I had an exchange with an "emotional plate" (i.e. future plate) recently. We were texting about politics. I said "Honey,..." followed by an empirically supported smack-down of her views. She responded with a short rant indicating that it was patronizing and demeaning to call her honey. I knew she wasn't too mad because she used emojis indicating that she was mad. I once went to a courthouse over an accident ticket. I had skidded over black ice and was in a pile up. No alcohol or anything like that involved. Greatest education.
