You havnt seen anyone like that. No one gains enough mass from 3 months of 5x5 to look what you are describing. I've run many people through 5x5 for 6 months then put them on a hybrid split and they out lift and are bigger than others who have been hypertrophy from novice. To many people like you are blowing the "oh 5x5 doesn't make you look good" way out of proportion. It's seems many say it to sound like they know what they are talking about.
