I suppose this is the back drop to my question which I thought was implied. Is there a way to frame it where I can still lead the interaction while she lets me in on some local knowledge?

Pick up a new hobby or rediscover an old one. It doesn't matter what it is.

And sometimes it's just a bad time and place and nothing would make a difference no matter how you approach it. There isn't really a whole lot of information provided about context to make worthwhile assumptions. My first thought was that your calibration was off and it wasn't an appropriate time for either of them to want to be opened, but that is complete conjecture from me. It's not really worth thinking about. My advice would be ask for a number quickly to escalate the interaction and make i…

Firm rules would be stupid and show a level of emotional insecurity or social ineptitude. You need to judge each date, each woman, each circumstance separately. The key is to keep escalating, but you need to escalate at different rates for different women. I typically find if a date is too platonic it's because I'm discovering I'm not particularly into her.

It's relatively inconsequential though. At the point in time you are approaching it is impossible to know what other friction may exist, it's kind of the point of approaching. The only information available to you is that you find her attractive and want to approach, therefore you approach. After that it's just a matter of calibration and what is happening during the interaction and when you break off. It becomes obvious really quickly if they want to be alone, it's basic social cues. Assuming a…

Typically i think about if I would just fuck them, date them or none of the above.

Date other women and keep her as a friend. A close female friend is a good friend to have when it comes to expanding your social networks, they can make decent wings as well.

Excuses like this are what is holding you back. How many hours a week do you work? How are shifts split? How often are you at the gym? I've seen research grad students who have entire days of labs, hit the gym 3 or 4 times a week, play competitive sports and still have time for dating and downtime. Sure it's entirely possible that you have literally no time, but since you're on reddit I kind of doubt it ;)

Congratulations! You've got your first rejection and it didn't kill you! See how easy it is to not let it bring you down? You don't need to read more, you need to experience more, find things to do that give you conversation topics and experiences to talk about.

No it's a basic part of being a socially functional member of society. It's actually really simple. You google your town's name followed by an activity ie London badminton and you see where local clubs meet up. Then you turn up and see what it's about. As an example, I went to the UK gymnastics website last week and found my nearest adult beginner group. I phoned them up and said I was interested, could I turn up and have a go. Tonight I'll be going there for the first time. I'm not going there …

The purpose of most of those tiny tactics are used to get anxious men into a healthier mindset, not necessarily to win the woman over. We realise you are human but for some to taket women off a pedestal they need to 'gamify' the situation as an introduction to start desensitising themselves.

It isn't a big deal unless you feel like it's a big deal. The most important thing is that you aren't stagnating, typically men age pretty well throughout their 20s. Make sure you are aging well, taking opportunities that present themselves to you and creating opportunities to the best of your ability. If you are just 'passing time' then I would say that is a problem, since it implies a stagnation of your personal development.

It's definitely a lot more difficult. Don't waste the opportunities you have at college.

It's well written, for the most part it's well thought out. It doesn't over promise anything. It's accessible. The advice it gives is consistent and simple. The biggest thing for most people I think is that it's supported by observation. If you look at guys who are good with women and have successful relationships you'll see that they generally display a lot of the traits the book.

It depends really. I like being alone with my thoughts and coming to terms with what is making me feel that way. If there's something outside my control that's getting me down I tend to try and accept I cannot change it and usually realise it isn't worth feeling so bad about it. If I can control it then I'll start making changes. I usually do this while walking my dog or hitting through a basket of balls at the driving range. I suppose it is meditative in a sense. I try to not change my schedule…

The majority of PUAs with blogs and stuff seem to be very successful at going out and getting laid. Why should someone looking for a relationship listen to them? These are people who don't have long term relationships with women. What makes their advice universal? (this isn't a question I personally have, but I think it is a good one that can lead to interesting discussion points)

You say you are talking to these girls but are you dating them? The way you deal with teases is by getting them on a date, being honest with your intentions and having a good time. If they start flaking on you then whatever, move on to another until you find someone who is worth being with.

Yup, the biggest step people who ask these question need to take is learning to deal with rejection and pain.

I typically try to have a second date planned/half planned by the end of the first date. This saves me faffing around with texting and stuff between the two dates apart from confirming plans or maybe sending something amusing/interesting that has happened between the dates. If I were you I would send a text letting her know you had a good time with her and would like to see her again. Then suggest a time and place to meet up in the same text. I personally avoid getting into drawn out conversatio…

Clubs and organisations. I play a few sports socially like tennis, squash, badminton and field hockey so meet people doing that. I've gone to things like dance classes and yoga before where I've met some great people too. Keeping up with friends in general as they extend their own social groups has led to opportunities too. I've also had flings with colleagues which isn't a massive problem as long you are mature about it.

Women don't know who he is though. And he was good with women when he was just a gamer. I'll concede however that he's always been charismatic despite being a pretty huge gaming nerd which is an attractive trait anyway.

One of my best friends is a very well known shout caster and has loads of success with women. Maybe he has skewed my perception of gamers though.

What point are you trying you make here? Sure some men have been taught about treating women certain ways which are deemed respectful etc which has led to them to hide their true intentions in fear of disrespecting women. It's not about setting moral standards it's about telling men that the most respectful way to treat a woman is to be honest about your intentions and as Mark Manson says, make yourself vulnerable. Which coincidently is attractive. Choosing to be vulnerable with a woman is not p…

The argument is that this isn't a game that needs to be understood. The bad experiences create the mind set in unsuccessful people that they have made the wrong move at a certain time, they become more invested in the processes and results and as a result are needy and need validation they are making the correct moves in the game. Nice guys are seen as manipulative because they assume because they have made the right moves such as being emotionally available to a woman or being a good friend (de…

You mean what I do on the date in general? Usually I just keep conversation going, I like busy places for dates since you can do a bit of people watching and quite easily generate humour from it. Conversation topics vary by what comes to mind in the moment and what she leads herself, things like ambitions, aspirations, musical/artistic interests are all good. It's important to be comfortable in silence as well, if a topic has been used up you can use silence to coax her into initiating the next …

I've had compliments for the sandal wood smell I get from beard oil. I don't wear it to condition my beard anymore (it's pointless imo) just for the smell. I try to find body sprays that compliment it too.

I did the same this week. We were parting ways after coffee and going for the kiss just didn't seem appropriate. We had a brief hug and said good bye. In my eyes the first date exists to set up the second date, anything more than that is simply a bonus. I'll be seeing her again this weekend and if I don't kiss her I'd kick myself for being a moron.

Has anyone else found that the biggest issue with online dating is the quality of women there? Maybe I live in a bad area but I've found I need to drastically lower my expectations and standards for pretty much any woman around my age (23) with online dating.

I think my main issue with online dating is simply demographics. Being a 22 year old male living in the UK fairly far from any university cities means there are very few <25s, fewer who are single and even fewer who use online dating. And anyone >25 isn't going to want to date someone my age.
