We don't. We really don't.

How is pointing out the truth childish? So you accuse me of being childish and are now rage quitting? Disagreeing over a subject and discussing it isn't childish. Prematurely gloating at your "opponent" for "losing" an argument over the internet is childish. Anyway, peace.

Can't post a comment here without someone nitpicking something. That's PPD for you. Listen, I love to lift. I'm a "Mr. Swole" myself. But cardio is good for you and it helps your physique. Even if you consider it "boring" and "time-intensive", it's a worthwhile investment for your health.

You've never gotten any validation in your entire life? Do you think an ugly woman has it any better than you?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/16 12:27 PM

Validation is important to men too. I don't understand your argument.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/16 12:11 PM

Because women do engage on hypergamy on a large scale. Sure, in India. That's where the term "hypergamy" was first documented and used. It refers to the act of marrying a person of a superior caste or class. It's not be confused with TRP's interpretation of the term, which basically boils down to women trying to bag a hottie for themselves. In that case, how is that even surprising? Men do that too. Everyone wants an attractive partner. They won't date anyone they see as "below them". They most …

For men it's generally a high sex drive. For women it's a desire to get the best genes. As a man, you don't need to actually see a baby, you just need to know that your sperm is inside the woman. It's a completely different biological drive from a woman and the psychology is different too. Alright, I think it's time I starting asking you for sources and citations. If a woman gets a sperm donation, she can still have a baby growing inside her and give birth to it. She still gets the biological co…

I don't understand how all your talk about social validation and passing on genes relates to the OP, though. You suggested that there is a fear of becoming a genetic dead-end among male "incels", but such concerns aren't as prevalent among female "incels": Even an extremely unattractive woman can usually get sex. If she can't, she can always use a sperm donor to reproduce. But egg donation, just like sperm donation, is an available option. And that doesn't even touch upon people who actively avo…

The desires for sex are biological. But OP is making a point that, in our culture, a man can receive social validation from his peers for being a "stud". Even TRPers agree with that.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/16 09:46 PM
3

What /u/cuittler seems to be proposing is that the validation is social rather than biological. I disagree. I think the validation is primarily biological, and that the reason for that is due to reproduction Could you please quote /u/cuittler saying that "the validation is social rather than biological"? Because I don't see him/her making any "nature vs nurture" arguments. Again, the main point is that male "incels" are projecting their own desires for validation onto their female counterparts. …

There is no toning, except as a combination of the two I assumed that's what most people mean when they say they're "toning". If you're trying to cut fat, it's still beneficial to lift and eat properly. Wouldn't want your muscles to waste away.

I think OP is making a point on how so-called male "incels" are projecting their own desires for validation onto their female counterparts. Less about human evolution.

Could you please clarify what you're saying?

If they were sexual successes (which they would be if they were socially/mentally well adjusted) they wouldn't be on a forum trying to improve their sex lives, and their lives in general. I get that. And I can empathize with that. But I don't understand why it takes an online pseudo-cult (leadership-wise, at least) that accuses women of being "hypergamous" whores to teach them to work out and improve their lives.

If guys put in time at the gym and get their shit together (get your education, get a grown up job, start adulting) they will become more attractive and RP bullshit is not needed to be successful with women. Actually, I was making a reference to the Sermon on the Mount, in which Jesus presents the Beatitudes. If you turn to Matthew 5 (NIV) with me, you'll find the following excerpt: Blessed are the meek: for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness: for they will be filled. Blessed are those who aren't total cunts: for they will get special VIP access passes on the Day of Judgment. Here's an archived reddit about women and their sexual numbers: https://archive.is/5fLnP It's interesting, but I don't see how it's relevant. The thread specifically addresses women with high partner counts. And many of them report being in happy, healthy relationships (despite TRP's predictions). In that study both men and women lied until hooked up to a lie detector test (that wasn't working). Men reported more partners until hooked up to the lie detector, women reported fewer. I certainly won…

False, male incels couldn't possibly be putting themselves out there more than they already do. Alright, Dwight Schrute. I need to disagree, especially since I've spoken with a few "incels" (mostly from FA or TRP communities). They're mostly just young people, typically struggling with depression and/or an anxiety disorder. Dealing with that and trying to navigate social scenarios can be frustrating (and I know that, personally), but it's not an inescapable curse. Male incels don't get advice. T…

Well, let's do some introspection. Why do you think you haven't gotten laid? Do you think you're ugly or something? Have you been taking care of yourself, your health, your appearance? Do you still try anymore? Some people give in to depression. Are you struggling with mental illness?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/16 08:29 PM
1

Are you serious? You do realize, at one point in time, the internet didn't exist, right? Proper nutrition and fitness isn't a novel concept. Neither is learning and practicing confidence. TRP doesn't hold claim to any of that. It's an infinitesimal microcosm of the larger "manosphere", which itself is only a small corner of the whole internet. Don't tell me I need TRP to learn anything, when I'd be better off just logging off Reddit and going outside. Also, BB forums and /fit/ >>>>> TRP.

