Yeah agree. It’s so random. People doing nothing wrong and bam…gone. Makes you approach life very differently once you’ve experienced it. Kids are the worst though.

Ex copper here and had the same experiences over 21 years. The thing with this pstd stuff is that it doesn’t suddenly hit you. It’s like every time you have one of these experiences you’re taking a rock and putting it in a backpack you carry around. Over time those rocks get heavier and heavier and one day it’s a struggle to get up in the morning and put the backpack on. Interesting. I read the sidebar article about their teenage level emotional maturity and the two must be related. A mature person would have faith that they made the right decision whilst an immature person needs validation through the closure conversation. Same goes for the effect of other women being interested...if you only have value in light of others giving you that value then she isn’t capable of making mature judgement herself.
