When I did online dating, Applebee's was my go to place (midwestern so it might be different than you crazy coasties). It's casual so you can talk and hear the other person. You're not constantly being bombarded with other people but it's not isolated so hopefully it makes the girl feel safe (she is meeting a stranger after all). The food isn't too expensive so I don't mind picking up the check even if the date turns out to be blah. The food isn't so fancy and it's not fast food. I like that guy…

Let's also think about the need to have stuff like microaggressions and trigger warnings and think 1/5 of women will be sexually assaulted. Because if everyone is on their best behavior then someone might look at this group and see they might not be needed, especially if the bubble ever bursts or leaks on colleges. It's like fighting "terrorism" you'll never really win but you'll keep using that excuse to expand the budget.

My honest question is how does this study and conclusion affect children and homosexual couples? If a mom and dad are both important for various reasons, should children only be allowed (through adoption, fertilization, etc.) to be given to heterosexual couples?

Man, he does not deserve that kind of treatment. I love QC and have read his entire run of the series. His characters all exhibit some fault which you can kind of see either is an extention of him or seems to be at least. The comic is great and this just makes me feel really sad - esp. with his harming himself :(

No matter what you call it. It's still denying (assuming someone is) an innocent person of freedom from not being in a cage and force used against them. Plus, just ask Kevin Mitnick how long the state is able to "temporarily detain" someone without charges.

Well this wouldn't be a trial but pre-trial, again it depends on the state, and the judge is just seeing if there enough evidence to bring to trial any charges (in some states only the prosecutor can file charges). You still have the possibility of bad rullings but there is the hope that judges are impartial. However, by tying up the docet of the judges it may make them rule quicker or just against the man since the "numbers are against men in domestics".

Where the B/E guy has no claim to property whereas both parties have claims to the shared property of a location, so not exactly a great comparisson. A better one would be, if a guy who's drunk goes up to some guy doing nothing on the street and punches him in the face - they both get arrested. I think that's a better comparisson. However, the close proximity of the two subjects in that example will be less than it is with a domestic situation.

Oh I agree, that the law may almost force the police to arrest the male or make them bias in one direction...but arresting both/all parties takes it out of the hands of the cops and right into the judges hands. So just make sure to get arrested during court hours and you won't have to spend too long in jail.

To be fair, some states require that both people involved in a domestic dispute get arrested and the judge then decides who, if anyone, to keep. It depends on just how the law is written. I'm not saying this is the case, but it could be a point.
