A leader has to be competent at leading. Leading DOES NOT mean one has to be competent in everything. As an Ops Mgr for a small business, I have a lot of employees who are much more competent in their field of expertise than I am, but I lead them still because I know how to lean on their expertise (along with the expertise of all my other staff) to successfully accomplish something. So in the John Piper example, a good leader would acknowledge their personal strengths and weaknesses, acknowledge…

Nowadays..."Bad people" = "People that disagree with me". It's not worth a second thought. Know who the real bad people are. These are the people who see others as less, beneath their persons. Whether by word and/or by deed. Be they men or women...they are bad.

Power is alluring to all people, regardless of sex. How each of the sexes pursue power is different. Men pursue power via authority. They're the top dog. They're the ones who dictate what is what, who is who, etc. They want all peoples to bow to their authority and follow their commands. This is power via physical dominance. Women pursue power via relational control. Their will and desire are the authority that others are required to understand and follow. It's the responsibility of those other …

Hard times create tough men. Tough men create stable times. Stable times create weak men. Weak men create hard times. Rinse and repeat.

Ironically, feminist do the same in that they obsess over men (i.e. patriarchy). It’s funny that most organizations are united not in the agreement of an idea but in their hatred of something else.

It’s like one day, a house decided to eat it’s neighbor and then suddenly couldn’t stop. Now...it looks like this.

No offense, but your father only taught you half of the equation. I, too, am the son of a pastor...so I know. The reason men are struggling so much now with being a man is because of the above incomplete formula. The full equation of a man is: - Confidence in Leadership (doing what is right, even when it’s hard) - Confidence in Love (being able to show affection and vulnerability) Having one without the other is the incomplete man.

What is it that you "really" want? Is it just the sex? The connection? The companionship? Knowing what you want will determine how you proceed. Not knowing what you want and proceeding anyway is what will burn you.

Feminism has nothing to do with basic decency. A culture can enforce basic decency without having to be feminist nor subscribe to feminist ideologies.

If you have her text messages asking for the hookup, then you have sufficient proof of sexual harassment and retaliation. If HR refused to help you, file a sexual harassment claim with the state. If what you’re saying is true, you have more than enough ammo.

Loneliness and longing are rooted in disconnectedness. It's common for men to think that a relationship will cure this, because they feel they can "connect" with said person (and for a time they do)...though often to their eventual disappointment. Why? Because she's looking for connectedness as well. And two empty people trying to fill themselves with each other only devolves into chaos. Connectedness is the fruit of the harmony between "identity" and "community". What is identity and what is co…

I think what you're describing isn't a "high value" woman. A high value woman isn't going to tout herself. She's going to be classy and respectful of both men and women. She isn't going to root her value in the fact that she's a woman or that she's even necessarily financially successful. She going to root her values in her strength of character, kindness of heart, and will of mind. Needless to say, high value women are rare...and they don't self-advertise.

While I don't agree with a lot of the conclusions the men here draw from their experiences, I also feel that their frustrations are quite warranted given their situations. At the end of the day, this is a place for men to have a voice. Whatever that voice may be. If people don't like that voice, they have the freedom to leave. If people disagree with that voice, they have the freedom to not participate. But no one has the right to silence the voice of people's experiences and especially their fr…

This isn't about "who you are". This is about "who you want to be." Big difference.

You need to decide on who you want to be. And this isn’t about a career choice, but a character choice. Because once you decide your path, then and only then can you make efforts to find it and follow it. If you never decide who you want to be, then not only will you always be searching, but it leaves you open for others to decide for you.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
