome them. Understand yourself and then start to chart a course towards things you want in life even if it’s different…

Ditch her fast. She’ll forget about it and move on quick. Id go bang a few girls off tinder or you meet in a bar for a few weeks and then go back to focus on yourself. Clearly you’ve got a long way to go. You should never tolerate emotional abuse, but it also usually means you’ve acted in a way that makes them feel they can abuse you. Maybe you’re too reactive or needy or whatever. TL;DR: break up, bang girls, reflect on your mistakes/poor choices, be better

I feel lucky that I never wanted kids, because it seems like so much more struggle to deal with finding the right woman to raise your child with, in addition to figuring out who the hell you are. I respect you guys for figuring out how to do both.

You’re always going to get shit like this at almost any level. The thing to internalize is that you’re not seeing this as a conquest of who is right like a logical debate (that already makes you the loser). When you get comfortable with it, she won’t hear that you’re agreeing, she’ll just feel like she threw something at you and you didn’t flinch. She doesn’t care about the argument, she cares about getting a rise out of you or making you defensive.

Do not want kids. Got a vasectomy in my mid-20s. Had a low interest in having kids all my life and finding TRP opened my eyes to likely a life of divorce and split custody (as my parents did). Add onto that the manipulation you have to deal with from her and the kids to keep the peace and being Child Free took about 3 days to decide was the right move. No regrets, it lets me date on my own terms as I'm open about it.

Yes, as the others are saying, if she’s really attracted to you. Note that if she initiates and you reject for some reason, it’s going to make her much less likely to initiate in the future. I’ve had fuck buddies text all the time to “hang out” or for me to come over or when they can see me. Don’t make a big deal about it, don’t always be available, but do enjoy it as most guys aren’t in a situation like that.

Fill your time pursuing things you want and that make you better. You will eventually see him fall out of your life, for the better. It’s not your responsibility to bring him out of the swamp he’s built for himself. If you’re feeling extra kind, you can extend a few book or idea recommendations, but sounds like you’ll be wasting your time.

Go for a run and unfuck yourself. It’s not about a pill or a philosophy. It’s: can you figure out what you want to become, can you figure out what’s holding you back from that, and can you be aggressive/resourceful enough to get your ass there? Everything else falls into place after that. Fail early and often, adjust, try again. Be patient and you’ll work towards a better life. Or take shortcuts/blame others and continue to cry yourself to sleep at night. It’s your choice from today onward.

That relationship ended about 8 months later. I went hard red after being blue the entire time and she cheated on me. Being able to emotionally detach/A&A/etc helped me gain back some control over the relationship at first. But as I worked more on me, I became so angry that instead of stepping in and acknowledging we needed to break up, I just kept turning up the heat until it all burned down. It needed to end and life’s way better now, but looking back I should have ended it earlier. I was just…

Very good. Fleshes out some key things and ties them together after a few years in this sub. Plenty of misconceptions can be cleared up for young RPers, too - such as not trying to be mysterious but really you’re just avoiding emotional conquest. Comparing her losing interest once she has met her goal to a guy losing interest once he fucks a new chick paints a clear picture and would be important to learn early here. Sticky this.

Good for you. I often reflect on “Which is better, to be born good or to overcome your evil nature through great effort?” Sometimes your evil nature isn’t that you murder people, but that you naturally want to take the easy way out at every turn or that you procrastinate. Anything you naturally do that prevents you from getting the life you want. Watch yourself, don’t judge yourself as good or bad because of it, then correct the things that hold you back. Good luck.

Don’t overthink this and don’t be afraid to fuck up. You just started this journey and it probably feels crazy that it’s working. Do things because you want to, in a non-needy way. When I started, I forced myself to get comfortable being very direct and not “beat around the bush”. If you want to see her for sex, text her “let’s get a drink, tell me your schedule the next few days” or “where are you tonight? Often we crave what we crave because we didn’t get enough as a kid. TRP is not your psychiatrist, but to have happiness you must overcome problems. Sounds like you’re looking for happiness from external sources, when in reality, if you want to take this shit (and your own happiness and well being) seriously, you have to put yourself at the center of your world. Understand yourself before you can share yourself and understand others. You feel empty doing those things because you haven’t figured y…

Was in an LTR for about 2.5 years at the time. We were struggling but I believed I was doing all the normal things to make things better. Was mowing the grass outside after cleaning the house all day and she came back from lunch and started yelling at me for eating her leftovers. I knew life wasn’t supposed to be like that, so I started digging and digging until I found TRP. Sidebar posts and books was like a revelation. That was 3.5 years ago.

