Love how when a man cheats it’s the woman’s fault for withholding sex, but when a woman cheats its the woman’s fault because of hypergamy and trashiness.

Not so. You don’t get ostracized merely for making conversation. Allegations come from, as has been said, taking home someone who’s drunk or one-on-one conversations at work, or a number of other things. Approaching is not harassment unless you’re at work or something obviously. Or persistent. You have to be able to read when something’s gone sour. And it’s spelled out plain as day in body language.

I agree. I know my female friends aren’t strictly speaking useful, but they have helpful effects. A lot like going to a therapist. You wouldn’t expect your therapist to drive 2 hours to pick you up, but she is still calming and you can hang out and lay out your problems and whatnot all the same. No reason to cut women out completely. Just have to be aware and intentional.

I think what he should do is explain why he came to these conclusions, as they are not intuitive. That means using anecdotal or, better yet, empirical evidence. I can come up with a number of principles about dating or texting but without some context and evidence I don't really have anything. I see the iron law of seduction in here, which we all know already. So I'm struggling to see what else is important and supported by reality. Edit: Also, paradoxically, following a bunch of rules means tha…

Whoops. Looks like this sub is yet again supporting spousal abuse. You guys are like the people on the Donald who say they aren't racist but use caricatures like tyrone and pajeet like they're going out of style. I mean I understand the whole innocent until proven guilty and the dangers of the court of your peers, but saying that a woman should stay with somebody who is physically abusive because "men fight with their fists" is just retarded. I hope some of ya'll never have daughters.

You need to move past the anger phase. Physical abuse isn't good for anyone

The difference is explained here. Btw chicken is another word for the hawk-dove game. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicken_(game)#Chicken_and_prisoner's_dilemma I think it changes the ESS as well, and the basin of attraction (the attractive pull each outcome has on mixed strategies using a learning equation like Reinforcement Learning). Don't quote me on that though. Also incidentally what you're talking about in that last paragraph is an Evolutionarily Stable Strategy, the ability of a populat…

Just for clarity, hawk dove is a different game than prisoners dilemma. Although I think you are right about tit for tat with forgiveness.

This model is merely saying people prefer to cheat, but both people cheating is undesirable, and draws a series of logical conclusions from that. I'm not arguing that the real world isn't more complex, this model only focuses on one key element to facilitate understanding of our more complex reality.

I see what you're saying. I am not sure I agree that can knowing about your partner cheating be the basis for a healthy ongoing relationship, but that can be explained by modifying the payoffs a bit. If a woman who was being cheated on was receiving more utility by being in the relationship than not, it would maybe be possible to remain a dove. But she'd be less happy than if she was in a dove-dove scenario, meaning that she isn't acting rationally in that situation by staying with a non faithfu…

I don't understand ops mentality that women ONLY want alphas or masculine men. I unfortunately was once the 'other guy', I was a complete beta and she was crazy about me. I'm sure her boyfriend would never suspect me as I was so effeminate. But I couldn't hide my distaste for the whole thing around her bf, and acted all wierd. This thing shows through clear as day, op has a huge ego and a misunderstanding about what women like and don't like. 'Would never fuck him'.. like seriously? She has prob…

Caring about people isn't weak or unmanly. When you die, is that the legacy you want to leave? A cold, uncaring person disposing of others like used fleshlights? Personally I don't have any intention of remaining single my whole life, I want to pair bond with someone who also can pair bond with me. Op lost his chance at a girl he liked, and let the opportunity pass by. Life indeed does have limited opporrunity, there's only so many internships, jobs, girls that you can have. I think it is import…

Stopping: Uncertainty about finances (keeping track of where money and spending is) Passivity in dating (actually get around to using okcupid or similar) Wasteful habits (not collecting money, eating out more than 5 meals a week) Adding: 1 physical activity per week. Doesn't matter what it is I'll start counting today!

Interestingly, a symptom of autism is the inability to see other people as free thinking. Instead you see them as characters who are unable to respond in an unexpected fashion, and simply do the few basic tasks they're programmed to do.

Generally someone of lower income and status typically carries debt, vices, poor upbringing and role models, and deals with emotions and conflict in a backwards way. I don't really see a problem with at least making sure somebody isn't completely unmotivated and directionless with their career

Yeah, the idea I think is really interesting. Malcolm gladwell wrote on the subject concerning bagel sales, basically people who make more money or consider themselves holy are more likely to do immoral things like steal bagels from a self-pay table. People who express a non-racist view (support for Obama) are then more likely to express a racist view immediately afterward becuase they've already identified themselves as good people (these were two studies on moral licensing). This can obviously…

I feel it, I hate gyms. If you want to get on that path to improvement I would recommend group fitness classes - yoga, pilates, jiu jitsu, other martial arts. They are in my experience non judgemental and will push you through a moderate workout so you don't have to worry about quitting. It's just like.. if I leave everybody will be looking at me so why not stay? Group classes really helped me get on track. I'll never go to a gym alone though

Meh this is just a semantic argument. 70% of the girls in the dating world being overweight is quite possible. There's a selection bias for thin women to be in relationships, so obviously it is possible for a group of people to be above population average.. Also obviously he pulled that number out of his ass so I don't know why you typed such a large rebuttal
