Pool of prospects is a little shallow ATM...it should be better in a couple months
/r/askTRP20/06/18 06:55 PM
1

Possibly. Elaborate for me a bit
/r/askTRP20/06/18 05:43 PM

What's with the anger, man? I asked a question, I had my own opinion. I'm not gonna tell you to fuck off, but I'm explaining in the hopes of being enlightened. If that's your patience level, then this conversation is probably over.

I only know the group through A. Why burn the bridge when I could negotiate through?
/r/askTRP20/06/18 02:37 PM

I've never been 'as I am'. I've constantly been trying to change who I am to evolve into a better trp style guy. All I am now is miserable. It can't get much worse.
/r/askTRP08/06/18 08:39 PM
1

I want all those things . But I don't know why I want them or if I want them because everyone tells me those are desirable. How many things all just for chicks, man? I don't want the high maintenance ones anyway. I have no idea who the fuck I am or what I like and I'm tired of playing by anyone's script including trp!

There are many different kinds of meditation.find what works for you. Even dedicated music practice can be a great substitute. Do slow jogging for 15 mins then. Just till you get in the zone. Don't make excuses. Find solutions.
/r/askTRP04/06/18 12:56 AM
2

Start meditating. Your whole issue is that you're constantly getting kicked out of being present. Any form of mindfulness will keep the racing thoughts from taking over. Trust me, I went from having anxiety attacks a few months ago to exactly none, after spending 30 minutes a day as often as I could. If you're still having issues on a particular day before working out, Sprint on the treadmill. Guarantee it'll make you feel better. you got this!
/r/askTRP04/06/18 12:18 AM

Explain that a little bit will ya, everyone copes with things so I'm not sure what you're getting at
/r/askTRP27/05/18 11:46 AM
1

It's more like this: If you're my friend, why do you feel the need to do that? I'm often wondering, "Is this a shit test? Are they saying it to monitor my reaction or to get tacit approval for further action?"
/r/askTRP21/03/17 08:16 PM
1

I guess you're right. I'm often masking my anger when someone takes a potshot at me under the guise of being "brutally honest" and I don't know whether reacting strongly is the correct social reaction or something I'd have to let go of.
/r/askTRP21/03/17 07:58 PM
1

I get what you mean. But it's hard to make a lot of this happen without the expanding or new social circle. What would you recommend for a lot more social exposure/meeting a new group?
/r/askTRP21/03/17 07:57 PM
1

True, I'm not confident in social settings. Figured getting out more socially would make me better at it.
/r/askTRP21/03/17 07:12 PM
1

Tell me more - I'm wondering what you might mean by "self conscience walls".
/r/askTRP21/03/17 07:11 PM
1

Thought mimicking extroverted behaviors would make me more social. How do you not be needy/uncomfrotablr when you're not as socially skilled?
/r/askTRP21/03/17 07:10 PM
1

why are you in and out of the hospital all the time? Injuries. Not illnesses. Let me correct what I should have said: I think it's shameful to hide forever. Waiting for your moment is one thing, hiding from reality is another. Yes, I do care what they think, because there are lots of networking opportunities that I could use.
/r/askTRP19/02/17 04:53 PM
1

It could. I could network and makes lots of contacts, and while I may not have gotten along with a lot of those guys, I've started to understand abundance and I know I won't be seeking approval as much since i know I can always meet other people.

When I really look back, I hit rock bottom around Sept 2015, 6 months after the breakup. I became totally socially isolated out of fear, hatred, paranoia. I had no work ethic and I went up to 180lbs and no muscle. After that I began constantly forcing myself out of my comfort zone, I went to house parties, joined a rock climbing club, started cold approaching women during the day, lost 38 pounds and even went on a few dates in 2016. 2016 was actually a really great wake-up year for me. I became …

I could be a great father. Not a non sequitur, just the first thing that struck me when i read your reply. but not until I get all 5 stages down. not yet
/r/askTRP23/01/17 07:59 AM

Everything I've described is part of the increasing social valid part. Schmoozing, attending events you don't care about for one person. Attending small inter person politics...
/r/askTRP10/12/16 11:14 PM
1

By going out , here I meant attending events with. I'm a guy lol. You haven't exactly answered the question, hopefully this makes it clearer
/r/askTRP10/12/16 11:13 PM
1

Ive read that and that's where I understood what vulnerability is! If your friends mock you for being bad at something you just started, is that a sign that you shouldn't be sharing with them?
/r/askTRP26/07/16 03:06 PM
1

That was my thought, too. If I can't share an interest with you, I sure as shit can't share more. Sometimes this happens with male friends too lol
/r/askTRP26/07/16 03:04 PM
1

