So here’s my situation, I got divorced a few years ago, my ex and I went through divorce mediation and at the time when we went through the agreement I was very emotionally affected by it all and you could say sidetracked with the well-being of my children. At the time I didn’t seek advice from an another attorney. I pay my ex wife child support each month and I’m not disputing that at all. What I am now disputing is the fact that in the agreement it states that both parents agree to cover additional costs, here’s an excerpt from the agreement…..

“The parents shall agree on a budget each year and reach a mutual agreement first as to what is covered in said budget, and the parents shall fund such budget 50% by the Mother and 50% by the Father. The parties agree to equally divide the expenses and costs associated with mutually agreed upon, in advance and in writing, extracurricular activities for the minor children, school trips, sporting events and gear, cultural and enrichment activities, school lunches, school fees, PTO activities, books, AP classes, SAT or SSAT prep classes, passports, driving classes, cell phones, technology and the children's car insurance, gifts to children and gifts to friends, clothing and outerwear, haircuts, partners in faith expenses, entertainment, or other expenses as mutually agreed. Said agreement shall not be unreasonably withheld and shall take into account the children's needs and desires, however, most importantly and the parent's finances. The parents expressly agree to communicate and reach a mutual decision first prior to enrolling the children for such an activity.”

I moved out the family home and she now has someone else living with her and affectively has three incomes.

I feel like I’m unnecessarily being squeezed for every cent.

I would really welcome your advice on this one. Thank you.
