Not relevant? I'm saying people who pay for porn are very, very overwhelmingly male, and it would make sense that those who pay likely resemble overall users. If anything, I'd think that since women want something less mainstream, they'd be more likely to pay, they just wouldn't be paying for the same services.

It's a real question. Porn sites are so predominantly male that if they register an account under a female card holder, it's actually used as one of the pieces of evidence to suggest that the card may be fraudulent or stolen.

It's not creepy, it just makes me sad. I've seen it be correlated with a weak social life generally, and there's usually some reason.

You clearly know that argument is bad. Let's consider literally any extenuating circumstance: the person is sweet and naive/sheltered they are a minor, and not old enough to know better they have difficulty interpreting social cues - i.e. the woman has Aspergers they wanted to have sex, but then it turned out you're an asshole so now they don't want to Most people are good people. It is miserable to live your life as if everyone is evil. Even a regular person who goes to a stranger's house in th…

You invite your friend over to play basketball, but he comes over and is either like "actually, I thought I wanted to but I kind of have heartburn and don't think I can" or "things about your behavior this evening have indicated to me that I don't think it would be enjoyable to play basketball with you today". Penalizing them for this would be weird. Yes, it's your house, but let's be honest, that's the purpose of doing it. The purpose is to create repercussions for their decision. It creates em…

So were you gonna turn them out immediately after sex? Does having sex with them decrease the risk of them robbing you in your sleep? It sounds like you're rationalizing.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/19 05:43 PM

I guess I'm picturing maybe you guys make out and she decides "eh, I think not actually". I've met dudes who were such terrible kissers that I was immediately like "well, the sex is only going to be worse than this is, so noooo thanks." People who reject you are just people.

Or maybe someone wants to go to 3rd base but not home. Punishing someone by kicking them out is kind of manipulative. I genuinely can't imagine kicking someone else because their idea of a fun evening doesn't match mine. It's so petty and selfish. It hurts you not at all for someone to crash on your couch. "I can't have what I want, at the expense of your boundaries and comfort? Then fine, you can't have what you want, even though it'd be basically no cost to me whatsoever."

People get tired? What's so offensive about her sleeping there? I've had people I know sleep at my house without harassing them for sex. A guy I ended up turning down slept in my guest room, because it was like 3am and we were both tired.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/19 04:34 PM

There are plenty of places/ times when getting an uber or taxi isn't doable.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/19 03:56 PM

Let's say she's at your place and too drunk to drive home, so she was planning to sleep there. She was planning to just sleep, but you won't let her sleep because you're harassing her for sex. You probably think "you're just persuading her", when really it's taking advantage of someone in a vulnerable situation and manipulating them with sleep deprivation. When cops do the same thing to prisoners, it's a human rights abuse. So... how much is that really "consent"?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/10/19 02:54 PM

Ok, so in your world view, women only pretend to have hobbies/interests if it gets them social points somehow. So... what do you imagine women do when they're alone? Do they hibernate? Do they cease to exist?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/19 05:27 PM
4

"Women are like X. Except the women who aren't like X, but that means they're not women". You're defining the situation such that it's impossible for someone to be both "interesting" and "a woman".
/r/PurplePillDebate15/10/19 05:30 PM
2

Women are just people. They're not unicorns or dogs or something. They are just as interesting as anyone else. There are interesting women and uninteresting men. If women are uninteresting to you, maybe it's because something in your behavior is offputting and makes people hesitate to open up to you.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/10/19 05:22 PM

It's repetitive in that people who catcall one woman usually catcall many. It's unwanted in than almost no one wants that.

I will say, it's possible to not be an asshole. I was once down town in a new sundress - not on my phone, no headphones, just having a nice day walking to brunch, and some dude was like "I don't mean to bother you but that's a very lovely dress". He said this immediately before crossing to a different side of the street, away from me, so it was about as unthreatening as it could be. Pretty sure that's the only time I've gotten a "street compliment" that didn't feel like an immediate threat to my…

I've dated guys shorter than me, it's just that the one guy who obstinately refused to take a hint happened to be a big guy. Shorter dudes could have beaten me up too. Again, aside from the fact that men are on average much stronger than women, I had very limited use of my dominant arm at the time because of an injury.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/19 05:21 PM
3

That was just this one date. I'm a small lady with a chronic illness, and again, I was injured at the time. There are very few dudes who couldn't beat me up, even when I've dated guys who are shorter than me. Men are, on average, significantly stronger than women. A man my height could still beat the shit out of me, but at least they might sustain a defensive wound. This guy could probably have killed me without breaking a sweat.