It hurts. It's demoralizing. Your best is complete trash to someone you have complete devotion to. Exactly. And now even when friends do it for some new talent or skill I feel the same way. I don't think I'll devote myself to anyone who doesn't deserve e it, and stuff like this can show me where the line is with them now. Thanks man. It's nice to hear supportive responses.
/r/askTRP26/07/16 03:02 PM
2

Hmm. Most guys will use plausible deniability when dealing with women. A&A is one way, in that it answers the question or implied question without giving a direct answer. 'How many women have you been with?' broad smile 'ALL of them'. This gives no information as to the direct answer but communicates a lot through the medium. What I'm thinking about is something like this: "Where were you last night?" A straightforward answer would be Starbucks. Instead, if you ask "Who wants to know?" it makes …

I didn't go to undergrad school here, I came here only for grad school. I've been here for 2 years, and spent 1 in an LDR lol

Either way, wouldn't doing it because of culture make it weak? Or is this just a more polite way of using doublespeak
/r/askTRP26/12/15 07:29 PM
2

Gotcha. The issue here being, if I let home culture be eroded in societal pressure for that reason alone, that would be weak as well. But some of this I understand, and accept. Are you Asian too? I'm curious as to how fellow Asians/Indians deal with this.

How can it be a great childhood if you're a misereable virgin at the end of it. That was the only tangible thing I lacked, and that's because of the culture in India. Sex, and premarital sex was not just taboo, it's what families feud over. I never wanted for money, or opportunity. I don't worship them, I respect what they did for me, even at the cost of their own health. If you are a beta to your parents, you will be a beta to everyone else. This I agree with.

Check out the altTRP subreddit just in case, it's for gay guys. You seem to have started introspecting, continue with it. Once you find out why you did what you did, you'll find it easier to find what you want. Read this book called No More Mr. Nice Guy by Robert Glover to start off with, it'll likely help you

What do you mean by a mother in law unit? I'm not sure it's the place to stay (we have a good place in my home country and I'm studying), more that their only source of satisfaction and enjoyment is their kids and my dad works some stressful as fuck hours to be able to give us the opportunities we needed.
/r/askTRP26/12/15 06:07 PM
4

That seems a bit ungrateful to me, they gave me a great childhood and put me through all of undergrad and grad school too
/r/askTRP26/12/15 06:06 PM

I'm FROM India, living in the US. They put me through all of school, and they've never NOT been on my side.

ll that matters is what's common (frequent, happening) and what works (frequently is useful to you). Bull shit, pavlovian conditioning works and abuse is common. I undersrand the idea of enjoy the decline, but saying that nothing is right is just destructive. Having a code has nothing to do with leading or following.

I get what you're saying mate, but that still doesn't justify it, you know what i mean? I understand why, I just don't agree with it on some level. I guess it's cool with plates tho', they're only booty calls

'Everyone does it' isn't a valid argument for why something is right, fallacy of the masses. Edit: then again, we're not on trp to discuss what's right, merely what's successful, but this feels wrong.

Last paragraph is good, didn't think about that. Do you have a link to the specific Wayne Elise video?
/r/askTRP04/12/15 02:49 AM

Thanks for elaborating. But isn't socially calibrated, just following a set of commonly accepted rules, and these guys just go against that?
/r/askTRP04/12/15 02:48 AM
1

Anything wrong with cringing at the idea of doing most of those things? Does that make me....lesser, in a way? I can't go up to a girl and say "Here's my banana phone. It's for you". and offer her my hand as a phone, for eg.
/r/askTRP04/12/15 01:36 AM

That's what I thought, but they seem damn near fearless about their approaches, like they fuck with big black dudes who don't seem receptive and would likely fuck up em and do it anyway. It seems bold but insane at the same time.
/r/askTRP04/12/15 01:34 AM
1

That's a good point, didn't think of it that way. But is it good to have that level of IDGAF, because some of it seems borderline dangerous, I'm sure at some point in time they're going to get roughed up, and for a prank? That seems stupid.

What are prison rules? And what can I do in the first case, where I tell them but they forget about it and do it anyway? At what point does this become weird (for eg. saying it's my house so you can't be on youtube because I want to watch my show would be)
/r/askTRP29/10/15 09:53 PM
1

In the past, one of my roommates used to do the toilet seat thing, and if i told him he'd do it 5 times and then roll back. Me and a roommate live there. Houseguest is a friend of the roommate's whom I sort of knew before he moved in. He's generally a nice guy, but everybody being on youtube at once means I can't do what I want to on the internet (maybe download a book, maybe it's do some homework).
/r/askTRP29/10/15 09:38 PM
1

How do you determine when to qualify or not? I have some friends over, I want them to get off the youtube app since it hogs the bandwidth. If I ask them to, they'll ask why, and I'll tell them anyway. Another example would be a houseguest who keeps forgetting to lift the toilet seat up; it avoids splatter. I don't want to seem like a nag by telling them over and over but I also hate when they do it.

please do, would appreciate the insights. How do you determine when to qualify or not? I have some friends over, I want them to get off youtube app since it hogs the bandwidth. If I ask them to, they'll ask why, and I'll tell them anyway.

