I feel like men talking politics ( seriously) over drinks is the clearest indicator they are unaccustomed to social situations . I've talked about Spiritual , Metaphysical , existential things and I've talked about stupid shit but to me no subject kills female interest and honestly ruins the tone of a good time more than politics.

Granted for some men it may be the subject they enjoy the most but I have seen too many situation where much like you said one person uses political talk as a way to flex his " I'm so fucking knowledgable " muscles " and it kills the vibe of the group .

It's a bit off-subject to your point but I feel like only men with decent social skills and who are good at gauging an audience can talk politics over drinks without becoming that overbearing shrill person you described poor J as becoming . It's something I've only seen more mature men able to pull off because much like you did they make a point and move on . politics is a subject filled with land mines hanging out htere too long will bite most of us in the ass.

I have watched his vids and he's smack on target. He's 1 year ahead of me in age and light years ahead with his insights. Alpha is physical AND mental mindset- he's the mentally fit alpha. I've seen plenty of J's and they universally rule by fear, not by admiration. And even then I have seen them toppled by insurrection

In other words, the guy was trying to be an alpha with the girls by dominating the other males but failed to do so. You called him out on him, and you won. Good. Very good.

One thing to take note of in these situations is that red pill works equally well on women as it does weak men. Reverse wannabe-Chads gender and you've passed a classic shit test from a queen bee. Remember, being a true alpha is absolute self confidence.

The problem with a story like this is that while it worked well in this particular situation, among 30+ year olds, one 49 year old, and a late 20 year old blowhard, in a controlled, preplanned gathering where all of these people were to meet and converse over food and drink, it's going to sell a false story to some of the loser men around here.

Some idiot is going to read this and think that if he goes to the bar and sits in the corner, sipping his beer quietly and creepily, not trying to be a blowhard asshole like all those guys talking to girls, then people will notice how cool he is. And he'll think that when he finally interjects himself and speaks up and to say something to contract one of those cool guys he was creepily eavesdropping on, he'll win. But instead, everybody will look at him like he's an obnoxious creep who just butted into their conversation uninvited and will shame him the fuck out of the bar for being a loser.

When in doubt, it's better to be the obnoxious asshole everybody has an opinion about than to be the quiet guy nobody notices or everybody thinks is a stick in the mud. While it's definitely superior to be the smart alpha who is socially apt, reads the situation, and plays it well, too many idiots around here think that drinking quietly in the corner and creepily eyeing girls across the room is cool.

I do not like the title, it is misleading, nobody is going to promote Stever Urkel to alpha because he acts like himself. Some men are born more alpha (it is a spectrum) and some strive to become more alpha in behaviour. How does one become brave? By doing brave things. Also two questions:

thanks for this story (29 in early learning). I've had situations very similar to this and know of somebody exactly like J who is not alpha naturally but tries hard to be. Just wondering how bad are cigars for you? i always head out with my mates for a smoke but don't actually smoke myself. Sometimes i'll pinch a casual smoke here or there but i'd be keen to pick up cigars (mostly cos of the flavour). But are they just as bad for you as cigarettes?

I don't know if that approach always works. Lately, I completely swapped from being a J. to being completely silent and just keeping an inviting body language even if I am challenged, just stoically listening.

For some reason this seems to piss people off way more than when I was just arguing and handwaving. I get angry and argumentative, and I break frame. I stay quiet and calm (without faking it; from the bottom of my heart) and it drives other people mad. Isn't there a way to just keep everyone happy? Wouldn't the alpha way be to just establish order in an amicable and reassuring way? For example in this case, this J. guy could have some acquaintances that could be to your benefit. Now he is going to be your "enemy" forever.

TRP preaches boundaries and not shying away from a confrontation, but having lived my entire life in this way, it feels like that you gain nothing. The only purpose of doing that is to make sure that you "feel" good within, by not having your values trampled. But on the other hand why does this matter? Time's running out, we are all going to die, your beliefs are your own and no one but you can change them. Why not make everyone feel good and reap the benefits? I am not talking about being a pushover; far from it. If you think of it, why the fuck does it matter what J thinks or does? Another brick in the wall. Another person that fails to realize that everyone is exactly like him, living life in auto pilot following whatever his ego tells him. All I'm saying is, assuming all of us have some degree of amused mastery, we should be amused by these individuals, in the literal sense, not try to teach them a lesson.

I hope all this rumbling makes some sense; of course you are more experienced than me, so in all likelihood you know better.
