Wait, you’re starting couples therapy and she is already with another man? She basically got a have her fun, sex with another man, and then gets decide she now wants you back. Don’t let her have her cake and eat it too.

Bought weights and a treadmill, been lifting and doing cardio on average 3 times a week in the garage. 8 months later I still hate every moment of it. I’ve made slow but steady progress from being at the top end of my recommended weight to losing 10 lbs and gaining some muscle. I fully admit I am not doing this for myself but rather to attract women. I can’t say “hitting the gym” works for most people. During my separation, before the official divorce, I was very happy spending time playing vide…

I gave mine to my father since it is nicer than his. That was a few months ago and haven’t thought about it till now.

I always had my suspicions that she was a pwbpd. I had multiple family members mention it. She refuses to take anti depression meds even though she herself admitted having the symptoms. The 1 time she did she went around badmouthing me. Things like “I feel muted but this is what HE wants”. Matter of fact, her own family including her felt her aunt was BPD as she did some crazy ish. Ironically she would alway tell me she never wanted to be like her aunt, lone behold, she has the reputation among …

Agreed. I am a much different person than I was at 17. I don’t plan on sex until after marriage and being in my mid 30s I’m more selective with who I would engage into a relationship. Limbo is exactly as I described that time whenever I spoke to anyone about my situation. I took that time to simply have fun doing things I liked, playing video games, and discovering new things, riding off road vehicles, working on cars, hiking. Immediately after I filed for divorce I began working out, upgrading …

An insightful comment! I believe I am mostly over her, other than the sexual needs. When I found out the infidelity, I knew it would hurt at the moment but I was able to get over it within 2 months or so. Maybe because I knew it was inevitable, similar to losing a family member has a terminal illness and will eventually pass away compared to someone suddenly dying. It hurt(s) but I was already braced for it for a long time. I think my only “tell” that I may not be over her is simply the fact tha…

Sounds like my ex wife course of actions, ironically enough she still walks around with a chip on her shoulder. That women constantly said I had a pride issue, while the whole time she was simply projecting

Ironically, my ex's family was a big support as they knew she was an unreasonable & violent alcoholic even though she had convinced a lot of people within our friend group that I was the problem. A lot of people have a hard time believing men can be abused. I left because I couldn't take being under the same roof as her as she would constantly be drunk & physically assault me at times. Due to the religious conviction that divorce is only being acceptable if adultery was involved, I held on to th…

She kept me broke from the day I met her at 17 to earlier this year when I divorced her at 35 so there was nothing to take! I believe it came out to about $500 for the lawyer, $250 for filing fees, and another $350 is private eye & sheriff fees trying to serve her.

Thanks for this! I’m 35 and feel at my age most women already have a kid or if they are in the market, something is wrong with them.

I’m glad to have read this. I just turned 35 and finalized my divorce this month after a 2 1/2 year long drawn out separation. People keep saying I’m young, have no kids and I’ll be fine but I just don’t feel that way. I do look young and have a “young spirit” or so I’ve been told. I guess not having a kid l really does age you. The thing is that my ex wife is extremely beautiful and I don’t think I’ll ever get someone as pretty as her again. In the past when we were dating we would split up and…

When I finally had enough I made a plan, wrote it down in a cloud service, told my family about it so I could move in with them. One Sunday morning (before she started drinking) I told her I was leaving, grabbed all my stuff and walked out the door. Due to certain expectations within my faith I was still responsible for her well being and so I ended up paying for her rent and some bills for 2 1/2 years. After I found out about her affair, I immediately filed for divorce at the beginning of May a…

As tempting and morbid as it is to want to find out more about how everything went down, for your own peace of mind do not do it. Resist the urge, because if you give in it’ll be opening a very painful can of worms that will linger weeks, months, or even years long living in your head causing pain. I learned this lesson from my 17 year old self.

