I take this as a sign of a guy who just wants to fuck. I've come across this a lot, and recently ghosted someone because of it. The conversations were dealthy boring, repetitive and he never asked me any kind of interesting question about me. It was like he was texting me to lay groundwork to sleep with me. Nah. Just lessen your replies and don't keep the conversation going, let them fade.

Lmao my ex said he was 5 '10. This guy stared me in the eyes when we kissed. I'm 5' 5

I know someone like this, constantly giving and generous and kind. I was suspicious of it at first, but some people are like that. This isn't a red flag unless it's things that are super inappropriate and over familiar, offering to order you some food is just a nice thing to do, I do it for friends. Are there any other red flags? Combined with certain other things it may be a sign of love bombing but I wouldn't consider it to be on its own.

If you had a good time, and you feel excited to see him again, go ahead and go.

Everything you said, i identify deeply with. I literally just went through this, for the second time. I am not gonna keep seeing someone I don't find attractive and whose personality i dislike, so of course naturally if I am seeing someone regularly, emotions will develop! I can't compartmentalise the way men do, like the OP says they put sex in one drawer and love in another. Fucking depressing but luckily I withdrew myself both times before the attachment became too great. I've decided to stop…

Yep. I used to think it was/could be. I tried on a few occasions. Never worked out. Always led to feeling crappy or empty, what's the point?

This whole thing was absolutely cringey and embarrasing for all involved. They really do not give one solitary shit about you. They just tune in to get what they can get from you and the rest is just white noise to them.

Anytime a person says not to be racist, you can be sure that the next thing they will say is racist. This is racist as fuck. Take it down and apologise.

Haven't even had so much as a text from my FWB who I get along with really really well and respect a lot. But his lack of acknowledgement of me as someone who he spends so much time with has really turned me off. I've been thinking of locking it off anyway because I am getting bored of the arrangement so this has definitely cemented it for me.

Honestly, i no longer get optimistic, cautiously or otherwise until i get to know someone well enough that they have proven why i should be optimistic about him. I get the feeling of wanting to be excited over a seemingly good man but that excitement has sparked and fizzled out so many times that now i just wait. Because time will tell everything.

This is a really good thread and i really need to read this right now. I posted a similar thread on dating advice a few months ago, about a guy i met who was doing EVERYTHING right and everything pointed to him being really into me. But in the end he just wanted to keep it casual. I was baffled. So baffled! Because i just couldn't imagine being like that to a guy i was not invested emotionally in or wanted something serious with. But we have to remember that its not the same with men. They liter…

Sad and depressing. I was in a relatonship for 5 years and we argued or it got ignored, the best was some generic chocolates and flowers. Haven't had a good one since from guys ive dated, been with or chatted to. Guys will try convince you its all bullshit and materialistic and a made up holiday- well- all holidays are made up. It just means they don't value you. Fuck them. I'm gonna do a galentines dinner with friends and spend time with my parents and be happy.

I'll be spending it with my parents, I'll take them for a nice meal and do something nice with them as they will be coming to visit me. I have a FWB but I'm working on letting this go pretty soon, we are friendly and he's proven to be a good guy but we are just not compatible long term. So nothing to be expected on a romantic front. I'm looking forward to it being a family event, I might even get my mum some roses and dad some chocolate.

The dating phase is what I imagine the 7th hell to look like. Just an endless loop of dates 1-5 getting excited then being let down, starting to fall for someone then they blow it and starting all over again. Hell, I tell thee!!!

This is what I always do, immediately. In fact, sometimes I do it during the dating phase just so I don't get too obsessive or reread message threads and allow my imagination to take over.

Girl same, with my last ex I kept a document called "his complete bs" where I would just write down all the shit he did and seeing that list accumulate really helped me to break up with him and stay broken up with him, especially because I forgive too easily so it was a necessary reminder.
