| 2 | Nobody goes into marriage expecting divorce, but it comes frequently, & she really does get the house & the kids. In divorces, men lose. Your child support will be based on what a judge thinks you should earn, so that, if you're a stock broker, you can't decide you'd rather work on a fishing boat.I think Texas sometimes gets a worse wrap than it deserves because it gets lumped in with a lot of the Deep South states and all the redivision shit you see there, gets the "hurr durr rednecks" stamp, and not much else thought is put to it, which is a shame. This makes it all too easy to overlook progressive steps being made in the right direction. No state gets everything right, and being from NY I don't think legalizing gay marriage gives my leverage to criticize in light of all the other stuf… | /r/MensRights | 30/03/15 07:50 PM |

Would you find it unreasonable for someone to ask for a bathroom exclusive to their gender? No. Adding a set of sex exclusive bathrooms is reasonable. But that's not what this is. | 1 | CNN trying to figure out the marriage strike...Tax incentives are fun and all, but I think this article is ignoring elephant in the room: with growing frequency, men view marriage as increasingly high risk, less rewarding, a worse investment, or in any other words a raw deal. This concern is not being addressed (or even acknowledged) in earnest, and until that changes I don't expect to see any noticeable change in this trend. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/15 01:55 PM |

| 3 | Seen in the waiting room at my local GP - a poster from a "Women's Aid" group that advertises their services for male DV victims!I don't know if it's their nature so much as our reaction to mens weakness. I mean, making fun of men for being sick is pervasive enough for the term "man flu" being crafted to mock them. I think a lot of people a just very wary. We've witnessed a awful lot of people toting the "I'm a feminist and I care about men," only to turn around and express hostile views towards men or demand more be done to prioritize the needs of women instead. I have another idea/theory in trying to understand male feminists. There is such an incredible amount of rhetoric and media out there that acts to shame and ridicule men into a position of submissive ideological adherence, a constant pressure mandating the embrace of it, that it would be folly to think that no otherwise reasonable and well intentioned person could be broken by it intensity. | /r/MensRights | 28/01/15 06:40 PM |

| 5 | Barbara Kay: Battered women should not get away with statutory murderYou understand that murder has a 0% possible recovery rate, and that abuse has a higher than 0% recovery rate, and that higher than 0 is the larger of the two. | 7 | Barbara Kay: Battered women should not get away with statutory murderYou leave. Or call the cops. Or go to a shelter. Or do any number of things that isn't killing a person. Instead of creating loopholes to legalize what is literally the worst possible crime a human being can commit, maybe we should encourage people to use the already existing solutions. I cannot believe it is possible for a person to have any respect for human life, and still believe this law is a good idea.
