Do people not date based on their romantic feelings?I didn’t mean to put a value judgement on ‘transactional’, I agree that every relationship is transactional always and you spend time and energy on things that bring value to your life, but I was wondering how much emotional attachment and affection for a person plays into the equation. I think there used to be at least this facade of romanticism for dating before recently, but now it’s way more explicit and people usually assess others based on what the other person does for them. I feel kind o… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 27/02/24 07:10 AM
Women preferring to stay single because they don't feel attracted to average men says a lot about their unrealistic expectationsWhat sets the criteria for a satisfactory relationship is always influenced by mainstream culture and media, it’s nothing new. There’s no “innate” or “natural” standard for a social relationship, it’s social by definition. I do agree it sucks that women have to choose the men they date by swiping on an app, but that’s a criticism of online dating as a whole. You have no choice but to make decisions based on the information you have. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 26/02/24 05:54 PM
| – | Do you think the average straight woman feels this way about guys?Do you have romantic feelings towards guys? (Or anyone for that matter) if not, you might wanna look into aromanticism. But you can also just have an avoidant attachment style and be indifferent towards romance without needing a different label for it. It’s fine. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 13/02/24 06:33 AM |
Slutshaming is objectively good (?)The more women are shamed for their sexual partners the more picky they’re going to be. Slutshaming and judging women for their partners is only going to make them want to sleep with people with status. If you want women to be more open to dating/sleeping with the average dude you’d want to not make who they sleep with a big deal. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 13/01/24 04:24 AM
The more you understand women, the less you'll fall in love them.Everyone is expected to put society’s needs above their own, but women don’t value sex and dating as much as men do, so they decide to act in self interest and if in the process they lose their relationship, so be it. Men on the other hand prioritise having a partner and having sex while deriving their self worth from it too, so they’re more willing to sacrifice their own sense of self preservation to preserve the relationship. That’s still a decision they make for themselves. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 25/12/23 05:46 AM
Why do men leave their sick wives? It may not be a gendered phenomenon at this point, it might just be a human thing to bail when things don’t seem to work in our self interest. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 20/12/23 06:27 PM
What Percentage of College Girls Are This Superficial? What’s the evidence for women behaving in an uncivilised way? | /r/PurplePillDebate | 15/12/23 06:06 PM
What Percentage of College Girls Are This Superficial? It’s a good point, physical strength is an advantage if that’s something that needs to be highly valued in a society, and in day to day modern society that’s simply not the case. I feel like we consider women to have an unfair advantage over men because we simply value sex too much as a society. If we value relationships more, you’ll discover it’s more on men to control LTRs. I’m not saying one’s better than the other, to each their own, but placing too much emphasis and dependence for a thing t… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 15/12/23 06:04 PM
| – | men only dislike ‘hookup culture’ when they can’t participate in itI agree, if women start caring about their body counts and the “quality” of the guys they’re sleeping with, it only hurts the guys that would have a chance of hooking up with them. I personally think body count is a stupid metric that somewhat dehumanises ex sexual partners. If women start to look for emotional connection and real intimacy in sex, a lot more straight men will be left out of the scene, I don’t know if that’s what anyone wants. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 11/12/23 04:01 AM |
Question for men who want "traditional" gender normsI think there shouldn’t really be a ‘norm’ when it comes to what kind of life path adults want to take for their own self-interest with respect to happiness. Even if women are found to be happier in traditional roles with kids, I don’t believe any of us have the right to impose that on them even if it is good intentioned. Women should have the freedom to make bad decisions too. But I do agree that women shouldn’t be ostracised for wanting to be homemakers and choosing to be SAHMs, it shouldn’t b… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 08/12/23 06:21 PM