It affects both partners Alright. but women somehow achieve partner counts the average guy can only dream of First of all, do we have any evidence that the average woman is having astronomical amounts of sex with millions of dicks? And how much is too much? I'm at about 40 right now. Do we have any evidence that promiscuity affects only women? The only "source" I've seen tossed around here is that bar graph that's supposed to illustrate the correlation between marriage/divorce rates and partner counts - which, if anything, demonstrates more the social attitudes and availability of divorce within different communities (such as a metropolitan one versus a conservative/religious one) than the corrupting effects of penises.

For men, the problem of the incel who cannot attract a woman. This problem is only going to get worse. How is being an "incel" an "insoluble" issue? I'm speaking from personal experience here. They're mostly young men who are too shy or insecure (like most young people) to talk to a girl. That's an easy fix. Or they're sick. As in, mentally ill. I'm explaining to you how most women view their inability to obtain commitment from attractive men, and how they view the occasional pump and dump. They view it as oppression, as "male privilege", as systematically supported methods and efforts to "keep them down". One-night stands and FWBs are now oppression? The fuck? Source? It, like the plight of incels, is an insoluble problem currently. What is "it", though? I have no idea what you're talking about. (Also, don't get me started on "incels".…

When I (and most people) think of "oppression", I think of individuals (in this case, women) being treated as second-hand citizens and the socio-economic and cultural factors that contribute to their mistreatment. I don't think of dating advice columns. I don't think of some ladies complaining about their love lives. What kind of bizarro world are you living in? And I'll reiterate: Currently, these are insoluble problems. What problems? The heck you talkin' about?

It's "unfair" because there are many more attractive women than attractive men. Huh? You've never been to Walmart, have you? People are astoundingly average. And again, I still don't see how this is an "unfair problem for men". Maybe I just have a different point of reference than you lot. I've never bent down and licked a woman's feet before (metaphorically), just because she's pretty/has a vagina. I might just be weird like that.

Yeah, no. That's not interesting. If you're a cunt, people aren't going to call you out for "oppressing" them. They'll call you out for being a cunt. All day, every day, we hear from Blue women who complain to high heaven that men who use them for sex, won't offer commitment, and generally aren't nice to them, are "oppressing" them. I seriously doubt that. Again, people will complain about assholes. I've done it, you've done it. Everyone does it. But the "oppressing" part? Where are you getting …

Shaming men women for their sexuality is the same as shaming homosexual ls for their sexuality. FTFY. Slut shaming abounds on TRP. We don't shame men or their sexuality. I'm a man. If some bloop did that, I'd call him/her the fuck out. That being said, we have mocked TRPers for their willful ignorance of female anatomy/biology and their refusal to meet or even acknowledge their partner's sexual needs. Trump's presidential campaign =/= /r/The_Donald, etc. I may disagree with a few of his proposed policies, but I like Trump and (most of) his supporters.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/16 11:35 PM

Trump isn't really brought up, to be honest. Some users might call him out on some off-color comment, but that's about it. We spend most of our time poking fun at TweRPs.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/16 10:57 PM

Yeah, it's cool. I just misunderstood what you wanted.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/16 10:54 PM

Eh, we had a recent off-topic thread on TBP about personal political beliefs. A few users announced that they were Trump supporters. No drama involved, s'cool.

No, it doesn't make you "blue". There is no "blue". It makes you a normal person, instead of some pill-popping nutter on the internet.

I'm a man of my word. Let's see, it's been a while since I've glossed through his bullshit. There's the "alpha" vs. "beta" dichotomy. The hatred towards women, believing that they're evil and deceitful. The "nice guy" levels of entitlement. Resentment towards society (and his parents). Believing that feminism is the bane of civilization. Insisting that women should be controlled (because, you know, they sucked Chad's dick, but not his). Some casual racism thrown in. Conspirational paranoia. Misd…

Alt-accounts, obviously. The conspiracy is real. Is this discussion going anywhere? Because you really haven't addressed the dumb "cyber bullying" argument. Are we done? Because I want to go sit on the toilet and check my Tinder.

