Maybe. I was really put off by how he treated his ex gf.. she was really sweet and genuine from what I’ve seen. He is currently stringing her along, but I’ll never know the true nature of their relationship and why they broke up.

Oh okay I see. Were you able to change the dynamic with the guys who caught feelings for you? Or was it irreversible. I really like him and see him as family, so it’s a shame - I didn’t know that I was influencing that. I’m not a Tom boy so naturally I treated him like a girl. I’m guessing that guys don’t really do 1 on 1 dinner dates etc. I still get along with men such as colleagues but we aren’t friends or best friends. I’ve learnt a lot from this friendship though

I meant that I treated him no different than my female friends , gave him the same access. So I go to restaurants with female friends, even one on one. We go to each other’s houses, our rooms etc. Given that we are both straights girls, there isn’t any issues with having this much access to one another. I didn’t make a distinction between him and the girls. Yes I did start to compare the comments that he made to my other friends and male family members, that’s when it clicked.

Im not romantically or physically attracted to him at all. Yes, I can try convince myself to be attracted to him but that would be me miserable. It’s always been a bad outcome whenever I dismissed my feelings. Our friendship is based on venting and killing time. We aren’t the same. The traits that he dislikes about his ex, I have them (e.g. she prefers urban life, luxury living, outgoing etc). He doesn’t even like my career. Therefore, it would be uncomfortable for both of us to be in a relation…

You are right, I have a blind spot when it comes to flirting because I don’t understand men very well. I did treat him the same as my female friends, there were no differences. So that was an issue from my end as well

Yea, I’d like to rephrase friends who aren’t attracted to your gender. The rose tinted glass phenomenon is true. I don’t think I would’ve held on for this long if I had just met him.

I did ignore the sign and brushed it off and gave excuses for them. He has a very joking personality so I would excuse it on that. Yes female friendship are a lot less taxing, we can be close without worrying about these things

No we texted since last week. My schedule was quite tight so he had to ask for availability the week before that. He just texted “thanks for spending time with me”

We’ve been “dating” since summer and he started bringing up commitment in fall. Ever since that convo, he completely stopped posting on social media and only follows me (that’s noteworthy in our circle lol) He clarified that he wants to grow closer and get to know each other for a year or two, then get married. He brought up commitment multiple times, it was a serious conversation that lasted around 3-4 hours

But he can’t always be the one to initiate everything, otherwise it’ll give an impression that I’m not passionate about us. So I want To know how to approach him

I’m not big on texting either, it was worse when we were getting to know each other. In my logic (and his too) text is the worst way to get to know someone. We were in separate countries until the summer came, hey check on me every week or two to ask about my whereabouts. I wasn’t happy with how often I got to see him, because of distance, so I appreciate that he visited me. I’d say that he officially waited since fall or summer. I want to have regular check ins but not comfortable with a full b…

We’ve been speaking for a year, met in summer and agreed to a relationship in fall. So it’s been a while, we always have a good time together and it was entirely platonic until he told showed signs of attraction

He always told me to not be a stranger and to call whenever..but I was going through a lot the past few months and wasn’t even in the same city as him. He also flew to visit me during the holidays. He usually leads the conversation towards something very deep and we took the time to get to know our values etc (spoke for a year, met in summer, agreed to a relationship in fall, got intimate a week ago). he made it clear that he’s dating for marriage and wants to spend time to get to know me. You assumed correctly. I definitely experienced loneliness with studying at home, making food for myself, doing dishes etc. I’d sometimes ask friends to come over and eat, for the company. The food he orders sounds healthy, he looks very fit to me and has an active lifestyle. His home, especially kitchen (duh) , is pristine and he did say that he’s a neat freak. Despite the busy schedule he always makes time for me and does everything to help me. That’s why I’m trying to find out how I can subtl…

He did reply to me and asked for my schedule.. I called him instead of texting back and told him that I’m free this weekend, and he told me that he wants to give me time to settle in. He sounded normal but always has a tendency to say that he doesn’t want to interrupt my productivity, so he triple checks. We don’t have a set date but at least he knows that I’m free to see him

Thank you for the advice. I definitely need to work on my communication skills, he can’t always be the first one to call:text. The anxiety stemmed from being away from home for the first time. I’m not used to this lifestyle. I was meant to see him on a Thursday, then he told me that he flew out for a couple days and that we should meet on Monday instead. I was trying to hang on until then but left on that Saturday. I’m doing better now and I agree that we do have a lot to discuss.

I just got scared because he replied “really”, and last time he showed more excitement but I don’t blame him because I left. Definitely don’t want him to feel like he’s chasing me, so I’ll make an effort to take initiatives too. He’s away but is flying back in today and is asking for my schedule (text). I’ll give him a call later today or tomorrow to tell him when I’m free.

