I haven't had much success with therapy either. It helped me with general anxiety disorder, but it never helped me out of depression.

One of the problems with the autism community is that people who are seriously affected by the condition have their voices drowned out by those with low support needs.
/r/MensRights16/05/25 02:20 PM

The movement has become flooded by young teenage girls who self-diagnose as autistic, while those of us with actual support needs keep having to remind them that it's actually a disability and not some quirky personality trait.

I'm an autistic cis male, and personally I wouldn't want to date such a woman either so good riddance.

Everyone has the authority to say whatever the fuck they want. It's called free speech.

Although nothing happens in a vaccuum, I have nothing against people who advocate for women. Now if only they would stay in that lane...

You come here just to insult and belittle, or do you have any actual insight?

Women expect a performance circus and sexual entertainment, while they lie down in the starfish position. If you want to dance like a monkey then go ahead.
/r/MensRights16/05/25 01:54 PM

Easy answer. Write about mens rights anywhere online, and you'll encounter the above.

Wow. Who hurt you?

Jokes on you. I'm into the orgasm denial kink.

Men aren't allowed to be better than women at something apparently. Can't hurt those fragile female egos.
/r/MensRights16/05/25 01:42 PM

Women aren't entitled to an orgasm, just like they aren't entitled to sex. Are you some sort of femcel?
/r/MensRights16/05/25 01:39 PM

I think feminism as an ideology has a point. There are egalitarian principles within it, and observations about human nature that I agree with. Yet followers of that ideology are often very toxic and hateful.
/r/MensRights16/05/25 11:35 AM
16

Come on now.... It's not misogynistic to deny a woman an orgasm.
/r/MensRights16/05/25 11:32 AM

It's not my job as a man to give a woman an orgasm.
/r/MensRights16/05/25 11:31 AM

Focus on yourself. You are valuable. Your feelings and desires are valid. Your sexuality is good and allowed to be as it is. Despite what the feminist machine has told you, it is perfectly ok to be a man.
/r/MensRights16/05/25 11:24 AM

I’m not defending bad behavior. You very clearly are. Stop blaming the victim, and instead urging people to do better. There is a difference between criticizing a whole gender (50% of the population), vs. criticizing an ideology. Feminism is an ideology. People can choose to follow that ideology or not. Propaganda is an attempt to mass-influence a population through manipulation tactics, this post isn't that. It's merely stating the facts. Do you also get upset if I tell you that lions kill gaze…

Understandable. When I worked in the kitchen in a retirement home, it was exclusively women. There was so much toxicity, hate, gossip, and all-around meanness. A constant cesspool of passive agressive behavior and demeaning judgement. All the women conspired with each other to have me do the worst jobs, and when I refused the female boss fired me.

Here is what my post is, because you seem to have missed it: It is a generalization from possibly thousands of encounters with feminists through my past 20 years of activism. It is a collection of observations made from real-world examples, on how feminists and so-called adults actually choose to conduct themselves. The reason this is getting upvotes, is because it is more or less the truth. This is how feminists argue. They rely solely on their agressive talking points from echo chambers, and s…

True. As rational males we need to be conscious of this, or we can't think independently or make rational choices in love and life.

Yeah I am really grateful. Glad to hear you've also found your tribe.

It's like Socrates and the Sophists. Who needs truth, when all that matters is that the majority agrees with you?
/r/MensRights16/05/25 09:53 AM

Meanwhile women are lazy, and expect men to do all the work. They also use sex to manipulate men. I'm done having sex. I'd rather focus on other pleasures than being subservient to a woman.

Most trans guys are also short males, which only makes the bigotry worse. I feel you.

Wikipedia makes it a point to argue that most men in our movement are "white heterosexual males". The underlying idea seems to be that therefore our opinions don't matter, and also we are not tolerant or whatever. I'm pretty sure feminism is primarily made up of white heterosexual females, yet no one seems to make a big deal about that.
/r/MensRights16/05/25 09:29 AM

In my experience a very large part of them do "debate" like that. I've long since stopped engaging rationally with them, because they only want to sling mud.

Yep! They've recently helped me move. One of my gaming friends I've known since I was a little boy scout. Real camaraderie.

I think having a tribe is vastly more important than therapy. In fact I'd argue that society puts way too much importance in therapy. I would rather have a good friend than a good therapist.
/r/MensRights16/05/25 07:22 AM
9

In my country it was very hard finding a male therapist to begin with. The entire field seems to be dominated by perfectionist women who just got out of school. In general I'm very skeptical about therapy. I haven't found any evidence that it's any more helpful than having a heart to heart with a good friend. In many ways therapy has come to replace Christianity within the western world. It's a kind of secular religious confession.
/r/MensRights16/05/25 07:15 AM

Admitting struggle is the first step. Articulating that struggle can be a lot more difficult. And yes, competent cheap therapy can be hard to come by. Sadly.
/r/MensRights16/05/25 05:51 AM

I've had great success with being a soft man. I ask for help. I'm vulnerable. I tell of my struggles to female social workers and nurses. I do it in a calm, collected, and rational manner and I'm just honest about my current struggles. The system is without empathy, but there are people in it who are willing to help.

I think that's just one venue. On the whole, feminity is defined by women, and masculinity is defined by women. They'll simply say whatever they have to say to make us insecure about the masculine rules they have instilled into us.

