Just over 2k a month for child support and no alimony. My salary is 92k a year

I don’t think about it. I can’t. My ex has her boyfriend living in the house and he has 3 kids. She let slip that he’s trying to get custody from his ex wife. Fucking nuts man.

So my ex was pregnant for 4-6 (possibly 8 weeks) and didn’t tell me she was. I’m not sure exactly when because the date he was born doesn’t line up with when he would have been conceived. Yes I did DNA test him as part of the divorce settlement. I only found out after I told her I wanted to get a divorce. I know it takes 2 to make a baby and yes we had discussed having two kids a while back but it makes me wonder when she planned on telling me. There was zero discussion of hey, my cycle is prime…

This is why I have an issue with not living together before marriage. Dating a person and living together are 2 completely separate things.

I’m sure there are plenty of cougars who could put a high schooler to shame with the amount of drama they can produce.
/r/Divorce_Men29/05/26 02:24 PM

Lack of drama. Older women know what they want and how to get it.

My EX took all of our savings and spent it on a lawyer so there’s that. It was only 7k but still that 7k was hard won.

Glad to hear about the no more drinking, a little bit here and there is ok if you can stop. Some people just can’t stop when they start and that’s ok to know that about yourself. People can recognize when you are being sincere.

Not getting married again unless it’s a no strings attached very rich woman who will let me spend her money. That may be pie in the sky but oh well I guess it means I’m never getting married again.

Out west. Somewhere there are mountains and rocks and stuff like that. I’m a native Floridian and I’ve lived there all my life. I’d like to experience something different. I have a feeling I’m going to be stuck in FL though.

If I was going through that it would be real fucking hard to want to keep living. That being said, you invested that time and love in the hope of raising a good kid and by god did it sounds like you did. “He knows who I am” - that line says it all brother. I see my boys every other weekend and I wish I could do more but I can’t right now. My 2.5 yr old calls me daddy so it helps.
/r/Divorce_Men21/02/26 11:23 PM

Nope. Exact opposite actually. I mean deep down sure I’d love to have somebody for some physical connection but the juice ain’t worth the squeeze.

Assets? LOL , judge stuck me with most of the credit card debt, still waiting on the house to be sold to get my equity paid out. The only asset I have is my paid off car.

Yeah, it’s 1600 ish plus extra for before and after school care for the little one, once that’s over it will drop. Still alot considering I pay for their health insurance as well.

I feel your pain. I have 2 sons, 2 and 6. The 2 year old was born after we separated so all he’s ever known is seeing me every other weekend. I wish he knew different. My 6 yr old is autistic and seems to be handling things well. I feel everyday like I failed as a father but I know I’m a better person because I left and I can be a better father so it’s ok.

I don’t have many words for what I’m feeling reading this but I feel like you need to make sure he knows it’s not his fault, even if you think there is no way possible he thinks that just let him know. Don’t blame her, you don’t want animosity from him to her. Tell him when he is older and can understand the decision you had to make.

I know nobody in the town I live in. I moved there with my ex about 9 years ago. Worked for 2 years at a place then took a job which required traveling. So yeah, I’m a ghost lol. Shave with a regular Gillette razor but don’t use too much shave gel, conditioner works well. Helps if it’s a fresh razor refill.

I pay 2k a month for child support for 2 kids, almost 2 and almost 6. Ex is dragging her feet on selling/refinancing the house which is no bueno for me because I need that money to pay off credit card and some medical debt.

White culture worship? You like what you like, if that happens to be a white girl I don’t see a problem with that. You may need to book a good therapist if you think your problems boil down to “white culture currently dominating”.

The question really boils down to how she totaled the suv in a drive through……… Do you suspect she was in some way inebriated? If it happened due to sheer stupidity that’s gonna be a hard argument.

I’ve struggled on and off with drinking to help myself get to sleep, I could finish off a 750 of vodka in a weekend at one point. I’ve found weed gummies accomplish the same thing without the effects of alcohol. Not really good replacing one vice with another but I’ve basically stopped drinking so I’ll take the “win”. For me it’s an evening only thing, after work so I can just chill. I’m relatively new to weed but the memes about getting the munchies are 100% true lol. Every little bit counts. E…

I had a similar thing happen. Ex didn’t want to care for our Husky mix with another kid on the way and none of my family could take him so he ended up with one of her friends that had a couple young kids and some land out in the country. He was happy with them and kids loved him so it was better than the alternative. Then I get a call from her saying he got out and was missing. Ended up he got accidentally ran over by a neighbor. He’s buried on their property with a marker. Maybe someday I’ll ha…

He who is without sin cast the first stone……. So I found out my ex was pregnant with our second boy the day after I told her I wanted a divorce, I flipped the F out. Almost broke my hand bashing stuff. No idea how long she was going to wait to tell me as she was at least 4-6 weeks pregnant at that point but oh well. We had previously talked about having another child and weren’t actively trying but she was off BC and now that I look back she was trying to get pregnant. Our first son is autistic,…

I didn’t but my ex did. She rear ended somebody with her CX-5 (her 5th accident, 3rd with that car) and totaled it. Also got sued by the guy she hit, could have been messy but he got an ambulance chasing lawyer and progressive made it go away. She took the payout (both our names were on the car) and got herself a Honda Accord. If you can keep using your dad’s car I would. I’d ask your lawyer about the money though just to make sure it’s all yours.

