Don't do that - you are already at a deficit so you are losing weight. Keep the weight as high as you can for a specific rep scheme. You will have to reduce it relatively to what you were doing before, but it's superior for both retaining strength and muscle mass to stay at higher weights. And don't go for around 10 reps go for 10 reps. You are just confusing your nervous system and your body that is already under stress in a deficit.

Body weight and fat have very, very little to do with how much pounds you can move around. Most of these lifts come from cns adaptations. His lifts are not "representative" of his stats not because he lacks muscle, but probably because he follows a program that does not have enough frequency (=/=volume) to allow for the cns to adapt. Bone density means almost nothing - bones are much lighter than you might think. With his stats his bones wouldn't be more than 40-45 lbs of his total bw. 225 16% o…

Low weight long distance, heavy weight short distance or mid weight mid distance for hypertrophy? I've been trying to figure out what gives a better pump and they all seem the same. Heavy weight shorter distance comes very slightly on top for traps/abs but could be a placebo. Does it even make a difference if the time under tension is greater than 1 minute?

While you are right, you can get to a decent above average level without peds. The difference is that it takes a much longer time along with a more strategic approach (since you are limited by recovery). I won't hide that I am a bit privileged to say that since my genetics are way above average for putting on size, lower body strength and muscle insertions (cosmically balanced with a wide waist). My MMA gym was a small competition gym so maybe I just had bad experiences I don't know - it was imp…

How is that different from what I said? Quoting myself "Unless you taking da magic chems or you just casually spar and you are not interested in competing or doing it seriously, in which case you can do both." There's no way you can do that without drugs - you just won't recover fast enough. I'm not the guy who's gonna say natty or not or whatever - each approach has its merits and they are suited for different people. All I'm saying is you cannot do both on an above average level if you don't u…

You can't be good at lifting and MMA - you have to pick one. Your lifting will suffer from MMA, and MMA will suffer from lifting. Lifting soreness compounds all the microinjuries and vice-versa. Pick one, do it for a few years then maybe do the other one as well if you built solid foundations. I tried really hard to reconcile the two, but it's impossible. Unless you taking da magic chems or you just casually spar and you are not interested in competing or doing it seriously, in which case you ca…

Since this post is intended for intermediates+, for beginners I have to say that your muscle doesn't understand if it's moving 100 or 400 or 1000 lbs for 1 2 3 4 200 reps. It only understands stress. When you are just starting it doesn't matter what you do as long as it provides sufficient stimulus and imo, taking everything to true exhaustion (every single set apart warmups) is far superior for a beginner to a set-in-stone routine of %RMs and # reps. Take the first step by going to the gym, lif…

Wow you blew my mind man - I'm always looking for little shit like this not only to improve my training but also just because I have taken a particular liking in just knowing stuff about the body. Never thought of that. Normally I just rotate back/front squats on a weekly basis but I will just try this for a while and see how it goes. After all I only care about how my back/legs looks so this does both lol

Good post and some additions: Most injuries occur on external and internal humerus rotators. Bros get a lot of internal rotation through pressing movements, but not as much external rotation. Strengthening those is important and it adds a great deal of stability to the shoulder. Doing pressing movement variants with an externally rotated humerus can work both the muscle you want such as the front/medial delts, and give you the added benefit of some rotator cuff strengthening. This requires signi…

I don't think this is a recent development. I may have not lived back then but I doubt the 50s were better. It's just the way the American dream works and it permeates all relationships. Friends, relationships, acquaintances, strangers; it's all about "what can you do for me?". While this system is stable as long as you provide the general populace with enough junk food, porn and worthless junk to sate their primal drives (along with meds and psych health care providers), when the money stops fl…

1 step back 2 steps forward. You are not relapsing back on blue pill tendencies, you are reaching a healthy balance. You will have a lot of those moments. Don't focus on the "it's just" part, focus on it's your turn part and enjoy it. When it ends it ends. Congratz on your success.

Nope but there is a chance I was pushing myself too hard because ever since I started going to the gym I do every single set to complete exhaustion. Honestly I semi deloaded this week and I already feel a bit better, so I will do another one next week given that I didn't drop the intensity enough (80% of my normal volume at the same weights is not a proper deload).

