lift. Now. All of that anger, all of that aggression. GO TO THE GYM. Download the 5x5 stronglifts app and fucking start with just the bar and learn the movements. Go. As soon as your schedule allows it. Tonight. Tomorrow morning. This is your new normal routine, no different than brushing your teeth. It's just what you do. If you truly struggle with motivation, join a crossfit gym or some other group exercise involving lifting. If you do, learn the shit out of form to avoid injury and shy away f…

Lay it on me. I've been learning how blind I am to my own weaknesses. Allegedly I'm at dread level 5, but my foundation seems to crumble under me a lot. Body Goal: 180 lbs, 12% bf, good looks, big arms, functional strength and conditioning 165 lbs, 25% bf. Was skinny-fat at 145 lbs; I've been eating like crazy to get up to this weight. Hitting the gym 3x a week hard to make the most of it. Been in a local lifting club getting good coaching for a month. My lifts have drastically improved in a sho…

this really ties into WISNIFG well. YOU are the ultimate judge of yourself. I still haven't internalized this, but OP has internalized this and knows that he is a good father and husband, so her criticism is truly a non-event for him. No DEER-ing. No guilt. Just a bit of lighthearted fogging/pressure flip.

Defend Explain Excuse Rationalize. You are getting upset by an anonymous internet strangers stinging observations enough to go off the handle. This is not an alpha trait. Your answer from now on is "thank you may I have another" and you embrace the kernel of truth behind that observation while ignoring the stinging. Because those ugly little kernels of truth about yourself are what you came here to address in the first place. Edit: clarity

dinner and a movie is the worst date. don't do this. There's no talking during the movie, the only game you can run is physical, which means you're on a tight deadline for rapport and escalation with the dinner which is already an anxious thing for most women.

If a dude talks about warcraft for 45 minutes and she gets bored(the worst emotion), at least he's putting himself out there and learning from the situation. He'll learn next time to not talk about the boring math parts of how his Paladin's armor stacks with his high evasion b/c x+y/2=z and when he gets 2,000 more gold he can buy these sweet boots that blah blah blah. Instead hopefully he tells the tale of Leroy Jenkins, or an epic retelling of the most dramatic raid he's ever been on and how th…

I've been really working on this for the last 6 months: on becoming High Energy life by grabbing life by the pussy. I spent every last moment of my weekend doing something productive/fun/important to me. Working late on Friday to get an important rush shipment out to a key client, then drinks with coworkers. Saturday, cooked family a power-breakfast, played with my kid, had a friend visit and we worked on a project while chatting about life, family bike ride, dinner out, watch a movie in, playin…

That's the uncomfortable part. It's like learning to swim: can't stop Edit: can't stop paddling. I'm a reforming nice guy and am used to shying away from confrontation and mentally resting on my laurels. Even treading water takes effort, and I'm finding red-pill is about bringing energy and mindfulness to every moment of my life; especially in areas where life once was easy. It's uncomfortable for me to find confrontation that I once avoided and, instead, LEAN-IN. Swimming lessons were at first …

Gym habits: Undisciplined I've been good at following a regimen at the gym, but my habits around the gym are shit. Not often 3x a week, even though that was my original goal when I started lifting a year ago when I weighed 145 lbs. Eating enough has always been a problem for me. Sometimes I take it seriously, but it often falls by the wayside. Sleep as well, I WANT to sleep 8 hours a night or more, and have the time to, but sometimes I let myself read until midnight. Black Phillip? I've only listened to Being Phillip show with Date Nero which was good but felt too unstructured for a newbie so I stepped away for awhile, can't find Black Phillip in Google podcasts or app store. I don't think I want to. I think I need to use this opportunity to evaluate my relationship with, approach to, and motives regarding sex. Also really focus on owning my shit and mastering shit tests without the Blue Pill habit of "how will my response to this affect her odds of sleeping with me" hanging over my head. If it's all for naught, what am I out? A few rounds of okay sex with a begrudgingly willing partner.

You're right, I am all over the place. This is a bad habit, like a golden retriever. Does meditation help with this? I'm thinking I'm going to go through with it, and focus on owning my shit all three months. The only cost of this Monk Mode is a little mediocre sex. I'm trying to turn the ship around, fully knowing it might not work, but knowing that at least I'll be better prepared for whatever comes.

