If you have to ask... you already know the answer, mate. She has an old "best Friend" who's a guy who she used to sleep with. She says I don't have anything to worry about. Isn't it always the ones you're told you don't have to worry about?

What is the acceptance rate of said college? (If it's Tisch SoA, it's around 10%, if it's University of Michigan, it's around 15%) What are the realistic chances of her actually being accepted to a top tier fine arts school? Is she exceptionally talented? Does she spend all her summers at arts intensives - Interlochen Arts camp, Tanglewood, etc - that will increase her chances of getting accepted over others? Even at lesser schools, she will still have to audition for a spot in her major. Even i…

We have been together for a year She often has a self-centered attitude, argues to win rather than to solve problems, and puts herself first. None of these are deal-breakers on their own Why aren't they dealbreakers? People who are self-centered and argumentative are generally not qualities that most people are looking for in a long term relationship. Don't ignore the red flags. You haven't been together all that long, and you've got some things going on that you shouldn't overlook.

She claims I’m an alcoholic, depressed, bipolar, anxious and add. She’s claimed I’m on the autism spectrum, that I need to be in psychiatric intake treatment, & I’m suicidal. She’s made ultimatums like “take the landmark program or leave”, “check yourself into a psych ward or leave”. Be aware that you're going to need a top tier attorney to deal with this level of conflict. This isn't really normal behavior. It sounds like she's been "building a case" about you for some time now.

on anti depressants. I just want to die to get this misery over with Please call your doctor. Some ADs cause, or worsen, suicidal ideation. You may need to switch meds or change dosages.

If you didn’t withdraw when she wanted to reconcile, just continue on then. BPD is very difficult to live with and menopause often exacerbates it. This might be the best time to move on.

she recently filed for a divorce non-contested. A week after she filed she wanted to reconcile. Did she have an affair that ended when she left you? All of a sudden, she is kissing on me all the time and acting like we didnt have underlying issues. Is she initiating sex a lot more? The cynical side of me wonders if she is hoping an Oopsie baby will seal your reconciliation, or if she thinks she's may be pregnant by someone else and is hoping to conceal that with a quick reconciliation. Due t…

I'd end it. Why do you believe you can't do better than this person, or even just as good as this person? It's a big world out there and there are lots of great people. Why does this person even want to be married to someone they have to issue an ultimatum to? That's not enthusiastic consent for marriage at all.

It happens quite often, usually after the person they left the marriage for has dumped them.

If we got divorced would she be able to move away with kids (she’d of course get custody because of biased courts) closer to her mother. No. 1, you should absolutely petition for shared custody. 2, most custody agreements have restrictions in place as to how far a parent with shared custody can move away. Odds are good she will be directed to procure gainful employment for herself during the divorce process. In NY state, permanent alimony is generally only considered for marriages longer than 20…

I see, but it should specify that for more clarity. Anyway, good luck combing through all of this with a lawyer.

Why isn't it worded as "expenses for the children's religious education"? Why is it worded as "partner's expenses"? It's really vague wording and wide open to interpretation. and, yes, I meant alimony in asking about spousal support.

See a lawyer and review the mediation agreement with them to determine if, and how, it can be altered. They can also request an audit of expenses from your ex. Things like school lunch and school supplies are generally already covered by child support and not an additional expense. partners in faith expenses, What does this cover? Items your spouse is purchasing for themselves is not your responsibility. Are you paying spousal support as well? If she is co-habitating with a romantic partner, w…

In some states, non payment of spousal support is a felony charge.

Contact your lawyer ASAP about harassment by your stbxw. This crosses a line and her behavior may escalate as the divorce proceedings continue. Your lawyer telling her / her lawyer to cease and desist with the harassment or face the legal (and maybe criminal?) consequences of divorce harassment (look that up) may be what she needs. You can also inform your boss that you are experiencing harassment from your stbwx .

I feel like she's taken my daughter hostage and I must either lose myself (continue marriage) and/or lose my daughter (divorce). In both cases I am losing my immediate family, she doesn't allow our daughter to see her grandparents because she holds a grudge against my mom. I need help. Talk to your lawyer NOW about how to protect yourself and your child. Her desire for a passport and insisting on fully physical and legal custody are major concerns and her behavior is escalating. In your other po…

Request permission from the court to have her served by other means: drop service , substitute service, or public notice in the newspaper, etc.

It would still be good for you to petition for shared custody, in the event that your employment changes at some point in the future. You don't specify your province, but she would need your authorization to move to another province with your child or get a court order to allow it.

You're welcome. In the future, never ,ever, ever, allow yourself to roped into a discussion with your ex's new guy about their relationship troubles. You're not his friend.

She got with someone within a couple months after the separation. He was living in the house i paid for, around 3 months after we separated. then her new guy leaves her. If he hadn't dumped her, she wouldn't be missing you. Move forward in life, not backward.

Isolating a partner from family and friends is classic textbook abuser behavior.

You need to find an attorney who has a lot of experience with high conflict personalities and acrimonious divorces. Follow their advice. Safely get yourself a copy of "Splitting: Protecting Yourself While Divorcing Someone with Borderline or Narcissistic Personality Disorder" by Bill Eddy. Ignore the diagnoses part of the title if you don't care for it. He is a therapist and attorney who has a lot of experience with high conflict personality individuals. https://www.amazon.com/Splitting-Protec…

Those ARE the people who have experience with High Conflict Personalities. Plus, the really good ones will be experts at getting your stbx to think what you want is actually all their idea and a benefit to them.

Get yourself a copy of "Splitting: Protecting Yourself While Divorcing Someone with Borderline or Narcissistic Personality Disorder" by Bill Eddy and Randi Kreger and be sure it's not found. Find an attorney who has experience with High Conflict Personalities. Stop Walking on Eggshells: Taking Your Life Back When Someone You Care About Has Borderline Personality Disorder by Randi Kreger and Paul T. Mason would also be a good book for you.

I'm wondering if it's smart to even go home at this point , I don't want to be accused of abandonment though and at this point I'm stuck between the two choices. What does your attorney advise you to do?

Most times she calls me all sort of degrading names when I choose not to respond to her rants. She was already abusive. Now her abuse has escalated to physical, which is textbook pattern for abusers. So is her apologizing and begging. but I really feel i should end things now. It's perfectly valid to not want to give an abuser more chances. Couples counseling really isn't going to be enough therapy for her to get a handle on her abusive behaviors. See an attorney who has experience with domestic…
