My boyfriend references this song ALL THE TIME. When we woke up this morning he turned to me and said "It's breakfast tiiime!!" Hahaha

I took a couple weeks away from my favorite subreddit and returned to find my favorite contributing ladies missing! Glad I was able to follow the trail of breadcrumbs here. :) I don't know (or care) what happened, but I do know who I want to grow alongside and learn female sexual strategy from!

"All of my girlfriends have been crazy, but your crazy is managed" (echoing others but....) "I'm so proud of you" "That was really good" said to an empty plate The best compliment though is how tight he holds me when we cuddle.

Thank you so much for the link and the quote. Reading more on this is so helpful to actually living like that. I find that what I put in my brain is what I tend to get out! I make an effort to never speak badly of my boyfriend to anyone be it my family, my friends, his friends or strangers. I even catch myself sometimes teasing him about inconsequential things, and wishing I could take it back. If I have any comments or concerns about any attitude he might have or poorly chosen words he may have…

Thank you for this. I have done my very best to be respectful of them while still disagreeing. I believe that because of this, they have made more of an effort to see what I see rather than sticking to their first impression. I just wish it was a quicker process I suppose. If I get continued discouragement though, I think that I will definitely use this pact idea!

Thank you so much for these words! I think this highlights my real issue with all of this, that I don't feel trusted or respected in my decision. I love my family and they typically give great advice, but my biological parents are divorced and my mom and step-dad live a sort of reverse RedPill marriage (mom is the captain and he is her first mate). My best friend also (and I love her to death) married a guy who is very beta and content to be in her shadow. I got to a point where I was so frustra…

They have given their opinion and advice on most if not all big decisions in my life, sometimes critical and other times encouraging. They can helicopter sometimes, but have gotten much better. My issue is that they initially love my past two boyfriend who, in looking back, were stereotypical betas (maybe omegas). I would love the attention and royal treatment I got, but would eventually feel unchallenged and not led. Now that we're not together they'll point out those exes faults, but that's no…

I will absolutely continue to be in love with him. :) Thanks! He does have a lot of alpha traits (sometimes frustratingly so!) and I believe that self-confidence and self-assurance can be seen as arrogance, which while I might find that cockiness attractive, it is not appealing to my parents. I understand that marriage would not be between me and my parents, but I am so close with them that their disapproval could be a huge heartbreak in my life for years and years. Thank you so much for your ad…

I know that actions speak louder than words and while I'm patient with other things I guess I'm less so with this. I have always trusted my parents advice (because they're usually right), but I just feel that they don't understand how I really feel. They do just want me to be happy, and I think their concern is that I'm not or I won't be because he's not the typical "nice guy". I just wish I knew of a way to feel less discouraged and maybe to speed up their approval process. ;) Thank you so much…

Oh sorry! I guess that was a terrible introduction. I'm 22, a recent graduate, and now hired 5th grade teacher in the Southern United States. I love cooking and baking along with bonfires and hikes. My boyfriend is 26 and, in his wonderful ambition, has started his own business.

I personally don't think it's your place to fix someone else's wife or marriage, and highly inappropriate that it's an ex. No one can convince someone to change. If she becomes struck with grief and realization that she's messed things up then maybe she should read The Surrendered Wife. But again, I don't think that's anywhere near your place.

I am not sure if there is any more information on the site about it, but there might be. It sounds to me like you get a surprise dress in your selected size, but if you don't like it or it doesn't fit right, you can send it back, and get credit toward a future purchase that you might like better. I don't have the answers (I just thought it was a great deal), but they have excellent customer service. :)

I'm in school so I don't have a whole lot of money but what I like to do is let him pay if we go out, and if I make dinner for him, I buy all the ingredients he doesn't have. I like to see him often but because I don't have a whole lot of money I would feel worse if we did more things out (expensive).

