Own Your Shit Weekly - June 21, 2016Common advice around here is, think what you would do if you were single, and then do that. But the truth is, if I was single right now, I'd be miserable and depressed and lonely. Really? You can't imagine anything you'd do? Nothing on your bucket list, wouldn't fuck all the bitches, take a year at a monastery, quit your job and become a baker? Loneliness has been an issue for me for a long time, I only recently unwrapped my other issues enough to understand that. Have you tried metta meditation… | /r/MarriedRedPill | 28/06/16 12:46 PM
Own Your Shit Weekly - June 07, 2016Appreciate your posts, yours is a very different perspective. As for bodyweight exercises, they're fine for a basic level of strength and flexibility. What is your goal? If your goal is a masculine physique (more muscle) then your best return on investment for time/effort is lifting and bodyweight will max out at some point. But anything is better than nothing, so going bodyweight for a few months will give good returns especially if you're starting from not much. | /r/MarriedRedPill | 09/06/16 01:09 PM
Own Your Shit Weekly - June 07, 2016I still want my wife to desire me for who I am with no RP techniques applied. I know how stupid this is but I still feel bad for RP to work on my wife. Sounds like there was some RP techniques in the moment, but imagine trying exactly that 18 months and pushing past resistance; likely contemptuous dismissal and anger. Surely some dread going on now, "I better fuck him when he wants it or someone else will." You're a man worth making an effort for now. | /r/MarriedRedPill | 09/06/16 01:03 PM
Own Your Shit Weekly - June 07, 2016I understand the men women children puppies flow of “love” so I know not to expect them to reciprocate equally. I’m not sure what I would consider an equitable reciprocation which is probably why I exude frustration as butt-hurt uptightness most of the time I’m around my kids and wife. This reeks of covert contracts. I've struggled with similar issues and my solution is to frame it like this; I play roles. Father, husband, son. They're jobs. Like a job they have responsibilities and I do th… | /r/MarriedRedPill | 09/06/16 12:40 PM
Is anyone here taking cold showers?Don't do cold showers but have done a lot of cold water swimming; when the water is less than about 14C I can feel my circulation changing and it doesn't feel cold anymore, just ... intense. With extended cold water swims my metabolism is fired up for a couple days after, I eat a lot more and lose weight. re:the shedding pounds from the cold look into "brown fat" | /r/askMRP | 26/05/16 11:10 PM
FR on accidental masculine demonstrations, and how, even years later they stick with women. As others have said, Google and plan. No need to broadcast what you're doing or planning to do. You can have a look at something, research it, decide you can't handle it then get it handled by someone else. But taking responsibility for getting it fixed is the key thing. Not handy, then get contractors and get it done. But do it without looking for approval from mommy. Most of the stuff I fix and maintain she has no idea. It's my job. This can be good alpha or good beta (relationship comfort) de… | /r/MarriedRedPill | 26/05/16 10:52 PM
Own Your Shit Weekly - May 17, 2016are these symptoms Maybe… I read a lot but mostly cherry pick for what is of use to me. I can’t claim any comprehensive knowledge. Recommend you read around yourself, but it does sound similar. The question is not does she have GAD, but is treating her as though she does a more useful model than whatever you’re doing now. It was for me. You say it took two years for you - but did things eventually get better? Hell yeah. Things have been on a slow but steady upward trajectory since then. So; she … | /r/MarriedRedPill | 21/05/16 03:02 PM
Own Your Shit Weekly - May 17, 2016Physically, I think I look like your standard Jesus on the Cross But sex -- and affection in general -- has dropped off again. Maybe she's not digging the stigmata? You had a recent post indicating that your wife experienced childhood abuse. I can't speak to that but from what I've read and observed that can manifest as anxiety. I got some coaching from a red-pill aware guy a while ago and he pointed out that my wife likely has Generalized Anxiety Disorder and that progress with women that have … | /r/MarriedRedPill | 20/05/16 01:43 PM
Own Your Shit Weekly - May 17, 2016I’m going to echo what everyone else is saying; “Hit the fucking gym”, but with some implementation recommendations. A lot of guys don’t know how to get started and are crap at developing habits. You sound seriously unmotivated now, so hitting it hard probably isn’t an option to start. Key to getting to the gym is to reduce the effort to get there. Do you have a workout bag with everything in it, ready to go all the time? If not, put one together. You should be able to get out the door in one mi… | /r/MarriedRedPill | 18/05/16 05:48 PM