Counter-arguments for OP on these as someone who had it done a few years ago: This is a weird RP adage that I don't understand - my sex life is much better after both parties know there's no way to get pregnant. I'll let you know when I find the girls that don't like consequence-free sex. 2+ years after surgery and have yet to get any response other than increased interest after telling them. I'm so laser-focused on what I do/don't want from life I'm willing to go under the knife for it or walk …

I just ask if she wants kids. If she does, then that's great, but I never will and can never give them to her. There are tons of CF women out there and I don't care to make a girl think one day we might have kids together.

Yep, way fewer games to be played if both people aren't looking for kids. The "Women aren't attracted to sterile men" adage is one of the weirdest things I've heard in this community and since getting snipped 2+ years ago, my sex life strongly disagrees.

OP, I had one done when I was 26. Never wanted kids and never wanted to have an accident and raise a kid I didn't want. You'll get some mixed responses here, but focus on what helps move you towards your goals in life. Peace of mind to pursue your life without an accident is priceless. Sounds like you'll have the $ to use the sperm you've saved. I say 100% go for it. Procedure and recovery weren't bad at all. Getting out of “the grind” and stepping into the “furnace” of being self-employed is not for the weak of mind or spirit. The grass is always greener, until your bank account has been overdrafted so long they’re threatening to close it. Not saying don’t try to be self-employed or an entrepreneur, but the reality is so crazy difficult, that if you can picture yourself happy doing anything else, do that instead.

Brazilian jiu jitsu. Or try Judo, muy Thai, or wrestling. Or maybe rock climbing or something if you don’t like people. Masculinity to me comes from being faced with a physical and mental challenge and overcoming it. The above will put you on that path.

Your body needs some physical activity and challenge, but it didn’t have to be starting strength every time. Consider taking judo or BJJ, or get a bike, train for a 5k, etc. tweak your life and remember, motivation fades when you no longer “feel good”. Don’t count on motivation, count in discipline.

“I look like an animal and I’ll fuck you like one, too, baby” Lifting and music are great hobbies, but it sounds like you’re just doing them to get girls. What do you really want to do? I work at a bar and have been propositioned several times, but I all but one time turn it down because it feels like it’s too easy. Or like an abuse of power. Maybe I care too much about keeping my public/private personas separate. I’m also trying to break the fact I get off on having temptation and walking away, probably a deep seated retaliation move to feel better about times people walked away on me while I was BP.

What gave me success as a BioE undergrad and beyond: spray notes and thoughts from class onto paper; rewrite and reorganize those thoughts and notes on a new sheet(s) of paper; repeat one more time to slim down to more of an explanation vs the equations/examples. Ask for help when you need it. It taught me how to look at complicated topics and strip down the most important facts and then reword it in my own words. Learning to study is like learning everything, just takes concentrated effort.

There’s no easy path or shortcut. In the beginning your only goal is to say hello, talk about whatever you want, and get comfortable actually approaching people. Forget game or lines or strategy, just talk to a few random strangers each day about whatever you want, listen to their response, and try to keep it going. You’ll suck. It’ll be awkward. You’ll be rejected. Just keep doing it daily and you’ll get more comfortable. Eventually try moving the conversation where you want it to go, to gettin…

Unfortunately if you're out of hs, this type of news doesn't just spread around like wildfire. My dick is three hand lengths tall. I would say "absolutely not". She grew cold recently, I don't know all the details of why, but I'd guess you started acting some type of way and she was turned off. At this point there's nothing to lose and everything to gain, so set up your intentions from the start and continue going about your life regardless.