It is literally physically risky to express a clear and unambiguous no. Some men will get violent. I had an experience with a Tinder date several years ago where that guy tried to make a move on me somewhere isolated, and I tried to defer or say I had to work in the morning or every imaginable nice way of trying to stop the situation. Eventually, he clearly wasn't accepting that and I had to say "I'm sorry but I will not be sleeping with you". This dude was a pro MMA fighter and we were somewher…

I've heard, by an ex who did a lot of picking up people at bars before we got together, that the reason he never would have approached me is that I don't look like I would go home with someone in a bar. Which is correct, I wouldn't. It's not that I'm too pretty - I'm not. It's something else. Like a class thing maybe? Or that I'm clearly an introvert?

Here's the thing: however well you think you're hiding it, you are not hiding it even close to that well. The most likely scenario is that she definitely knows something is wrong and she's just like "I wonder why he did that?" You would not be revealing this to her, so much as giving her an explanation for dumb stuff you've been doing that she already knows about. It would only make being in a relationship with you less frustrating.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/19 07:38 AM
5

She's in the wrong here, but for the most part this is a situation that is only a problem because you have Aspergers. Most people can read signals and figure out when someone is coyly saying "no..." with a face that says "come fuck me".

You pick the wrong people. Guys who are pining after someone else are usually guys with avoidant attachment problems. The ONLY reason they love those girls is because those girls are unattainable. If those girls liked them, they would completely lose interest. They have this idea in good head about the girl, but it's not a real person, they're in love with their own fantasy about her. I've dodged dudes like this, because I also have avoidant attachment problems and I can spot it a mile away. In …

I mean, anyone can leave anyone else for any reason. But if he allows someone else's past to make him unhappy, lots of arbitrary shit will probably make him unhappy. Just because she used to date a different type of dude, I mean, people change. Now, if it turns out she never liked him in the first place, that's a different matter, but that's not because of her past, that'd be because she's being duplicitous in the present.

I think they are good-sex sexual. I have dated some uggo dudes who put in some real work in the bedroom. I had a way higher sex drive in those relationships than ones with hot guys who didn't care much about my pleasure.

Or, if you're gonna make a pass, make it early and get it out of the way. Then handle rejection like an adult, go fuck someone else, and then we can be friends like two equal humans.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/19 01:32 AM
2

This does happen. I've had friends who are dudes in relationships and dudes who are players. Part of the issue is that sometimes guys who are players a) have very simplistic views of women which make them not necessarily good at being friends with women and b) some of them are pretty unhappy people. They have a hole in their life and it's like they're trying to fuck that hole closed. Sometimes you can be friends with a person who has a problem like that, but sometimes its exhausting watching a p…

Because the resulting instinctive feeling is calibrated to hundreds of thousands of years of "genetic experience" of the evolutionary environment. How could we know it's evolutionary instead of cultural? Your explanation makes senses, but other explanations also make sense. Like, Bonobo monkeys are also closely related to humans but have a much more promiscuous society. They do not observe monogamy, have sex freely, and raise their babies communally. Their society is matriarchal. Although any in…

It's a risk. But life is risky, if you're living it to the fullest. All you can do is try. It sounds like this is new for both of you. If you like her, see how it plays out. I was told by numerous men that I dated that there's no way they'd have hit on me at a bar because they assumed I'd say no. And it's true, I would have, because I'm a whole person and if someone approaches me in a bar it's because they went "hur hur yer hot, and hopefully easy". I don't think they didn't hit on me strictly because of looks though (I'm not that hot, kind of a nerd), I think it's because of class. Like, socioeconomic class. Because a woman in her 20s is going to leave you for a man in his 20s. Eventually she's gonna realize that you're dating someone so much younger than you because it took you an extra 8 or so years for you to acquire the emotional maturity of a 23 year old woman, and that's weird.

I feel like most people I see labeled as fuckbois aren't hot, they're like wimpy dudes dressed up like they're hot. They have all the trappings of hot, but aren't. The obvious desperation is what makes them fuckbois. It's more like try hard. To me it's more like a woman saying "uh, you might fool someone with that shit, but you're not fooling me."

All relationships are doomed to fail, in the sense that either one of you leaves or you make it long enough and one of you dies. Life is fleeting. Nothing is guaranteed. But that doesn't have to be depressing. There's no such thing as happily ever after, but you're both humans and you can both try to make it work. You only find out at the end whether it lasted for a lifetime.

Over 30, but ideally some of those were long term (30 one night stands with nothing else is pretty dysfunctional, 25 one night stands and 5 relationships of 1yr+ is reasonable) I want someone who knows their body and who has an adult relationship with their own sexuality. I'm too old to be baby stepping someone through the basics.

It's fine for you to not want that, but in general, I think we should work to destigmatize that choice, because it works just fine for some people. And right now, people like yourself who want to date "ex sluts" can end up feeling judged for it, so they don't so it even when it would make them happy.

