It’s been awhile since I’ve read it. However I’ve applied the, “show respect for other’s opinions. Never say: ‘you’re wrong,’” and been labeled a push-over. I’ve applied “the only way to get the best of an argument, is to avoid it,” and been labeled someone who isn’t confident in their values. I’ve applied the “start with questions to which the other person will answer yes” and been called out as a manipulator. I feel these methods have good merit, but unfortunately people don’t respond or think…

Dale Carnegie’s book is good advice for getting to know someone in the 90’s. Unfortunately, most of that book’s advice doesn’t hold up in today’s world. In fact, following most of his advice today, would get you labeled as a weirdo, at best, or a creeper at worst.