Plate "were coming up on our 1 year since we met!" Me "and I still haven't cum in your mouth yet" Plate "how rude of you" Vulgar, but the idea is she wanted to take the conversation a place I refused to go, so I set the tone. That's the big idea, rejecting someone's attempt to steer you into their own narrative.

Good for you on improving yourself. Like you noted, you're going to need a new circle of friends. If you have a reputation of being stepped on, make it clear you don't tolerate that anymore and then cut out anyone who doesn't respect that. Keep working at it little by little!

You're clearly making progress, which is great. Don't worry about the specific details, just keep pushing the envelope a little each day (interacting with girls and developing yourself). Don't worry about experience or what other people have done so much. Try, fail, tweak, repeat.

In the power of habit, they mention making an index card everytime you do a habit you don't want to (jerking off or hours browsing). Then after a week or two look at it. What seems automatic will slowly drift into your awareness, giving you the ability to say no and do something else. Gotta state the obvious and say that you need to find new friends that you can hang out with or do hobbies with.

You're asking about nitty gritty "tactics", but you really must first solve this big picture shit. If you're dating someone to fit in with a community, rather than because you want to, you're conceding that other people's opinions of you will always be more important than your opinion of yourself. If that's the case, this isn't the sub for you. There are no "short cut alpha tactix".

Hey man, props for trying to come out of your shell! That being said, I can tell you have a lot of mental barriers and misconceptions holding you back. Don't worry, we all started there. Focus first on you, being a stronger/smarter pizzathrow33. Girls are ok with casual sex with a guy they think has value, that's the plain truth. Don't worry about being perceived a certain way. Don't worry about having X girls before a girlfriend. In simple terms: try, fail, tweak, try, fail, tweak, try, fail, t…

You doing 10 minutes of cardio and 20 seconds of planks is like googling a picture of a German dictionary and complaining that you don't know how to speak German. There is no substitute for discipline and hard work, ever. If you are serious about this, start running 5 miles a week, then work up to 15-20 over 3-4 months. Track your progress. You cannot spot reduce. Sweat. Grind. No fucking slack.

Yep, I did something similar over the summer. I simply overplayed my hand with the teasing that we couldn't hook up that night. Part of it came from a place that enjoyed watching her get sexually frustrated - as girls have made me feel, and part of it came from pure curiosity to push it as far as I could. We didn't fuck. Learn from the mistake and go forward.

I just read a book by two Navy Seals that apply their lessons in the military to business/real world. It largely revolves around the idea of extreme ownership (title of the book). Good info on being a competent leader, including to yourself, and not being a victim. Would be worth a read/listen to anyone interested!

To share yourself you have to know yourself. Archwinger makes a great post here. You never have to justify yourself to anyone except yourself and those you choose. You're seeing the light and making the small changes, that's great. You're frame in this interaction is rusty, but you held on when she brought up her coworkers. She's gotten comfortable (sitting around and being tired all the time) and you have too. You learn a lot from reading, but you learn so much more by doing, fucking up, and co…

Now, I'd say it's like a 3, maybe less because of inflation due to habit. 6 months from now I'd have a small apartment, plates, and generally be focused all on myself and what I want. This is important. The newfound knowledge here put me in the bad build up category and it's been like spinning tires in the mud. That really sucks man. I'm sorry. It sucks being unsure of what other people are up to. The main takeaway here at TRP is that the only person you can control and improve is yourself. Take some time and really just focus on yourself, how you eat, dress, spend your free time, work out, etc. Think "am I content or could I be achieving more?". Make sure you warm up and stretch before you start working out (~10 mins for me). I always do a little extra shoulder stretching and light weight shoulder exercises, you don't want to fuck up your shoulders!! Day 1 I'd recommend starting strength or similar. Watch a ton of YouTube videos and practice barbell exercises with a broom stick. After a few months you'll figure out where your weaknesses are and can address them with assistance exercises. Do pull ups/chin ups especially if the gym has a …

My ltr basically hates kids. It makes me comfortable to know she'd never try to get pregnant on purpose. I know that we will spend our money in our 20s on cool shit/adventures.