That's the problem - I was able to form meaningful relationships when I was back in my home country, but every time I have tried here I got fucked over and over again. That's why I became so disillusioned. I honestly don't think I am depressed, just disappointed that it seems impossible to have an honest bond like I used to.

The lagging part is probably true and so is the easy-peasy day to day peace. I guess I should just power through it and let the chips fall where they may. Besides there's some life-changing decisions I have to make soon that will also stir things up, hopefully for the better. I used to meditate a lot but I let the practice fade because I thought that I had reaped all the potential benefits I could get. It's time to start again. Thanks for this really appreciate.

That's nothing - some are assholes but if they see you often and you are consistent they become lambs. On the other hand however, martial arts gyms are home to some really shady and potentially dangerous individuals and I learned that the hard way. What you do is good and it can also make up for great dates. You should put yourself in the "hostile" gym environment once in a while to dispel your notions imo. You are right. I went from 0 physical activity to daily lifting/bjj for 6 months which left me with a lot of problems, even with a solid recovery protocol (voodoo flossing, foam rolling, daily stretching for 30 mins or so, adequate sleep and macro/micro nutrients). First time I had a massage from a PT my thighs were red, as in bleeding red, from all the broken scar tissue. At that point I couldn't squat with my body weight without thunderous, jolt-like, pains. All this can be avoided with a rati…

You can't perform maintenance on every muscle, especially ones that are injured easily and form scar tissue in a blink. Good luck lacrosse ballin that superspinatus. Leopard helps a lot, but it's not a cure all, and it definitely does not break scar tissue. It's invaluable for preventing injury and alleviating pain occasionally with the exercises at the back of the book. This is partially true, but it's also an extreme idealization of male bonding. To befriend a man you need to act like his dream woman; listen to his problems, offer emotional support, a pat on the back, let him unload his burdens. Action's fine, but it's also abundant for high level men. What I described is scarce and rare and that's why it lasts longer.

I don't agree with many of the responses here, even from ECs; here's why. Let's assume for a minute she is "well-behaved" and doesn't mention these things. Does that really matter if she is still thinking about it? Can you truly control her thinking? Can you make her feel differently about that guy? Because that is what is going to be affecting her behavior. Isn't it natural for a woman to look at a good looking guy? Isn't this what we are all on our way of becoming here? All I'm saying is that …

It's a balance between all the muscles involved in joint movements which includes the abs. However, the glutes are much stronger than any of you upper body muscles (since they are responsible for extending the largest joint in your body) so they exert a much larger force on your posterior chain than the abs. You should work on all these muscle groups at once - deadlifts are the best thing you can do for your posture IF you do them correctly.
/r/TheRedPill23/10/17 04:34 PM

Everything below is useless if you do not consciously correct your posture every time you notice is off. This is where it all begins - by teaching your nervous system to default to a correct posture. Bad posture many times starts from the glutes, which spreads to your lower back. Do you deadlift? Even at low weights, proper form can teach you proper posture and help activate your glutes (esp. if you do stiff, romanian or sumo deadlifts). For the top part of the posterior chain, imbalances betwee…

Thanks a bunch - I look too much into specifics because when I first hit the gym a few months ago I had major imbalances and I have been trying to fix them. For example I had overdeveloped quads, but my hamstrings (mainly strength wise not size wise) and adductors were lacking, to the point where the first time I went to the gym was a measly 85 lbs for 10 reps (ass to grass), while I could do 450 for the same reps on the leg press. It has gotten a lot better though

If that was the case no one would go to war. No one would blow themselves up for paradise. It all has to do with how deeply rooted the ideology is. You are extrapolating your own world view to other women. True there might be other women out there similar to what you describe yourself to be. Street fights are completely random and never worth it. You never know who will win. Here are some great stories: 1) Guy A insults other guy B. B drops him down and kicks him with all his force to the side of the head. A is unconscious and ambulance comes to take him. B gets expelled becomes a petty criminal. He was a good kid, slightly above average student that could have had some future 2) Headbutted a guy at a coffee shop cause he tried to steal my phone. Got kicked out and spent the night a…