It's unfortunate that it's been true, but it's not true anymore and that's great! I'm not saying it will change overnight, but we owe it to ourselves to try to change it. promiscuous partners are high risk Some, maybe. But someone who's never been able to have a relationship of any kind could be their own kind of red flag. Some people of all kinds are shitty. Women date slutty men, and sometimes it goes just fine. Then start judging them. That's the wrong direction! If we move the needle the other direction, everyone gets more sex :) Men can never be sure they are the father. This truth leads to slutty women being less desirable. This might have been true at one point but A) paternity tests B) women have control over their own reproduction - who you make babies with is a hugely important choice and they can control that if they want and C) Consensual non-monogamy or partial monogamy is a thing. What about when men want to be sluts but not judged by women? Women are just looking for the same social allowances men already have. Slutty women aren't undesirable because of some physical, material difference between them and prude women. It's all socially constructed. Men say "oh, it's just my reptile brain, it's icky". Reptile brain is just another word for "feelings I don't plan to work on or acknowledge".

I don't know that I agree. I'm a feminist and I believe that men can be both victims and perpetrators (as can women) of the patriarchy. Maybe your job is overworking the men you work with, which is making their home lives stressed and miserable. Divorce is suuuper high for stressful jobs like police officers. It's not that their wives are shitty. If they're working 70 hours a week, that means the wife is stuck alone with the kids all that extra time.

Dude, /r/niceguys is a thing because it happens all the time. It's ridiculous how many men will get angry bordering on violent from being rejected. It's something girls have to navigate around all the time. If a girl let's thems down easy, they go "why was she so vague?! Why didn't she just come out and say what she meant?" And if she's up front about it, they go "why are you such a bitch?"

No. Jesus christ, no it should not be. Rape is physically traumatic and typically contains elements of assault. It can leave you battered and bruised and in terrible pain. Consensual sex with a client is something the prostitute might not necessarily get off on, but they're not greviously injuring themselves. Rape can cause vaginal or anal tears and permanent damage that fuck up any future relationships. It is not the same thing as theft.

Amen to the makeup point. A woman can use 10 products and you wouldn't know it, but there be a huuuuge difference before and after. It's more that I'm arguing that the social approach to resolving the problem of women being attacked shouldn't focus on the woman's side of the problem. It's not as likely to be successful. It's more worthwhile to devote time energy and resources to making attacks less likely. But yes. From a survival perspective, not fighting back is more likely to result in you continuing to be alive. But it's more psychologically challenging, so the choice is obviously up to that woman.

For men sex is like pizza. Bad sex is still pretty good. For women, that is just not physically true. Bad sex can result in huge amounts of pain: vaginal tears, a bruised cervix, aggravated vasovagal nerve that makes you want to puke, partners failing to properly handle conditions like vulvodynia and vaginismus, both of which cause sex pain. If your partner is gross and doesn't wash their hands before fingering you, you could end up with a strep infection in your vagina. Yes. That is a real thin…

Even from an evolutionary biology perspective, this is absolute nonsense. She's just saying I don't want to have sex with you. From the evolutionary perspective, it's like saying "I think our genes aren't a good match. For example, we may be too similar and our traits wouldn't compensate correctly. We should each find different, better suited partners in order to make better rounded offspring." One woman rejecting you isn't rejecting you as a person. It's toxic, but "toxic masculinity" as a concept is about both the act and society's attitude towards it, or, like, the social structures that perpetuate it. Society is likely to treat a woman punching a wall differently than a man doing it. For him they'll say "well, you know he's just letting off steam", thereby reinforcing the behavior. For her, they'll likely say "What the fuck, Susan?".

Women policing the sexuality of other women could be toxic femininity. Ex. slut shaming.

I used to prefer men who had fewer Partners, but then I realized that a quality sex partner is really important to me, and I found that more experience was a pretty major benefit.

For the benevolent sexist men versus the egalitarian men, how did the women know that the benevolent sexist men were sexist? As far as they knew, the men weren't treating them differently because they were women, the men were treating them differently because they were interested.

I don't know that you can really victim blame someone just because they don't assume everything they're being told is a lie. If someone does nothing but lie to you from the moment they meet you in order to get you into bed, I think that invalidates the consent and it's important. For example, the guy says he's not married, or he says that he's HIV negative. What she's saying is, the feeling of rejection is one that healthy adults work through. Getting rejected sucks, but how you handle it is up to you. Generally, the more you get rejected, the more you learn how to handle it. It's just about learning how to get back on the horse, so to speak. It'll always suck, but it'll suck less over time. Another thing I will say, is that resiliency to rejection can make you more attractive. If women know that you will be totally fine if they reject you, and in …

It kind of sounds like his summary of her argument is really unclear, like he isn't sure exactly what she's arguing. There's no way to tell if that's because she was unclear or he misunderstood her. A lot of the time, being able to clearly repeat what the person you're arguing against just said is a big part of resolving the argument. OP needs to figure out what they're even actually arguing about before anyone can give him advice on what to say. :P