Mental Models, Deep Stories, and knowing what you want - revisitedNicely put. My experience with meditation is consistent with your description, though the resultant insights tend to happen randomly and not during the practice itself. Patterns, associations I never considered, insight into my past and motivations, realizing others' perspectives. I feel like I'm seeing what really is then the box gets shaken again and that story gets rewritten too. | /r/MarriedRedPill | 18/05/16 05:38 PM
Own Your Shit Weekly - May 10, 2016Your goals from last week look almost exactly like your goals for this week. Why not shorten your list to 1 thing and actually do it? Sick or not, a man has shit to do, he does it. | /r/MarriedRedPill | 16/05/16 06:25 PM
Are Survivors Different? There are some interesting MAP threads on Athol Kay's site involving wives with a history of abuse. There was one in particular where the man shows solid but very slow progress over a long period of time. If I remember the userid of the guy I'll post it. Not a huge fan of his forum anymore, but there's useful stuff in there if dig around a bit. | /r/MarriedRedPill | 16/05/16 06:11 PM
Time to accept realityReplying to my own reply here to maintain context. I’ve been thinking on this for the last couple of days and have realized something that may help. I wonder, does your wife know what you want and like? One of the “nice guy” symptoms is not expressing preference and I was certainly quite opaque that way. That leads to a shitty feedback loop of not getting what you want so nobody can tell what you want. My big realization is that: the good results with that second birthday party came as a side ef… | /r/MarriedRedPill | 06/05/16 01:45 PM
Time to accept realityWhat are your plans for your birthday? What did you do for her birthday? Exactly this happened to me; boo hoo, my wife doesn't care enough to do much. So fuckit, nobody is responsible for my fun but me, called my best buddy to go out for dinner and beers. He surprises me, invites all our friends, turns into the best birthday of my life. Stagger home at 4am. Wife's birthday a few months later; I invite her family, friends, get her favourite cake, nice present, set up a party. I've been doing this… | /r/MarriedRedPill | 04/05/16 09:31 PM
Own Your Shit Weekly - May 03, 2016I'm struggling with not having any "feelings" for my wife. I feel contempt for her. I'm trying to act fatherly towards her, and can wake up in the morning resolving to do so, but as soon as I see her I revert back to contempt and want nothing to do with her. Any thoughts on this? I've been there and it ain't good. She's certainly picking up on it on some level. Have you tried metta (also known as loving kindness) meditation? A solid technique for reducing negative feelings you have for others. I… | /r/MarriedRedPill | 04/05/16 01:41 PM
Help internalizing NMMNGWhat have you done in order to feel instead of analyze? Read NMMNG a while ago so I don't remember the details from the book with regards to this. But I'll tell you what I've learned from meditation. Emotions are physical; anger (for example) isn't the rant going on in your head about what your bitch of a wife did and how she always does that and fuck her, it's the state your body is in. Pay attention to that, understand what anger is for you, where it lives in your body in; tenseness in your he… | /r/askMRP | 29/04/16 01:04 PM
Some Thoughts On VisionI think the "astronaut" all encompassing monolithic vision is less common and less useful than it seems due to selection bias. People who become astronauts (or successful musicians) usually have a widely publicized story about how they always dreamt of that and then they achieved it! And you can too! It's damaging because for every "astronaut" with a single minded vision who succeeded there are ten thousand who tried just as hard or harder and failed, and it gives the impression that "visions" s… | /r/MarriedRedPill | 12/04/16 02:34 PM
Some Thoughts On Vision"goals" and "vision" are ambiguous terms that can have different meaning to different people. I recommend choosing a specific model of this to clarify what these words mean for you. I use David Allen's GTD system. It defines "Vision" as ... long term three to five year goals. What would success look, sound or feel like that far down the road? How will you know it when you get there? Write it down and review this once a year to make sure you are on the right path. GTD has a hierarchy of elements … | /r/MarriedRedPill | 12/04/16 01:11 PM
Own Your Shit Weekly - March 15, 2016After being thrown last week by my belated realization that wife doesn't love me and likely hasn't for a long time What do you mean by love? You might want to clarify that. The english word "love" is almost uselessly broad. What specific things are you not getting from her that you want? | /r/MarriedRedPill | 20/03/16 03:08 PM
FR: Itty Bitty experiment by the new guyThe larger problem I found: I don't know what I really want. Did I WANT to sit by myself? Don't know, not sure I WANTED to sit with my wife either. It was kind of a forced decision in the presence of a non-decision. I think this is a career Beta problem....we loose track of what we want. Gotta practice recognizing what I really WANT to do at any given time. This. This is a profound insight. You don't get what you want till you know what you want. The consequence of career beta-dom is the suppres… | /r/MarriedRedPill | 20/03/16 02:58 PM