Thank you for the thoughtful reply! I'm planning to try and do something every other week-ish, but not the same day every time. She hates surprises and I kinda love watching her flair and moan when I only give her half the details.

Thanks professor! I never really went on dates, so when she's said "even high school guys know how to take their gfs on dates" it didn't help my confusion on what constitutes a date. Your point is what I am probably missing most, a date is easier to describe as a date if it's a SERIES of fun little activities together. A date = an eventful evening with the two of us. I was thinking a date = we do something together outside of sitting at home. Blue pill me wants to prevent her from thinking I nev…

Hey, the thing you said about overlap is like a light bulb! There are things that we do that I think are a lot of fun that she... Feels less so. (me, extrovert; her, introvert) I'll keep this advice in mind. Problem is that she says she's fine with just staying at home. I think I know of some things she'd like, I'll try to weight the activities in her interest this time and see what happens.

I will look it up. Problem is that I've always just done stuff I wanted to do and asked her to join me if she wanted to. I've blown off her mentioning this before but now that I'm working through TRP, I'm seeing them as comfort tests. So the problem is: if I don't say "THIS IS A DATE" or something similar, and we just do stuff together, I get this comfort test every few months. Other than being somewhat explicit, idk how to make her feel like we're on a date. The only other thing I can think of …

I have tried to document when I get angry and why. A lot of it is general rage that comes from unplugging, but I've been able to look over my notes and make direct improvements. Use the anger to to enlighten yourself about yourself.

"and remember that only you can make yourself happy" The last part is the single most important thing that "clicked" for me. I always thought if I could make girls happy, they would return the favor by making me happy. Nope, just emotional bullshit. See it for what if is. Love yourself and others will be drawn to you.

Practice simple mindfulness. Sit with your eyes closed and focus on sounds around you. Soon all kinds of thoughts will pop in your head. Don't try to engage them, just let them come and go. Notice when you do engage them how you feel. Notice when you don't how you feel. Soon you'll be able to let thoughts pass without interacting with them just by acknowledging them. When you get used to it, you'll notice in the day that when a stressful thought comes up, you can just let it go and not be bother…

I'll rephrase your question: if you thought you were red pill, would you have to ask "am I blue pill?" if you said yes, you do not understand the difference in the two. Understand the concept of AWALT and your girlfriend drinking and partying without you. Are you willing to accept that? I honestly could believe she didn't flirt with anyone the entire time, but I'd be lying to myself as I am still unplugging. You waited 3 days before assuming you would get sex: blue pill (unless she was on her pe…

Trial and error way back in elementary and middle and high school. Sometimes you'll come across as just blurting out things, but just figure it out live with people, really. Just start talking and see how people respond when the situation ends, calibrate, repeat. I read "Be more chill" in 9th grade (fiction) and learned to become outcome independent, aka don't give a fuck, in my teens while trying to lead a conversation. OI is so important in everything! It'll be awkward at first, embrace it. Tr…

I lost my virginity at 19, the night Obama got elected, to my friends hot mom, you'll be fine. Looking back there were maybe 4 or 5 different times a girl was clearly wanting to fuck after an intense make out session or something and I just either missed the cues or thought it'd be fun to have crazy will power, such regret! Ha. Next time you're making out, start being a little rough after a few minutes, then tell her to jerk you off while you put her hand on your dick over your pants. I used to …

Yeah, I think I'm going to go ahead and admit my mistake (to myself not her) and hold myself accountable to my previous engagements. It's rare this happens, hopefully it won't occur again! I'm still trying to decide when it's ok to have her be pissed as hell for doing something I wanted to do and when I'm moving too fast.

It's a guy and a girl and we all went to the same school. She knows I'm not crazy about them, but I feel like since I committed earlier, I made the mistake in scheduling on top of plan A. A while back I tried to establish the mindset of "if you don't want to do something with me, you don't have to. Likewise, if I don't want to do something with you, I won't." I dont think that holds up in this situation though. It's not the end of the world, but I'm in the beginning/semi rage phase where I see a…

Florence, Italy was pretty amazing. Walk to pianzalle de Michelangelo (horrible spelling I'm sure) and watch the sun set, go the the street market. Just wander around! Dublin was also badass along with Barcelona. I'd take the subway up to the very northern/hilly part of Barcelona and wander around outside the city.