Thank you, this is definitely a wake up call. Our texts have never been good but we’re looser in person. I know that he told me several times to call him whenever. I’ll explain to him that I was scared to call him since he has a busy schedule, not because I didn’t care. I always pick up when he calls. I’ve always been an over thinker so yes anxiety could be the cause. Analysis paralysis makes me silent. When I’m not interested in a guy, my fear of rejection is out the window and I do and say wha…

This wouldn’t be seen as chasing him, right?

Thanks for the valuable advice. I really missed out on time spent together by leaving. We only physically saw each other about 4 times, it would’ve been more if I stayed. We’re still getting to know each other so I wasn’t comfortable enough to tell him about my anxiety attack those aren’t part of my nature. So should I double text him or wait it out?
/r/RedPillWomen16/02/22 02:02 AM

He didn’t ask me why I left, so I didn’t bother saying why. I never an anxiety attack and didn’t know how to handle it, needed to be around family. I don’t know anyone in city in which he lives. I certainly have no intentions of flying out this time, and have a better support system at reach. I’m just scared that he completely lost trust/interest

It sounds like he’s solution oriented, which is perfect for people who worry a lot. I understand the frustration sometimes, because it may come off as them invalidating your worries. The opposite isn’t ideal at all.. some men will never suggest solutions, which leaves us to figure everything out on our own.

No need to apologize! And you’re right, I never moved out the house nor had any responsibilities growing up- so I guess this is my reaction to the lifestyle change. I would’ve never thought of that response off the bat, the nerves don’t help either. I’m just so frustrated because I thought that the fact that I accepted him to come over and sleep together was enough. I would’ve never slept in the same bed as a guy I want to stay friends with !

I’ll do that more next time. I only look straight in his eyes and hope that he’s going to read my mind lol. You’re right about bringing up negativity, we should just move forward. We spoke about it several times. Last night during the rant 10pm-3am he spoke about marriage too and if I’m open to it. We compared our ideologies of it, what timeline fits us best. We live very abnormal lives, therefore it’s rare to find that compatibility. Since we don’t kiss/have sex, we speak for hours on end. We just met, so there’s a lot to unfold. We don’t reveal too much personal stuff (at least, I don’t) but we analyse a lot of subjects and he likes to rant to me about work/friendships/…

Thanks for replying..you’re right. I don’t really have queues when it comes to expressing interest :( I’ll be more touchy next time. Strocking his hair etc.. I think I lived in a very anti-sex environment that it feels weird to initiate it. I’m sure he wants to see me again, because he mentioned us meeting when he left. For now, should I refrain from sharing that concern? I’m scared that I’ll sound ungrateful, complaining about no sex when you flew all the way and took me out to a great date. I …

It seems like he strategically plans his melt downs when you’re about to leave for work, in hopes that you won’t show up. Putting you through hell before sleep, so that you’re too tired to go to work. This isn’t love at all and couldn’t be further from respect. It never gets better, please leave. They always test the waters by breaking things and before you know it..he’ll get physical. It can be frustrating to hear external opinions, especially from your mom. Most abusers present themselves as a…

Yes I totally get where you’re coming from! Being an over thinker makes it worse LOL I started doing last year around this time. Reserving special conversations (mom and siblings only) for ranting helped me. Going straight to the point when people ask me questions, they ask more if they don’t if they’re actually interested. You can tell when someone isn’t interested in the topic when they don’t ask you more questions, and they just get quiet.

I’m insecure about that desire honestly. I got told (by YouTubers I was listening to for 2 years straight) that you should never reveal your true intentions - even when asked. I was put in fear that I’ll sound like a hopeless romantic if I mention kids, even if I don’t want them in the next 2-3 years. Viewing our lifestyle right now, I see option B as more reasonable - just not as long as 5 years. I want to build my own separate brand as a “backup” then play the wife/mom role. I love kids and fa…

I’m very bad at initiating things. Conversations, gestures etc. I’ll be working on that. Got brainwashed by this YouTube who endorsed being cold and “not doing wife duties without a ring”. Of course, I’m not going to move in with him and cook and clean lol. But when I do sleep over, I’ll make a meal and he’ll him with anything I see him struggling with. Thanks!

I saw this YouTube video saying that every conversation is like watching a movie. When you watch a movie, you’re not supposed to talk your head off - otherwise you wouldn’t absorb the story line. Even if you may not agree with what they’re saying, or your just too excited to reply, remember that you’re gaining an alternative perspective by simply listening. That’s what I do now. I used do ramble a lot, now I only save that for my mom and siblings (and Reddit lol). People feel much better when th…

Thank you so much for answering. I’ll ask him what a woman can do to fulfill his preferences in a relationship - once I find a good occasion. Noticed that he mentioned the lack of home making skills in this generation, and lack of emotional control. As someone who’s very busy and deals with a lot of hurdles, I’m guessing that he’d want warmth. He praised me for my warmth and communication. I’m assuming that you’re a man. Guessing my gut instinct is right when it comes to the intention behind that question. Showing interest in someone’s future endeavors is a huge sign of genuine interest - not flattering someone by giving false promises like “I’m going to marry you” “you’re so beautiful” (especially so early on). We haven’t even had sex yet, despite sleeping in the same place several times.