Been in the States for a while. Love this place overall; there's a sense of independence that's hard to find anywhere else, at least from the places I've been to and I have been all around the world but Australia. However, the women, at least the ones I've interacted with are horrible, horrible and entitled. And they got absolutely nothing going on for them. I mean nothing; they are not even fun to game. Completely dry and passionless. As if they have no spark. I can go to a random South or East…

I realize it's gospel in this community that if a woman feels cared for her pussy will become as dry as the Gobi desert and she'll immediately run back to her violently abusive drug-dealing ex-boyfriend. This is because TRP is heavily represented by men who have cared for a woman from the place of betahood (the pill they were raised on) rather than from a place of alphahood. For a girl to say to herself, "He cares about me," "he" must be an alpha male because only the love and care of an alpha m…

Brought up by a single mother as well, good with women, but he similarly thinks he is hot shit when in reality his entire personality is a turtle shell that covers the complexes of his childhood. Overwhelm is a rather strong word. One of the most important things in TRP, if not the most important one, is to be able to tell your subconscious to shut up. Your conscious is nothing more than the sum of all the unconscious processes. There is no such thing as loss of control unless you are under the influence of something. What you refer to as fucking with your head, it's nothing more than one part of your entire psyche trying to tell you to do otherwise. This doesn't even matter, as long as …

We are talking 2nd year in college. Can't really expect these kids to have formed that type of social intelligence in 2017. Better to use it as a learning experience on how to build a strong frame than immediately discard them, especially if they have some usefulness left in them.

To an extent yes, it does have to do with morality. What is morality apart from a set of unspoken rules, sometimes enforced by law. Don't lie, don't cheat, w/e Moses had on his plates. That's not all however. What everyone alludes to as morality is pure, christian morality of love thy neighbor. There must always be a set of morals to guide a group, to maintain the alpha's status and the obedience of everyone else in the group. It's not only the advice; it's the feeling that someone out there knows who you truly are and accepts it. If you put all your chips on a woman you can lose. Badly. Spread your chips with men and never lose. I have to say though, it seems way easier making male friends in Europe than in the US. One more thing to mention is that apart from sharing present and future experiences, is to share past ones, especially traumatic ones. Nothing builds stronger male friendships than unloading your weight on your friend and your friend unloading his on you (no homo). Finding quality men to hang out with is easy. Well said. To add though: But the issue is that women also go along with their feelings on the moment, so none of this above might be enough the night when she's away at a conference, sharing a hotel apartment with her boss who is so attractive, after they've gone for a couple drinks, etc. This works both ways. If the scales of dread tip in the man's favor this is unlikely to happen. It goes back to abundance again; if you have 20 million in the bank you can afford to lose one in a bet.

While this is true, the sexual strategy of women changes once she has offspring, hence the duality of their strategy. Hypergamy is still active, but the need for a provider tends to be stronger, so assuming you are half an alpha bucks, you should be OK under that scenario. Is there a chance she leaves him? Sure but it's a chance, not an inevitability. If you pairbond with what OP describes, keep yourself true to RP values and have children with her, there should be enough incentives for her not …

It's not about being meek or submissive, but more about ignoring pointless arguments that you have nothing to gain from, which is 99% of what occurs in day-to-day life. Besides, you can still be an alpha for a tribe of 20 people, or 200000 manchildren. My post might have come across as preaching, which was not my intent. All I am asking in essence, is if th…

I'll leave the representing to you, so keep up the good work of triggering SJW and swelling TRP ranks. Personally at this point, in the finite time I have on this world, I have no aspirations of representing anyone but my close friends and family. Everything else can crash and burn. Maybe I'm a spergle, maybe a bird, don't matter. Besides, there's always Law #1 to abide by captain.