Things have been going very well!! Just trying to break bad habits and practice first mate qualities. When he and I met in August, I acted like a plate and he treated me as such. Through a series of circumstances including hopping off the carousel, a break, and few conversations about what we each wanted, we started seeing each other with more intent toward a relationship. And on Valentine's Day, about 6 months after we met, he admitted I was his girlfriend. It's been quite a journey, but I'm gl…

I met my man on tinder in August. :) You have to weed out the bad ones anywhere you look and tinder is no exception, but that doesn't mean there aren't some gems!!

I'm just curious (because I honestly don't know) is that something that is true in the long term as well? If the man I care about begins to do sweet things for me because he cares about me, I will lose interest? Should I not want him to be sweet to me? Using the example given above, if I feel unloved because he doesn't take the time to text me, is reaching a compromise about texting going to, in the end, turn me off to him?

Never having had an experience like this myself, I can only tell you my opinion so take it with a grain of salt. :) Because of whatever medical trouble he is going through, I imagine that his pride is severely hurting. If he is incapable of doing things he previously could have he might be experiencing feelings of worthlessness. My suggestion is that being cheery and making meals for him and these little treats might be making him feel coddled, further hurting his pride and making him become mor…

Serving another person without looking for something in return is a mark of a faithful and loving woman. Love isn't something that requires gain, only sacrifice. Having a straight forward focus of serving a man and your future family doesn't make you single minded, but committed. Bitterness has no place here.

I won't judge or condemn you for having a FWB, but I will say in my personal experience, displaying RPW traits in that type of casual relationship will most likely make you "catch the feels". (But you never know, perhaps he will too!)

Such a beautiful well written answer. Thank you. I think my issue is the trust factor. This takes more dissecting on my part (determining if it's my own insecurity keeping me from trusting or red flags from the man I'm interested in), but with that admiration, respect, and trust (and of course attraction) all working hand in hand I can see how there is no need for comparing the effort put forth by either party.

There's my answer! Thank you! I am curious though, how would you suggest balancing being selfless towards your man, but having reasonable expectations so that you're not being taken advantage of? (This is referring just to day to day not Valentine's Day) Edit: Is an unequal amount of effort being put forth from each party bad? Or should we as women seek to make their job easier in the dating realm?

(A little off topic but) Is putting an emphasis on Valentine's Day a good idea? I too have considered using Valentine's Day as a sort of litmus test to gauge a man's interest in really pursuing a relationship with me, but I worry that perhaps I might be setting my expectations too high for something that might be "just another day" to him.

Because of the nature of the app, the hook-up pressure is going to be very likely, but that doesn't mean that relationships are impossible to come from using it.

Interesting that there is this sort of response to the book. Granted it has been awhile since I read the book but I felt it reaffirmed the importance of feminine beauty and grace, and explained why we as women long to be desired (especially more so than men). I didn't feel that the book encouraged anyone to put themselves above God, but I will have to reread the book critically. Thank you for this piece of criticism! I look forward to digging into it further!

Love and Respect is a wonderful book and a great recommendation. I agree that there is a lot of bitterness from men on the RedPill subreddit. While it's rough and angry and sometimes hard to hear, many of them are bitter because they've been pushed down and minimalized and are just now realizing the leaders and type of men they should have been raised to be, but haven't been. I find RedPillWomen to be much less like this (although I'm still very new here too). I like to think that we as women ca…

I don't know how many in this sub are Christian, but the main reason that I have agreed so much with RedPill theory is because of how neatly it fits with the biblical view of marriage and gender roles. Some quotes that really struck a chord with me: Basically, Peter is saying that the role of the wife is to submit to her own husband, to respect him, honor him, revere him, and love him the way God has called her to. Peter is reminding these women that this life is not only about making the outwar…

What a wonderful article!! I can't wait for a relationship of my own to pour so much hard work into! In the meantime, I'll work on those important points they mentioned: working on that one problem behavior (at least one at a time), dealing with your own "stuff", and learning how to "soothe and comfort yourself". Marriage is something you learn on the job, but that doesn't mean we can't prepare to be the best spouses possible!