35 here and divorce was finalized last week. I am enjoying life so much more after leaving her but the thought of dating again has got me stressed out. We were high school sweethearts, married about 7 years ago but I separated from her about 2 1/2 years ago when I was tired of her being a violent alcoholic. I wish that would have happened before we got married.

Oof. 😵 That’s a real gut punch. I found out about my wife’s affair almost 3 months ago, even though we have been separated for 2 1/2 years but it still made me sick to my stomach for a few weeks. To this day, as I type this, it still churns my stomach. I truly feel for you, brother. Hang in there, it will pass, the reality is that it is going to hurt and appear at the most random of times for months and probably years to come, but less and less frequent. I just finalized my divorce and will be h…

I filed on my wife. Be careful what you wish for. In my eyes, if the husband files, and the wife is hot, which mine is, then there is something seriously wrong with her. Men put up with a lot for physical beauty. She is an alcoholic and physically abused me and couldn’t hold down a job. She was never happy, ruined all her relationships, including her own family who just congratulated me on the divorce and call her an ungrateful idiot. I filed about 2 1/2 years after separation when I left the ho…

I lived in an apartment the whole time I lived with the wife. I paid 90% of the bills the entire time we were together, 17 years or so. Any money I spent was double. 2x food, phones, computers, vacation, etc. Now all my $ is mine. Living with parents while saving up for a house when prices drop.

I recently started working out. Dropped 8 pounds in about 2 weeks, aiming for another 10 by the end of this month, which is my target weight. I own my favorite vehicle and am about to buy a 2nd so I can have a daily driver/beater. Have been staying with family who are more than happy to have me live with them as I do a lot around the house and they don’t ask for any $ because they know my situation. Though, I do still contribute financially. Great group of friend and have recently starting reach…

Was with her for 17 years and married for 7. Tbh, she was never truly nice. Always filled with an attitude and easily irritable. She got away with a lot because she is hot. It is what is. Sucks to know someone else is in bed with her but then I remind myself horrible of a person she is and how unhappy and at times scared of her I was. Glad for it to be over. Though, in my mid 30s I’m a little worried about finding who isn’t emotionally damaged and just as hot.

Mine was. She became a raging alcoholic. Everyone told her to stop drinking. She refused. Divorcing years later after she got caught cheating. It was bound to happen.

I’ve been separated (I initiated due to her physical abuse and alcohol addiction) for over 2 years but just filed for divorce last week as I just learned about her affair last week, that had been occurring during the last 3 months or so. It felt like a family members death that I knew was coming, so I wasn’t completely devastated or surprised, but it hurts nonetheless. New feelings of her physically being in bed with someone else and me not being able to find someone as physically attractive as …

Thank you for this! It has helped me have a positive attitude today. You can check my profile history but I also just filed for divorce after finding out about my wife’s affair. It’s been about a week and a half and I’m still going thru it, but your positive attitude has helped me get through today with a positive attitude!

Brian Sanderson is good if you like high fantasy & sci-fi. Admittedly I haven’t read a book in its entirety since grade school. Im in my 30s I made a deal where I had to read one book, which was the first part of the Mistborn trilogy. Not bad.

I am hoping this happens sooner than later for me. But I can’t imagine not thinking of my stbxw as we were together for 17 years, since high school. Not looking for judgement or questioning, but just some actual advice. Tbh, my stbxw is literally the most beautiful women in the world to me and generally considered an “9” by everyone I’ve candidly asked in the recent days. She has always turned heads, maybe even more so now in our mid 30s. I separated from here over 2 years ago due to her alcohol…

TLDR: I understand how you feel, I’m been thru and am going thru the ringer as we speak. I’m here looking for consolation as well. Stumbled on your post and I get it. I don’t have kids or any assets so my stbxw really won’t get anything but I am torn up emotionally and mentally, feel liking puking right now and keep waking up night with horrible dreams and horrible images that continue even after I wake up. I separated form her 2 1/2 years ago because she was a verbally/mentally/physically abusi…