The more I read, the more I am absolutely astonished by it. It is fucking blowing my mind right now. I can't even find the words. I mean, just read this shit: We have absolutely no idea what the world will be like if men really used their intelligence and imagination instead of wasting it. Inventing pressure cookers that cook faster, wall-to-wall carpeting that is more stain-resistant, detergents that wash whiter, and lipsticks that are more water-resistant is a waste of time. Instead of produci…

It's good so far. It pulls away a curtain you didn't even know was there. It is very very red pill, but it also doesn't do man any favors. It definitely doesn't blame men. It just reads as an honest account of how women truly feel about men. According to her, women see men as useful tools to be discarded once they are no longer useful. Here's an excerpt from the page I'm currently on: Women feel anything but oppressed by men. On the contrary, one of the many depressing truths about the relations…

Sorry to hear that. Glad you're still participating in spite of your poor experience. Personally I would rather be called the R-word than not be allowed to speak at all. I understand the need for safe spaces, but when an ideology has as immense power, it's extremely dangerous when it prohibits criticism. Modern institutionalized academic feminism needs to be held accountable, or it's only one step away from fascism.

I don't think so. Unlike feminists, mens rights activists don't silence opposing opinions. Any grievances would be heard.

So what options do boys have if they want male camaraderie? It seems weird that girls have an exclusive club while boys don't.
/r/MensRights14/05/25 07:17 PM

Yes, but to a lesser degree. Men don't have as strong in-group bias as women have according to research.

This is true of everything related to a relationship to be honest. From the first glance, to initiating conversation, to planning the first date, men carry EVERYTHING, and women are just along for the ride.

The difference is that feminist organizations and institutions are extremely powerful and mainstream. Feminist discourse has a lot more power than the discourse you find around here. Men's rights activists are a minority compared to the feminist agenda.

Mental load is having to keep track of stuff, and constantly needing to have information at the back of your mind. "How many clean socks does my daughter have in kindergarten? Is my son outgrowing his winter jacket, or will it last another season? When do we have enough wool clothes to fill the washer and run it on the wool program? Gotta remember to buy eggs. Rita's birthday is next week, and I need to swing by the shop and buy her a flower on Tuesday " According to feminists women have a lot o…

I think we are a lot less likely to complain in general. We are not a gender that complains about our hardships.
/r/MensRights14/05/25 05:55 PM

I think it's real, but men don't call it mental load, we call it being responsible for something. I was with my girlfriend for 25 years, and in all those years I did the cooking. I don't see that as mental load. I see it as being responsible for cooking.

the reason that they work "less" is that they are staying at home looking for the kids. This is only true of some of them. I know several who collect some sort of government payout while their kids are in an institution. I agree that caring for kids is an important role in society. women do more domestic labour than men For a lot of these studies, tasks that are stereotypically done by men aren't included. It can be really nerve wrenching to call people out when you are in the minority.
/r/MensRights14/05/25 03:35 PM

This is both poignant and true. Try telling a woman that she is partly responsible for her failures. She'll pull the misogyny card so fast.

Then what do you call me? I call you a good person :) Ideally you should be able to discuss in both spaces, but since you've posted here you're likely banned from most feminist leaning subreddits now.

we love women, but can also not like some things they do or say. This is certainly a different take than the TwoX subreddit. The consensus there seems to be that they openly and unapologetically hate men.

Feminists usually don't hold themselves back from arguing against facts, I just haven't seen it on this subreddit.

So many hateful women out there on Reddit that administrators refuse to do anything about. Women on TwoX are literally justifying misandry, and most female dominated subs are violent and actively harass and stalk men. Yet they are allowed to thrive.

Unless women are taught to be critical of their own in-group bias, they can't be trusted to make big decisions. It's extremely worrying that there are so many women in positions of power like in HR departments. They can't be trusted to make fair decisions unless they are taught to be critical of their own preferences.

I asked on r/AskReddit what an example of toxic femininity would be. I got downvoted to hell. Apparently only masculinity can be toxic.
/r/MensRights14/05/25 09:45 AM

Thank you for that. Do people listen to you when you explain it? As a man, I can't criticize feminism without immediately being labeled misogynistic, or they will claim that "You clearly don't understand feminism". I have been arguing against feminsim for 20 years now, but it's always the same. Women will band together and shun whatever I say without listening.

I am reminded of this quote: "If you want to know who rules over you, just look for who you are not allowed to criticize." There are so few places where criticism of women or feminism is even remotely allowed.

Yeah, it's just incredible how they accuse us of being blind to THEIR mental load, but then are completely incapable of acknowledging OUR mental load. I also handle all the finances, budgets, investments, insurance, among other things. I don't give a fuck who you are, making sure we have enough money is by far more stressful than ensuring that little bobby has a raincoat in his kindergarten closet.
/r/MensRights05/08/24 05:29 AM

This. I do the majority of the work in our household, including a lot of the stereotypical women's tasks. But for some reason I'm downvoted when I say this. The mothers on these forums are miserable.
/r/MensRights05/08/24 05:24 AM

Absolutely. They don't consider it routine because they suck at it. It's like imagining the teeth of someone who says tooth brushing isn't routine.
/r/MensRights04/08/24 06:36 PM

Yea I’ve had this argument with feminists arguing about mental load and their response was that Home / vehicle maintenance was not routine so didn’t count. What a terrible take. There is nothing more routine than car maintenance. Are those feminists on drugs or just slow? Ok fine these tasks might not be done every week but a DIY job can easily take a whole day and many take a lot of research and skill. Often you have to Kane different trips to the store when you get the wrong tool or part. And …