I don't believe him to be a very "experienced" alpha. And despite the manipulative nature of plate spinning, I know that he isn't a liar. As far as raising my SMV, that is something I am working on and I've gotten quite a few helpful suggestion from this subreddit. Do you have any advice on how I can go about raising my SMV as well?

You're right! I used the word command, but I meant more the alternate definition: "be in a strong enough position to have or secure" synonyms being: "receive, get, gain, secure". A true captain shouldn't have to demand it but rather be worthy enough to secure your respect.
/r/RedPillWomen14/12/14 07:29 PM

I'm not an experienced RPW (newbie here too) but I can say that if you're having that strong of doubts, that maybe you're having those doubts for a reason. You shouldn't have any doubts about the man who is going to be your captain because he'll need to command 100% respect 100% of the time.

It's such a simple concept, but you saying "you only need one" is such an encouragement to me. It's an "Of course, duh, I knew that" moment, but hearing is really refreshing. Thank you.

When you opened with "C'mon now." my heart immediately sank. I do realize what I have let my life turn into, and the self-guilt in addition to the way others have judged my actions (harshly but fairly. like I mentioned I came here for advice not sugar coating) has really been rough. BUT I made an assumption and was incorrect. Thank you for your gracious and kind advice. Thank you so much for commenting. This is some of the realest talk so far and I really needed this spelled out for me. I'm not sure how I feel about guys being able to "get youthful fucks out of their system" while my actions have permanently lowered my market value and disqualified me from some men. But I suppose that how I feel about it isn't terribly relevant.

I know you're just mocking but yes there is something empowering about knowing you have that appeal. But it's hollow and shallow and it's not what I want anymore. I'd rather cultivate my appeal and spoil someone who matters with it.

I think you're absolutely right and I don't want to stick around hoping for something that he made very clear from the beginning he had no intentions of. I don't know where along the way I decided I didn't want a LTR, but my choice to then date around hooking up was the wrong path to take. I know this now. As for the last part you said, are you suggesting just wording it differently? (I mean I'm not desperately hoping anymore. Not that I really ever thought there was a chance because I don't wan…

I didn't learn about the concept of plates until after I joined tinder. I knew from the moment I learned the definition that that's what I was. Not proud of it but that's the truth.

Thank you so much for your long, well thought out response. I'll admit that some of what you said stung, but I didn't ask for advice because I want to feel good. I asked because I fucked up and I need help. I suppose he could be lying when he told me he has feelings for me, but whether he does have feelings for me or not, I have been played. I don't plan on sleeping with him anymore, in fact the plan is to not have contact at all because I don't want to be, as you so gently put it, pathetic. Get…

You don't think that the feelings he has developed for me may make him interested in pursuing me as something more than a plate if he knows I won't accept that anymore?

My emotional reaction was me ending contact with him. Just not in the mature way I wish I had done it.

I may have botched up the non-emotional part. While I know that that would have been the best option, I was slightly tipsy when he shut me down rudely last night so it came out in a way that I wouldn't have done completely sober. I did say however something along the lines of "while I want to hate you, I really do care about you so I hope that have the life you want" (except a more vulgar regrettable version). *gave not give. I've realized that doing that put me at a huge disadvantage because I didn't expect to want to be with him as much as I do. Now that I know that though, I can't continue to have this go on as is.

Also: Is there any possibility of him treating me as anything more than a plate ever? I know that he has feelings for me, I can see it in his eyes. Is there a chance that if I end this because I refuse to be a plate, that he might pursue me in a LTR type capacity?

Thank you so much! I know that keeping busy is really going to be my best bet. (And being back home and far from the temptation that is him will definitely be good for me) I think the hardest thing for me in keeping busy is going into it with a mindset that "I want to improve myself so that I will be better" and not "Ha! Wait til he sees how awesome I really am!"