But does that matter, if you have achieved amused mastery? If I take 0 offense by someone monopolizing the conversation, and I am talking complete emotional void, isn't it like a pigeon taking a shit on central park statue? Pigeon had its day, but the statue is still gonna be there long after the pigeon dies. We talk about frame; but frame is something immovable, imperturbable. It's not a hammer. If nothing stirs within, what is the point of a show of dominance? Maybe that's an aspie's point of …

I don't know if that approach always works. Lately, I completely swapped from being a J. to being completely silent and just keeping an inviting body language even if I am challenged, just stoically listening. For some reason this seems to piss people off way more than when I was just arguing and handwaving. I get angry and argumentative, and I break frame. I stay quiet and calm (without faking it; from the bottom of my heart) and it drives other people mad. Isn't there a way to just keep everyo…

Try a mindful review. Don't just recall past events, but evaluate what was going on in your mind back then, what you would do differently, what are they rooted on (aversion/desire). In a very simplified manner the steps are: Recollect as vividly as possible Evaluate your degree of mindfulness then Regret the action or congratulate yourself for it, resolve to not repeat it or to repeat it, and recompense if someone was hurt in the process Identify the intent of you actions behind the event; where…

Another law says that your successes should be effortless. Did you make others believe that getting that number was sheer luck? Did you try to make them feel better about themselves or were you feeling disdain, which creeped into your interactions? In any case, you should get a new job, unless this one has benefits you forgot to mention. Try to find a job on campus (hall adviser etc.)

But I want a way to win; there has to be a way to get something out of the interaction. Mirroring, submission, flattery, covert contracts, something has to work. Mirroring and submission I have tried without any results. Many frames are bulletproof but none of them is water proof. There is always a crack, and what I am wondering is if this crack is consistent across dark triad personalities. Something to work around.

If a man is 60-70 years old, born and raised in blue pilled world, "happily" married for 20-30 years, with 2-3 children, living the American dream in a house in the suburbs, will probably not respond as well to such compliments. Not that he is immune, but after living the blue pill fantasy for so long, the auto response is to ignore it, or even better yet, something I have seen with my own eyes, to go tell it to his wife. If other clients are older or married etc, they have a much higher resistance for female charms, since blue pilled men will almost always protect their monogamy at all costs. Really depends on the circumstance. Then again, I don't know your boss or that guy so I am just hand-waving. Thank you for this post; it would be interesting, if you have the time and the experiences to share, on how to guard against such individuals. TRP tends to be very offense oriented, and a some focus on defending against people with such frames, would be useful. I think it is more psychological than anything. I doubt I have low T levels (at least I am totally asymptomatic to the symptoms described in the internet), and my sex drive was/is really high. It just feels like pursuing any woman is not worth my time on a conscious level, in the sense that I do not want to perturb this blissful equilibrium I have created in my daily life, of constant improvement, especially now at its initial stages. I would add that if you accept the potential issue of getting ED during the act, and tell console yourself that "it happens and it's OK", it will not only make you feel better, but also less likely yo have ED. Just accept it as a possibility that can happen to anyone, it's cool.

There are many things you can do but most of them are bandaids. You need to truly want to do this. No need to devalue yourself. When I say a fountain of joy, I mean that you genuinely have a good time, and invite people to join you, while YOU remain the epicenter. This is done from a position of power, not one of weakness. You will get to that point eventually as long as you consciously try. Personally, I was way off that mark but over the course of a few months with a lot of conscious effort, I am starting to genuinely get there. And it rocks. Just keep trying.

You need to become a fountain of joy and people will flock to you, especially in a small town. Study you own behavior as you are doing now, and try to consciously change it when it's about to happen. There exists randomness and luck in life, just not enough to affect the grand scheme of things, especially within the Red Pill framework. Regardless of the leeway, the rules and concepts are set in stone. Always better to disguise success with a veneer of luck. The point of randomness is that the outcome is not predictable with the facts at hand. For example, assume someone here follows everything to the T; lifts as much as humanly possible, practicing game diligently, dress better, work harder, define your mission, read game and non-fiction. This will lead him to become a great man, but does not mean that he will have 100% success rate with every single woman he tries to game. This is where randomness comes in; it's uncertainty. Your goal with meditation now should be to accept this pain as it is; be grateful you had the chance to connect with your ferret, and less sad that she might go. This is the circle of life. If it brings you to tears that's normal as well. Every time I medi…