Oh, alright. Give me a few minutes, in that case. I need to take a mean shit.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/16 08:25 PM

I'm not TRP, so your pathetic attempt at shaming doesn't work. I calls it how I sees it. Except for those threads where you do. Shit, you're right. I guess we're not as merciful as I thought. If it's TweRPy, we'll call it out. But, as the comments show, we're not particularly keen on making fun of people who are already down. And to suggest we're bullies because we make fun of TweRPiness? Shit, man. That's goofy.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/16 08:22 PM
3

I mean, I could show you some posts where we call out some TweRPy behavior and satirize it in the comments, but copying and pasting links on mobile is such a hassle. We also have several good writers. They post fairly frequently (self-posts and in-thread). I'll dig up a few funny ones for you when I find the time. K, bb?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/16 08:15 PM
1

Or as we called them in grade school, bullies. Oh, we're the bullies now? That's just funny. Hypothesis confirmed. TweRPs can dish it out, but they can't take it. I see this, I laugh. Is that your idea of "hate" and "bullying"? Give me a break and grow some thicker skin. If you or I or anyone else posts anything online, we need to accept that people can and will disagree. This ain't no safe space, darling. (Also, side note: We don't really make fun of people on /r/ForeverAlone. They're usually d…

/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/16 07:53 PM

Nah, we're against doxxing. That's a very loose definition of satire. You're just circlejerking. Circlejerking is, like, the medium of intellectual communication here on Reddit. Totes satire, m8.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/16 07:53 PM
0

I don't know, man. Lots of people with different beliefs and ideologies visit TBP. We've got blue-haired feminazis and MAGA-spouting Trump supporters. I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm just there to laugh at TweRPism.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/16 07:51 PM
2

Mods != community. The second thread clearly shows multiple members of the community trying to dox someone. No way you can get around that. And it was shut down, demonstrating that the subreddit stands against doxxing. Can't get around that. Implying no participation stops brigading? You're priceless. I don't know what you're implying. We're the most innocent angels ever. ;* How is stalking a user's comments and profiling all of them "satire"? It is when we goof about it in the comments section.…
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/16 05:15 PM

Yeah, he wouldn't fit in. All his rambling about "alphas" and "betas" and how women are fuckin' shit? That's what we make fun of, coincidentally.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/16 05:13 PM
4

But much of the community seems fine with doxxing. Mm, nope. We're not. Against the rules, m8. What part of targeting specific users is satire? Seems to me like it's just classic SRD-style brigading. We don't brigade. Non-participation links, archives and all that shit. We do point out the goofy shit TweRPs post and we'll laugh it up in the comments. Sometimes that shit satirizes itself. You don't find it funny. That's fine. Maybe it hurts your feelings. Maybe it's just not your cup of tea. You're entitled to your opinion. My friend loves The Office, but I can't stand it. Shit's legit funny, though. When some dope on MRP needs to consult his lil' "boy's only" club because his wife asks him for a glass of water, I can't help but laugh. No joke, that actually happened.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/16 05:05 PM

Sorry, m8. I don't plan on having another read through his "manifesto" anytime soon. All the bullshit beliefs are there, but I can't give you specific quotes right now.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/16 05:01 PM

I don't have time to find and gloss over his "manifesto" right now. Nor do I want to. But all the elements and bullshit beliefs are there.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/16 04:59 PM
4

I don't agree with doxxing. TBP does not condone it either, which is why the moderators stepped in. But pointing out and even poking fun at somebody's public comments? Nothing wrong with that, m8. We make fun of politicians, might as well give those TweRPs a good ribbing too.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/16 04:53 PM
1

I think the issue here is that every single person has a different idea of what TBP is. For me, it's just a subreddit for poking fun at TRP. It's not a belief system, it's not an ideology.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/16 04:48 PM
6

Pot meets kettle, I guess.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/16 03:20 PM

I've already explained myself. It's like a cycle. TweRPs vomit vitriol against the scapegoat of the week (women, "betas", society, their mothers, Jews, etc.). We call out their shitty behavior and laugh. Of course, you won't find it funny. But if that's your definition of a "hate group", then you might just be a little too thin-skinned. It's a real "pot calling the kettle black" situation.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/16 02:07 PM
3

You're wrong. I'm not a social worker. I volunteer to help people struggling with mental illness. I've personally dealt with mental illness, depression, and suicide in my own life. Unwarranted hatred is what I laugh at.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/16 01:53 PM

I don't get it. Both posts are pointing out specific users for their nutty behavior. Any out-of-limits behavior was reigned in by the mods.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/16 01:44 PM

I already told you: Mental illness is another issue entirely. If you'd like me to go more in-depth about my work, I can (when I have some more free time).

TweRP posts some bullshit (like this). We laugh. Is that your definition of a "hate group"? I didn't realize TRPers were just as sensitive as their Tumblrina counterparts.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/16 01:40 PM

Absolutely. It makes me laugh. That's a positive outcome.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/16 01:36 PM

Theredpill is terrible but I don't think thebluepill is that much better. That's rich. TRP spews hate on a daily basis. But when they're called out for shitty behavior, they can't take it.