Hey, your page says you only do this for the post divorce crowd. I'm not in that audience, but I would definitely benefit from some dating help. Do you do sessions for 20-25 crowd?

She friended me again
/r/askTRP25/10/15 12:07 AM

The only reason I'm willing to overlook it is because she's heading back home in 2 weeks so it's all like one extended trial run. I understand what you mean about setting the frame here, I'm usually a two striker with people. I'm willing to overlook this one as a possible accident. Gonna tell her to meet me for coffee on wed, Tuesday night. Ball's in her court. Then that's it.
/r/askTRP24/10/15 05:47 PM

She re-added me. What do oyu think? I haven't dated since high school. I'm unsure but your advice so far has been making a lot of sense.

Ok, update: unblocked, but we're no longer friends. Send a hail mary text anyway?

/r/askTRP24/10/15 04:39 PM

What I'm reluctant about is that if she wanted to correct it, why didn't she add me back? She did add me the first time. Going to move up the schedule maybe, and text her on tuesday for a wednesday coffee. If not, next.

Tbh, none of this would have shown at the club. If anything I showed a lot of abundance there. I picked dinner so we could go dancing after, which is more dhv. Im a bit pissed now but I wasn't when I was there

I'm confused about what I did wrong - I DHVed by being the best dancer there, I was pretty funny when drunk, I danced with at least 6 other cute girls. SMH, not sure what else I could do. I was forward with my intention and didn't bother when she didn't dance solo with me.

You're not a gorilla. There are consequences for you hitting him. But you can mimic the gorilla's mechanism. A&A is the indifference. Then you hit back if you feel significantly endangered by his actions/someone you care about/something you value is in danger from him, but try to always launch the second punch.

I'm inclined to take yours differently and say look for things that you don't necessarily need to compete in to be good at - like music, art, martial arts. Even if you're balls compared to your classmates, you're still better than most and you can perform on your own ie there's scope for performance outside of competition. Good point on messi

That's what i meant. Assumed that much was obvious. Shorter people have an edge when it comes to positions that involve running on the ball. Shorter legs and lower center of gravity make it much easier to accelerate in a pinch and much harder to shrug off the ball.
/r/askTRP03/10/15 07:59 AM

Yes, this is sort of what I mean. Abundance doesn't make sense to me here - if I wanted to play for varsity and didn't make it, where's the abundance. Google is known for hiring top notch people, are you okay with the admission that you're NOT elite? It cuts me to the bone sometimes to consider that.

Taller, better muscle development. Obviously his hard work has contributed. Despite my best efforts, I have poor health, I'm terrible with healing from injuries and was too poor to play soccer till I was 15.

If you're like the example, that's more than enough for masculine stubble. If you're going legit bald, shave yourself clean off and lift. Becomes bulky like a Vin Diesel. Ain't no one complaining about how alpha he is
/r/askTRP03/10/15 05:46 AM

Explain
/r/askTRP03/10/15 05:09 AM
1

Lose body fat, it'll excuse the lack of hair. Stubble is more than enough combined with low body fat. In the meantime, try to come to terms with how you look NOW. it may not be optimal, it may be far from what you want, but it is what it is, and there's no shame in that. In the mean time, lift like your life depends on it and lose some body fat. How's your hair? Glasses?
/r/askTRP03/10/15 04:45 AM

Not enough. OP should do both side by side.
/r/askTRP03/10/15 04:44 AM

are any of yours competitive? I am trying to make a team. I can't make varsity as long as there's that center forward better than me. He's just gifted genetically. Been playing since he was 7. I love my position. I don't want to change it. I love soccer. Don't want to stop it.
/r/askTRP03/10/15 03:18 AM

Parents borrowed money to send me to school. Hence the debt. What do you recommend I do first? I'm really good with women once I get to know them, but yeah I don't approach at all (barely). I'll keep lifting for now, that's a part of my life now. I don't find myself enjoying my life at all, it's like everything HAS to be for self improvement, you know? Otherwise I feel like that's hours I'll never get back
/r/askTRP26/09/15 12:12 AM

My beef isn't with what you say. I agree. It's that you don't say Nything more. Your answer doesn't answer his question.

I'm not advocating the first option. I'm only presenting his choices. I'd say bail. And by let go I mean let her go.
/r/askTRP03/09/15 03:32 AM

Options: 1. Get used to it; convince yourself or let yourseld be convinced by her that it's ok. Either way, make sure you don't regret it later. If the sour taste in your mouth doesn't go away, you'd best let it go regardless. You will find another. 2. Let go now; address the core emotion though. See what actually bothers you about this. If it's just the Ick Factor, you need to decide.
