nope but men can build theirs by progressing in their career and developing their personality and social status in a way that women can't

In your experience after surgery did you find it was it easier to attract more relationship-minded men? I only get sex-related attention

beauty may be built but at what cost? thousands of dollars and painful procedures that carry the risk, however small, of leaving you botched?

Following this because I am finding it hard to accept this too.. it seems us women are born with innate value while men can build theirs up, it sucks we can't change the hand we were dealt with.

I'm pretty good at doing natural makeup looks but I feel like that sort of theatre-stage, "beauty-guru", heavy-contour makeup looks better on camera than in real life..?

I already wear makeup but makeup only takes you from a 5 to a 6 maybe

Beautiful women are very rarely bitter or negative, usually unattractive women are the ones who are bitter as they don't get the same privileges and attention from men that their more attractive friends get, but for those Plain Janes being kind spirited and gracious won't lift their smv up anyway and won't help them to compete in the dating market

It's good to always focus on maintaining and growing femininity and nurturing energy, but looks still matter the most: usually men would rather have a bitchy but model-esque 9/10 on their arm than a heart-warming but nothing special 6/10.. don't underestimate how visual men are, as 80% of a woman's value to a man is looks. (Don't believe me? Check AskMen subreddit)

Why do people assume women are dying to get married? I'm only 21 and I'm from a country in Europe where people get married in their late twenties at the earliest.. I'm an atheist so to me marriage is more about long-term partnership and wouldn't get married until I've known a man for at the very least 3 or 4 years. What i found funny was his reasoning 😂😂

nobody forced these married men to get married though..?! which is why i'll never understand why these heterosexual men think marrying a woman is the ultimate burden

May I ask where are you from? I'm Italian and in Italy it's expected of a man to ask a girl out instead of the other way round...

I am pretty young myself (21 years old) but I'm used to being quite plain so it's not like I've been beautiful all my life and then hit the the wall.. I might get downvoted to hell for this but one thing that helped me is to hang out less with beautiful girls (so I don't see the difference in how we're treated as much) 🤷🏻‍♀️ Just have friends of similar attractivness

At the risk of sounding condescending, sorry but I believe you don't have a clue how much of an advantage being conventionally attractive is. Men are very visual, and in my experience men have always been intrested in me for nothing more than sex, usually because these men find me sexually attractive, but to be LTR material you must also be attractive enough to impress their male friends, so the bar is even higher.

I'm so happy to hear you've been feeling more secure in yourself :) Main reason why I feel so insecure may be due to feeling like I'm competing with every woman I meet as I'm still single

It's so hard not to, is it? Especially when we're told that 90% of our value lays in our physical attractiveness.. it makes me feel so replaceable

Who should she be dating instead? Unemployed land whales? Having a job and keeping oneself fit and healthy is the bare minimum of being an attractive and well-functioning adult

Another thing that other people have failed to mention, is that today's beauty standards are much higher now than say, 10 years ago, and with the rise of instagram, botox, fillers and all kinds of facetune and photoshop, the younger generation of men has been bombarded by the media that the average girl is a photoshopped instagram model and that they deserve nothing less than Kylie Jenner post plastic surgery. Men's attraction to women is mainly looks based, and this brainwashing has caused them…

If this is what my "prime dating years" look like and I'm having this much struggle I can't imagine what dating will be like when I'll be thirty ahaha

I am substantilaly less attractive than the average woman and I already figured that certain physical traits don't make me girlfriend material, my question in fact was that usually unattractive women like me are seen as more "fun material" while more conventionally attractive women are automatically seen as "wifey material" so i was surprised why was the man in the story not interested in "upgrading" if he had a younger and more attractive (in his words) woman available?

I have read that book and I thought it generally gave good advice, however I'm confused as she advices at least in the beginning to hold off from doing "wifey" things for men like cooking and sex, so then what have you got left, apart from conversation (which he can get from his male buddies), other than looks? Also in the book she wrote that if a man asks what you're looking for, you should reply "nothing serious" even if your goal is a long term relationship so that you catch him by surprise a…

Really? In my experience calling a woman "hot" just means being sexually attracted to her, while "beautiful" means the whole package.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