Renaissance? Also the best thing you can do with wealth, is to internalize it i.e. I'm rich your not, bow down. Sounds like you have not done that yet. It will happen at some point when your unconscious clicks and goes "Holy shit I got money, ergo I'm worth more than other". True or not it matters not; what matters is the confidence that stems from it. You would also benefit from not over analyzing all this. Use the wealth, and the power that comes from it, to live the life you want and have fun…

When you are dealing with a man of principle and authority, the way out which is both honorable and Machiavellian (in your case it's mostly Machiavellian since you do not appear the least remorseful), is to submit to his authority and mirror his principles. No amount of manipulation will save you in this case. You are probably dealing with someone who has seen many people like you in his lifetime. You will just vindicate his anger and give him a hard-on for punishment. Let the wave crash i.e. ta…

Good post overall with a couple of remarks: Flow is not a controllable state. Nobody decides to enter flow; you just increase your chances by being prepared for the task, and as you said splitting it to smaller parts. High five-ing yourself after every task will make it easier, since you can consciously create "good feels" and allow your consciousness to feed them back to the unconscious. This takes a long time to have a measurable result, but it's a lasting one Your posts tend to be easy to rea…

There is a reason successful people abstain from sex/masturbation for long periods of time. This is know since antiquity, until Freud came and said that by redirecting libidinal components/energy to other tasks, you can gain more energy (paraphrasing "Civilization and its discontents). Is NoFap worth it if you are not addicted? Probably, if you do it once every 7 days. But that has nothing to do with NoFap itself, and everything to do with orgasm frequency; a fact that is well documented in peer…

/u/G_Petronius I don't know what it is about you, but this and your previous post on this subject are exactly what I have been thinking about the last week. It reads as if I wrote it myself. On top of this high quality post, I would add that you can train your emotions, through experience and conscious practice. By accepting them without fighting them and telling yourself they are normal, you can completely change your emotional response, over time. The entire mentality you described, also serve…

This is what I do following the instructions from the Mind Illuminated; it pertains to meditation and attention that scatters during practice, but it has really, really helped me in everything else as well. One more thing is, as long as the intent is there you always succeed. Just think of how you played catch as a kid; you intended to catch the ball and eventually you developed the eye-hand coordination required. As long as you intend to do something, and the intent itself does not abate, you w…

I would add that after you do it spend 30 seconds or so congratulating yourself even if it's something trivial. If you don't do it, very gently say "Next time I will do my best to do it". This type of positive reinforcement goes a very, very long way, because parts of your brain wants you to stay inert and others want you to become active. Positive reinforcement consciously, signals these parts that it's good for the organism to stay active, and over time changes their response. Just go back in …

Find an alpha, natural or made. By definition these people keep their emotions to themselves, but they almost always have someone they truly trust around to share their woes. I know from experience, because I have both shouldered and shared woes. Honest male relationships are forged by sharing emotions that you are not comfortable sharing with others. The complete opposite of what you would do with women anyway. When I say, share emotions I don't mean cry like a bitch, but be honest about how yo…

No you are not, but you need to replace them with other healthy activities. You already have some here, but you need more. Everything you mentioned is done by yourself. Add more people into the mix. Go out with friends, talk about your struggles with other men, go to events. Take your guitar and go play in a park or something. Relapsing is normal and a necessary part of the process to sobriety, because every single one can teach you something about yourself.

I am not saying she did not. But I like to view women like gases; the take up as much space they are given. And you step-father has given her an infinite amount of space to expand. With the above post I am not trying to make you leave your mom. That's why I said everything should happen covertly. The point is to make your step-dad see that she is not an ideal wife for HIM and divorce her. If done properly, nothing is gonna change between you and your mom. I disagree with most posts here. This man is not beyond saving. Any man that has the capacity to eat so much shit, also has the capacity to bounce back. It's some form of pathetic perseverance. It will be a long process, but I believe it is doable if you are really committed. Take this lump of coal, apply pressure over time and he will turn into a diamond. Crush the pill with a hammer and feed him a grain a time. You succeed and you just saved a man's life. This is a great achievement and it wil…

