Pursuing or flirting with someone who is taken?Well, I agree that it's better if no cheating is involved, but it's still not a good situation -- not one I would recommend getting involved in. Let's say you meet a guy who seems like a great catch, but he's in a committed long-term relationship with his girlfriend. Not engaged, but like, moving toward that pretty quickly. Let's assume that he's pretty happy in his relationship, and is planning on proposing. Then you come along. And even though he's pretty happy in his relationship, you guys ju… | /r/RedPillWives | 05/05/17 10:15 AM
Pursuing or flirting with someone who is taken?Sure, it's not impossible to get past infidelity. But (and I'm talking about this from OP's point of view, not the POV of the woman in the original relationship) it makes no sense to start a relationship as the other woman. I would argue that a man who is very obviously susceptible to this kind of situation is not a "good man worth pursuing," as OP's aunt says. That's not to say that he's definitely going to cheat on you, or that you aren't an incredible catch. But you would probably do better t… | /r/RedPillWives | 05/05/17 12:33 AM
Pursuing or flirting with someone who is taken?Due to my personal morals I could never participate in an arrangement where I or the other person is a cheater. It's a shitty foundation. If they will cheat with you there's no reason to think they won't also cheat on you later down the road. Yes, this is a very important point. What is the more likely situation here: That you are such an incredible catch that he left his committed relationship for you? Or that he is not very good at committing? | /r/RedPillWives | 05/05/17 12:01 AM
SAHMs and SAHWs: What do you do all day?For the most part I get paid after I'm done. It varies by work. I do get paid royalties for my books, though, and I have some completed screenplays that are in option right now (yet to be purchased), so even if I stopped working I'd still be making a little money. If you're around a lot (what with working from home), you could be the primary influence without changing every diaper. This is a good point! I guess I've only ever thought about hiring help with children as "having a nanny or nothing,… | /r/RedPillWives | 04/03/17 05:06 AM
SAHMs and SAHWs: What do you do all day?Well...the point was to play off of that oft-repeated condescending question SAHW/Ms are bombarded with. Hence, "I know my title is provocative..." | /r/RedPillWives | 03/03/17 12:28 AM
SAHMs and SAHWs: What do you do all day?I agree, we need to get the impulse spending under control. It's definitely something we're working on, but it's a process :/ | /r/RedPillWives | 03/03/17 12:24 AM
SAHMs and SAHWs: What do you do all day?To a large extent I do need the crazy schedule to be productive. I don't know if this makes a lot of sense, but it's a big part of my creative process -- letting the work/creative ebbs and flows dictate my schedule, and having the flexibility to abandon everything (including sleep) when I'm hit with inspiration. I write books and screenplays, so it's not that easy to just work fewer hours since I'm paid as projects sell. I've thought about the possibility of hiring help with children, but at the… | /r/RedPillWives | 03/03/17 12:23 AM
SAHMs and SAHWs: What do you do all day?A schedule would definitely mess with my work and creativity (the bulk of my work), so I'm not sure if it'd be much different. But it sounds like there are a few things we can try, and we're going to make some sacrifices for kids so...I'll report back...:) | /r/RedPillWives | 02/03/17 07:15 PM
SAHMs and SAHWs: What do you do all day? Both cleaning and organizing are tough -- I'll just say it right now, I have ADHD and so does my husband, so detail-oriented tasks take a lot of effort and are easily overwhelming. I've read some of Marie Kondo's stuff, and I really like the idea of it...but it's tough. We're not good at fighting clutter, and we're both very impulsive. We're definitely working on this, but for now a housekeeper is pretty much a necessity. We do have lots of "places" for things and we try really hard to adhere to… | /r/RedPillWives | 02/03/17 06:57 PM
SAHMs and SAHWs: What do you do all day?Ah, okay, so it's a business that doesn't require a lot of constant, sustained attention -- makes more sense! | /r/RedPillWives | 02/03/17 06:19 PM
SAHMs and SAHWs: What do you do all day?Schedule is a big one. Right now we both have very fluid/flexible schedules, to the point where it would be a huge adjustment (and one that almost certainly couldn't happen overnight) to have any obligations (such as, to a baby or child). It's all very inconsistent, which is working great for us right now, but I think will be a big issue with a baby. I think it will probably be smoother if one person is dedicated to kid/home stuff. It's hard to explain, exactly, how lacking in schedule/structure… | /r/RedPillWives | 02/03/17 06:14 PM

SAHMs and SAHWs: What do you do all day?At the risk of also sounding provocative, if you don't have enough to do, then you just aren't using your imagination. Haha, yes, that's part of the reason I asked this question! Also, as to the house keeping, if you are wanting to get used to living on one income, wouldn't the housekeeper be one of the first things to go? Maybe. Cleaning and organizing is a frustrating process for both of us (let's just say I'm definitely an "absent-minded creative"), and it's not a huge expense considering the… | /r/RedPillWives | 02/03/17 05:39 PM
SAHMs and SAHWs: What do you do all day?Might as well answer my own question! I'm not a SAHW/M because I work from home, and I work full-time (I'm a writer). My husband also works from home (also a writer, different type of writing, though). Even though we're both home all the time, we both work enough that household chores like cleaning is a burden, and right now we hire a housekeeper who comes two or three times a week. The reason I'm looking to transition into a SAHW/M is because I don't really think our situation is sustainable fo… | /r/RedPillWives | 02/03/17 04:57 PM
SAHMs and SAHWs: What do you do all day?I can see how being a SAHW/M would benefit both you and your husband -- you'd get an extra three hours or so to spend with him, since you wouldn't be cooking, playing piano, or taking a "full" shower to make up for the quickie in the morning :) He doesn't necessarily get "extra" time (since it seems like you take care of the bulk of the chores), but he gets extra time with you...which is super important!! | /r/RedPillWives | 02/03/17 04:27 PM
SAHMs and SAHWs: What do you do all day?Ah, right -- I forgot you were detailing today specifically rather than a general schedule :) | /r/RedPillWives | 02/03/17 04:24 PM
SAHMs and SAHWs: What do you do all day? This is about what I expected a schedule with small children to be like...mostly hanging out with the kids and then cleaning up after each activity. But when are you going to have time to run your business?? | /r/RedPillWives | 02/03/17 04:16 PM
SAHMs and SAHWs: What do you do all day?Do you only have daughters or do you also have sons? I'm asking because you specifically say "teach daughter to make dinner," not "teach kids to make dinner." I think cooking is an important skill for both boys and girls to learn! But I can see how this might be a bonding experience for just you and your daughter, especially if she's taken a particular interest in it. | /r/RedPillWives | 02/03/17 04:14 PM
SAHMs and SAHWs: What do you do all day? What does your day look like right now? Do you think that if you were a SAHW/M you would spend more time on things like chores and cooking, or do you think you'd spend the same amount of time and just have more time to do other things? (And if you'd spend the same amount of time as you currently spend on these things -- does that hurt other parts of your life? When do you sleep??) | /r/RedPillWives | 02/03/17 03:14 PM
SAHMs and SAHWs: What do you do all day?I don't have kids yet, but I've always imagined staying at home with a newborn/baby would leave you with zero downtime (like, not even enough time to do chores not related to the baby), so it's a relief to hear that you had time to do things like meet up with friends. | /r/RedPillWives | 02/03/17 02:50 PM