That word has been around for a long time. People are waking up to behaviors that are narcissistic and realizing it is a lot more common. Would my EX be considered a full blown narcissist? Probably not but she definitely has tendencies towards it. I think most people do but they control the urges and deal with it.

Well, it’s not easy. My ex’s Dad died from a massive heart attack right in front of her Mom. I was completely excluded from anything involving his funeral and memorial service.

Is it really though? I initiated my divorce because my wife was a lazy narcissist (my unscientific diagnosis) and just didn’t care about me. She took advantage of my money and what I could do around the house and didn’t really input any effort into being married. Yes. My 4.5 yr old son is basically non verbal, he is starting to do some words/#’s and small phrases but mostly repeating what he hears from the shows he loves or school. I’m a unique situation as I travel during the week for my job and that’s all he’s ever known. So in his world not much has changed at all. He’s progressing very well at school though.

Hopefully your names aren’t on each title…. You hold the key to your own prison. If you think you’ll never find anybody because of your height, that’s exactly what will happen. Walk like you are ten feet tall and not a soul will care that you are 5’6 and anybody who does care, get them out of your life.

I think of my ex FIL, he wasn’t particularly happy in his marriage but being older back then you just stuck it out. He died in march of a massive heart attack at 59. He was at home on a Saturday morning with his wife and started not feeling good, went into the bedroom to get some Tylenol and just fell over. Hit his head on the way down so now’s there’s blood everywhere and he dies right in front of her. Really hard on everybody. What’s even crazier is my ex was going to head over to her mom’s to…

Unfortunately, I know how to be alone too well. I travel for my job and have for the past 5 years. Some times I’m with friends on a project, most of the time not. I would look at an instapot , they can make a lot of different stuff and you can even get an air fryer attachment. Start watching cooking shows or YouTube to get an idea of the mechanics of cooking. Great tasting food doesn’t have to be hard to make.

Dude, are you me? My ex wouldn’t do dishes so there’s that, they would sit in the sink (sometimes up to 2 weeks) till I did as much as I could bear. She would sit on her phone on FB and whatever else for 8-10 hours a day….. I could go on and on.

If your name is the only one of the mortgage then wouldn’t she have to buy the house from you? She can’t buy out your equity if she’s not on the mortgage…… Sounds like this needs to go to a lawyer. The only thing I’ve cried about was the dog. I say the dog but he was really bonded to me. We have a 4 year old and she got pregnant (DNA tested mine) and didn’t tell me right away and I found out after I told her I didn’t want anymore kids and it wasn’t working out. She then said well I’m not taking care of the dog and another kid so she shipped the dog off to a friend of hers. Could be worse, she could have dropped him off at a shelter.

My dog is still alive but not in my life sadly. Ex got pregnant and I found out the day after I asked for a divorce. She didn’t want to have to deal with the dog and a 4 year old and a newborn so she found one of her friends to take him. At least he didn’t go to a shelter or something like that.

Those are some serious allegations. I would not be in her company without recording it. I would also not be alone with your children until you sort out things with a lawyer. Unfortunately people who have never had to make such a tough decision can’t really understand. I’m lucky, my parents have offered support and guidance, I’m sorry yours don’t seem to be.

Don’t get her pregnant again, that’s for damn sure.

Is his daughter old enough to be left home alone? Sounds like it is time for anonymous call to CPS for a wellness check on that child.

This is insane! Why in the sake of anything that is holy would you tell anybody that RANDOMLY contacted you that yes, you did take nude videos, but alas you didn’t have them but you’d have too have a deep look(whatever the hell that means). You walked yourself right into whatever happens.

This applies if, as the man, you initiated. I’m going through this now.

Maybe it’s the difference between what you actually have money wise like cash in hand and what your stock options or whatever is worth if sold.

People tend to view their own actions through rose colored glasses. For example, as unthreatening as constant text messaging may actually be it is harassment, if you are messaging somebody multiple times every hour all day long, that could be viewed as merit for some kind of protective order.

I would record every interaction you have with her, whether on video or audio if possible. Sounds like she may accuse you of something and you need evidence to prove your innocence.

It is okay to feel regret and sadness, you wouldn’t be human if you didn’t. This may be a hard question but did she file the protective order completely out of the blue or is there some merit to it? If you have done nothing to warrant it then you have made the right choice. I was faced with a similar choice recently and I chose myself. I couldn’t see myself being in a one sided marriage for the rest of my life and dealing with a lazy narcissist so I made up my mind that I had taken enough.

I would love to get that validation but I don’t think I ever will from an extremely selectively lazy narcissist.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