My parents already paid for my school. He wants to help me with my short term and long term career goals. The paying for school thing is quite weird though, but a good gesture for someone struggling with paying. You’re right, that’s why I said that he’s different compared to other men I dealt with. Extremely respectful and emotionally intelligent. I feel like I’m reading a book when we talk. He did tell me that I’m young, so it will take a while to decide my career goal. Usually, a successful modeling career goes like this: Modeling for 10-15 years -> creating a company in the same industry, having it pushed by connections/partner . He has a lot of friends and family that are married. I noticed that mos…

I agree with you. I’m already pursuing an MBA, I’m the first one in my family who actually works in this industry - they’re very traditional, and I like that. He told me that parents are “right and wrong” about career in the arts. He specifically asked me what I want to do about my creative skills, not my academic skills which can easily be applied to a traditional job.

I answered this in the comment you replied to. Adding to that, I don’t mind being a housewife and having my own company that I can run from home. I love kids and home making, too. But I also love that working lifestyle and traveling, for now.

I’m already going to school for an mba, and have several homes to my name (from my parents) which I intend to rent. My back up job would be a marketing manager for a company. He told me that I’m well skilled for a traditional job too, but what are my career goals - as in what it is that I really WANT. He’s telling me to take advantage of my youth, so I know that he’s talking about the present.

It’s too bad for her, but what can we do? Surprisingly, I have a larger following than her (200k+) she has 20k with 300 likes at most. It’s not even about that, her character is unacceptable. I can easily go on my page and expose her for pressuring me to literally sleep with this man, but I won’t. Someone’s health and life is something very urgent, so not being available can cost their lives. It was my mistake to accept the job knowing that it wasn’t even a big one, and I had an upcoming date. If I really wanted to do the job, I should’ve cancelled the date in advance to make room for any unexpected occurrences on set.

I was just frustrated. If I didn’t care, I wouldn’t even question it or bother figuring out what to do to pick up after myself

Thanks for replying. My biggest takeaway from this experience is that you end up in shitty situation when driven by fear. I was scared that I was going to dissapoint the casting director but not accepting the shoot. I definitely messed up and won’t let this happen again. I know it won’t because it never happened before, even with someone else. The guy in question is talking to me again ans is asking if I have shoots this week, I said no. He always sends me aesthetic picture of couples at the bea…

You’re right. I should’ve forecasted that not everything is black and white on set. Next time, I’m not going to mix all these plans together.

I appreciate that he addressed me with respect even if he was expressing discontent. That’s very mature, and my ex would’ve reacted in a different way (aggressive). So no, I don’t see what he did wrong. I told him I learn my lesson and won’t do it again. He hasn’t brought it up anymore.

Thanks for replying I mean, he’s entitled to protecting his integrity.. so I don’t see anything wrong with him asking me to respect his time. He’s a busy working man, works more than I do, so him sparing 2hour drive 2x + 1hour waiting time is a huge chunk. It was a lack of organization from my part. I didn’t know about the shoot when I confirmed that him. So it wasn’t a wise choice to accept to do the shoot knowing that I had to see him that same evening.. And it wouldn’t cause any problem if I …

You’re right. If it wasn’t for this sub, I probably would’ve waited for him to reach out instead of saying sorry right away. I appreciate that he reciprocated the way I approached him, but expressing his frustration without degrading me or giving me some sort of intentional silent treatment..I think I’ve only been in one healthy relactionship so this is brand new to me. Thanks though, he reached out about an hour after I posted this and asked if I have any shoots this week - I don’t.

Right.. it happened Friday. I’m the last person who texted, it was just a response to him saying “hope you had a good day” that’s it (told him how it went). I’ll give him a couple more days until I say something. I’m even scared to see him now cuz if there will just be tension, I wouldn’t event want to be there. Have to fly out of town anyways so if I don’t see him I won’t see him in a month, but I’m over it. If it gets resurrected, great. If not, life goes on..

So should I throw out the idea of organizing an entire date for him? And you’re right, I’ve never done this before. It’s not like I left him to party, or hang out with my friends, I had to work..

It’s definitely better because it’s genuine and not conditional to say that I’m not ready.. he’s definitely a good guy tho so I give him the credit. I really appreciate him for treating me with respect

Thanks for the advice. Yes, I don’t want to force that conversation!

I want him too but I’m just controlling my urges. If I decide to wait for weeks or months, I’ll be able to do that. I never had sex in my only two serious relationships, so I don’t know when it’s appropriate to come in place. If it happens too soon it’s going to be distracting but how soon is too soon

You’re completely right about that. It’s easy to say “okay we’re a couple”. Those things are just words to me..that’s why I asked how do you know it’s real. I now think that it’s better to say “I’m not ready yet”, and it’s true.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