After I read the first line I started feeling nervous out of the blue. I still feel my stomach tight. That's what my gut was telling me but I could see no reason for it. That's where my problem lies; while I had a lot of mentors on how to deal with other men and forge strong friendships or develop professionally, I tend to crumble around women, even when I personally perceive them as low value when compared to me, be it due to looks, personality or lack of charisma, and I am still not able to expand this mentality into game. Don't go fully out of monk mode. Socialize, lift, meditate and read but do not reintroduce garbage into your life (facebook, porn, instagram etc.). Best thing to do now is to go out and enjoy the fruits of your labor like /u/tiger-muffin said. But for the love of God don't get too cocky and drop to old patterns of behavior. Keep improving. Good luck with the 6-pack

The feel-good/virtuous morality, preached by current society (and based on christianity), is nothing more than primal instincts turned inward; the instinct to have sex turned into shame, the instinct to have power turned into shame. That's why the most "virtuous" are the most deficient and, the ones most capable of revenge, because they deny their desires and they expect everyone else in society to abide by their code of "honor". Since this code (imposed to them by someone else - a higher power)…

I hear you brother; initially I was foaming because the same people that refused to hang our with me at the start (rich whites) because I wasn't American, are the same people that after Trump was elected were telling me I am lucky to be white and I should have no opinion about anything and all that shit, and that if I kept talking I would end up punched (that comment back then made me chuckle). I edited my comment, because I see now the last line sounded like I am in the KKK. My intent was to show that for these people -regardless of the adversity I had to face - I am here because I am a white man, not because I worked hard. That's what the "white above all" was for. Thanks for your kind words though. Even when my comment was misunderstood, you didn't flip out and gave good advice (which I am already following for the last few months).

This is the shit I have to deal with every day. I came to this country to do science, and in every seminar I go, every meeting I attend, this mentality permeates 90% of the participants. No meeting or seminar can end without a tip-of-the-hat remark to some social or political issue. Mind you talking top 10 STEM university, not some dumpster social studies program. GLO is right. His words might be harsh, but his post is written in a very warm, fatherly tone. Your happiness needs to come from within. Think of this; men before you endured wars, famine, loss of loved ones. Imagine you lived during WW2 or the Plague years. Even with all the losses you have built something for yourself. Take some solace in that. It is understandable to grieve, but none of the people you lost would want you to grieve for the rest of your life. Live by their example be it your me…

NoFap takes a lot of time, but yields the best results. Pornfree will give you results as well, but will take even longer. If you have been doing the dirty for a long time, 15 days are nothing for your brain to recover. Morning woods and erections btw doesn't have much to do with testosterone if you are a porn/masturbation addict. I had morning wood almost every day until I was 21. You are talking to a guy that used to plan his phone calls to the pizza place when he was 12. I know the pain very, very well. If you stick with it, I promise you, results will start flowing after the first week. After a month, you will have much better control of you emotions and thoughts. All it takes is to focus on what's happening right now. Planning has its place, but it shouldn't consume your thoughts. You can do this brother, just be diligent and consistent.

I started with some guided meditations from UCLA here here. After a week or so when I got used to that, I went to the meditation subreddit that has some more detailed information. I also bought Mindfulness for Beginners: Reclaiming the Present Moment, which is a good introductory book. If you are really serious about it, the mind illuminated is an amazing book. Thank you very much brother for keeping me on track. The fucking die part I got down on lockdown I think (still got an entire life to fully internalize it). If you see the mistakes as a part of a learning process you won't have trouble forgiving yourself. Meditation also helps with seeing situations for what they are. Excellent choice; hiking a trail completely removes any possible distractions and gives you a lot more time to think to yourself. Personally, I have learned more about myself in the last 4 months than in one and half decade of over analyzing all my actions, while still indulging in garbage behaviors. I am not gonna go into that "yeah bro we were made to kill elephants and fuck virgin manz dude" that has unfortunately befallen nofap, much to the chagrin of people that have an actual problem. You have your whole life to deal with whatever decision you make. You only have a few days (months, weeks?) before he dies. Go to him, tell him everything you have told us. Don't ask why he acted like a dick; instead ask him how in his eyes you would have been a better son. This ain't about the money.