What does Monk Mode do for single guys? I'm planning on focusing ALL my efforts on TRP building blocks. Primary motivation is to get out of the rut of shitty sex, guilt over not having sex, guilt over being a bad wife, frustration with herself on her end. She's a really high strung woman (I doubt things will work out between us in another year on my TRP journey unless she learns to chill out) and has this especially nervous energy around our sex life. It sounds like you're looking for a marriage. I have a feeling your mother is going to have a lot of intuition to offer here, women can usually sense these things about each other. I've redpilled exactly ONE person. It was a casual conversation and he was already coming to most of these conclusions on their own. So while on a road trip I read to him the first 4 pages of Rational Male. He took it from there, asking me about book suggestions. Every other attempt I've made has been an absolute failure. He has to already be there on his own for it to work. At which point, is it really red-pilling??
/r/MarriedRedPill19/09/16 04:20 PM

Certainly don't discuss them. that's the problem. AFC's are used to "discussing" as their conversation. Very boring. Then they read all of this stuff, don't internalize it, and choose it as a "discussion" topic. Very boring AND pathetic. Learned the material, but still don't "just get it" Honestly, I probably still fall into this group. I don't talk about fight club, but I still don't "just get it" either yet. MRP talks about this concept (outcome independence) a LOT in a slightly different setting (obviously). When you make a move on your wife, already have some other plan in mind. I made the mistake of arguing with a beta friend who posted this article on Facebook where he defended his stance that (in his words) "There's definite sexism in looking for a stay at home spouse as compared to looking for someone awesome, and then having them decide they want to focus on the home." takeaway: delete facebook, hit the gym

explore that more. I'm lifting but I think I'm getting gunshy at weights at or above my own bodyweight. Trying to keep progressing, but I think my mental fear is holding me back from benching/squatting/deadlifting something that big.

OP, I like the idea of a Things That Keep You Beta series. More please! Or as a friend says about receiving criticism "Thank You may I have another"

Life isn't fair. This is all some Disney aftertaste karmic universe kind of stuff. Once I grew out of that, I found it easier to accept a more pragmatic view of the world. Some people get the shaft. Why? Not karma. Sometimes shit happens, but often its because they lied to themselves about the way of the world and were blindsided.

By carefully maintaining your own frame, and giving someone who has broken some social rule a chance to emerge from the situation with dignity, it elevates, rather than diminishes, the status of the leader who can be gracious instead of ruthless when others are cooperating. offering plausible deniability

great post. society gets this so wrong and doesn't really teach this. I really noticed in the examples that the assertive response tends to result in the best outcome for all parties, and always makes the speaker look good.

you say responsible like its a good thing. I'm all for getting my own and making sure my children are taken care of, but beyond that? I don't owe anybody my good behavior.

Agreed. For me it was one moment. Every change I've made since then has been as a result of that one dawning moment of sick-to-my-stomach clarity and dizzying realization that I was enveloped in a lie of a worldview. I have a long road of changes ahead of me, but I couldn't go back even if I wanted to. Lucky for me, I stumbled across a TRP reference in deadbedrooms or relationships the very same week.

How about No More Mr. Nice Guy? It has really helped me stop caring what other people think. Regular exercise and meditation also has helped me clear my head quite a bit. The biggest struggle for me is finding the inner peace necessary to go into things with a fun and IDGAF attitude. I'm definitely still working on that. Some days I have to fake it really hard on the short trip to the gym where I can work off my frustrations.

I bought 10 of the Banana Republic Soft-wash V-neck off of ebay a few years back in several colors. To be fair: with the weightlifting I've been doing in the last 3 months, I may have to buy another set in a size up soon

haha. I just set a PR for my squat at 135 lb, 5 sets of 5 reps. Definitely working to overcome my dainty betaness. Got a way to go. But I've stubbornly committed to a lifestyle of improvement. I will admit I am still a pussy. First step of Alcoholics Anonymous is to admit it. I am a pussy.

At first glance this post doesn't seem very substantive until you realize that everything hinges on attitude. Frame is all about controlling your attitude. Rule 0: be fun This is the pep-talk I needed today OP.