Thanks for the comment, really boosts confidence to hear similar success stories, despite the BB gut saying I am mean now or should just ask what she wants. I used to think if she asked to cuddle and I said no she would blow up, yell, basically threaten to break up with me and instead she doesn't really do anything, just goes back to whatever she was doing. Occasionally she'll beg repeatedly, still trying to decide if I now have to stand firm or if it's a comfort test. I air on the side of super…

While you're learning, experiment with really small things. I used to always text when I was leaving the gym, now I don't because she's not my parents. I also am experimenting with saying no directly more often. Just say it and see how it feels and what she does. It can be regarding anything you don't really want to do, but would previously do just to keep her happy. You'll realize girls don't always want the thing they're asking for, they just want SOMETHING from you. Her reaction will likely n…

I've been experimenting with saying no, like if she says she wants a foot rub like she does all the time. Some have said it's a comfort test, but I think it's a compliance thing. Is it too much of a nuclear/overdoing it if I were to literally say suck my dick first (or anything sexual) any time she wants something? At least to experiment with her reactions? Shit tests have slowed a little the past month or two. I want to convey that my actions and words represent the sole leader of the relations…

If a&a isn't working and you feel she's being malicious, you can look her in the eye and say (stoic, not emotionally) "that's enough. You're being disrespectful and I will not tolerate it." if the next thing out of her mouth is anything but an apology, don't argue, don't explain, don't bargain, flip the dread on and ignore her by doing something else, like leaving in your car, going to fix something, whatever. The trick is not seeming butt hurt and that comes from maintaining a dominant frame.

This first part resonates so hard with me, I used to think I preferred a girl to just tell me straight up with words. Things have gotten a lot better since TRP!

If it makes me anxious to do it, I should probably do it then. I stop A&A when I felt she would get legit mad, I shouldn't give a fuck if she does because it'll lead to more shit tests that I can see through as she flails around in her anger, then step back and say I'm not going to be talked to like this and get up and go in the other room, or if we're out at dinner, just say that and don't talk to her the rest of the night until she cracks first? The more I go through trp stuff, the less I thin…

Thanks. I need to get back to idgaf, I used to be that way but we had some big arguments about how I acted like her feelings didn't matter and she didn't want to be with someone who didn't think her feelings were serious. All shit tests I failed. Commerce the eggshell walk. It's about building myself up to rise back out of the hole I have dug. Can you ever concede her point? Ex. She was bitching about me slamming the door and waking her up from a nap terrified. I just nodded and smirked until sh…

The power of saying no. 1 week in. Today my niece repeatedly asked me to buy her a toy at the store and I said no each time. She was never phased and ran to look at something else and then come back and ask me to buy it for her. I realized she didn't really want any specific thing, she just wanted me to buy her SOMETHING. I'm realizing AWALT, they don't really want what they're asking for, they just want to see where your boundaries are. It's so empowering to realize what is happening.

I would keep that as a possibility. I'm new here, but it seems consistent advice that if you act beta for long enough, she'll start seeking alpha actions from another outlet, even if she doesn't realize it/denies it

Nice, you maintain frame by being unaffected! I just wonder if I see things as subtle wins, she does too. Otherwise, in my mind I'm building positive momentum but to her, I'm right where I was when she acted out and I caved. If only there were a way to graph this, but I suppose you'd notice it via her actions?
/r/askTRP17/06/15 05:06 PM

Exactly! Girls behavior and shit tests aren't really random, they actually give pretty decent insight on what you've been doing wrong or to come across as doormat-y. Use it to your advantage, remain calm, profit.

It's good that you recognize your mistakes to hopefully prevent them in future relationships, or if you somehow manage to right this ship. Problem is that there's not a linear relationship between your mistake and the amount you'll have to do mentally and non verbally to undo her seeing you as being apologetic and doormat-y. One thing I'm picking up here that's important is never apologize for something out of your control, or that validates her undesirable action.