If I circumstantially share some opinion with a neo Nazi, would that mean I identify as a fascist and white supremacist? Of course not. TBP exists to poke fun at TRP. Elliot Rodger espoused many of the same poisonous beliefs that TRP does. If you think he's a "blooper" like me, then you're sadly mistaken. If he found red pill he would lift, hold frame and learn to accept women as flawed beings... Exercising and treating women like normal people? I just can't wrap my cuck brain around that one. /…

What does TRP miss? Nothing, TRP has it all. Misdirected anger, unrepentant (and childish) misogyny, resentment against society, unwarranted loathing against anyone who's "unplugged". Self-loathing, desperately masked by a pseudo-narcissistic attitude. Even conspirational paranoia and the occasional racist or anti-Semitic comment. If MRAs actually addressed and attempted to change issues affecting men, then the "men's rights movement" would be an incredible force for good. But they don't. They just whine about feminism online all day.

Why aren't these guys coming to a less misogynistic way of looking at things? Because they're part of an incredibly tiny subsection of society that, for some ridiculously stupid reason, decides to turn to woman-hating keyboard warriors for life advice. Everyone struggles. But don't tell me that the only resource these young men have is TRP. That would be a lie. I would know, I'm a young man and I've been through the same struggles.

Issues? There are so many serious issues affecting men today, like mental illness/suicide (and the stigma around it) and higher rates of incarceration. What do TRPers do to rectify that? Whine about not getting their dicks wet, of course. "Getting" sex isn't even that hard. Why would anyone want to forcibly bend their own sexuality?

I don't understand any of this stupid terminology. People form relationships, some short and some long. Those relationships eventually end. Sometimes, people have trouble getting over those past relationships. It's not even a sex/gender-specific issue. Happens to girls, happens to guys. Even happened to me, back when I was a wee lad.

Ideologies change over time. Going back to your analogy, today's Christianity is vastly different from that of the first Christ-worshiping Jews. I'm not invested enough here to argue over semantics and definitions, though.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/16 09:49 PM
2

Mods deleted my comment? Huh. If you call yourself a feminist but disagree with the architects of feminism that's a bit like calling yourself a Christian but saying you're not really sure about the whole Jesus thing. I get the analogy, but I disagree. In this case, it'd be more on par with disagreeing with something one of the earlier disciples said. And that's fine. Feminism isn't even a religion, so that's just as fine (if not more).
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/16 05:06 PM

Shit, man. I'm sure plenty of feminist figureheads were against marriage. That doesn't surprise me. But believing in womens' rights n' shit doesn't have to clash with building a family.

It's easier to shit on particular groups of people (and rationalize your behavior) when you paint with a broad brush. And TRPers love to use a broad brush when dumping on their favorite scapegoat of the week (be it women, "betas", minorities, "Chads", Jews, etc.). Honestly, I doubt most TRPers subscribe for the self-help aspect. Self-improvement isn't much of a novel concept, after all.

Answer the question. Answer the question please. Seriously though, how can I deny that most women treat "betas" like shit? When I was younger, I was what TRPers would describe as a "beta". I was fat and not particularly attractive, depressed, and riddled with insecurities. I was not very popular - with girls or otherwise. (And then I got totes hot, but that's another story.) Even when I was a "beta" loser, I was never shat on by girls. Turned down? Sure. But treated with utter contempt? Never.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/16 09:35 PM

Yeah, but... How do you intend to prove that? Outside of the "Mean Girls" media trope?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/16 06:33 PM

Exactly. I even see women in nightclubs emptying their drink on the heads of beta males after the guy approaches them and asks them for a dance. I have never seen this happen. And I've been to a lot of clubs.

That's nice. It's too bad your personal preferences (and your black-and-white view on attractiveness) don't really validate your earlier bogus claims. What do TweRPs call it? "Solipsism"?

Where the fuck are these '' most men getting laid ''' at? You need to log off reddit and go outside first. Relationships don't mean shit. That's bullshit. I'm (personally) inclined to casual sex, but don't discount relationships. Many people find them both sexually and emotionally fulfilling.

I'm glad that you managed to derive something positive out of a place like TRP. Mad respeck. And I'm sorry to hear about your brother. But that's the problem, I think. TRP is toxic. And it's pathetic, honestly. There's way too much misguided hate and resentment. All the misogyny, the "beta"-bashing, the (obnoxiously fake) "field reports", the abuse and the self-loathing, the cult-ish behavior... What's the point? Why should any young man dig through all that chit just for some actually good advi…

Yo! Misc. native here, representing up in this bitch. I loved fucking around on the BB forums. And honestly, it's better there than on TRP (and other less-palatable sites, like r9k and SlutHate). Political incorrectness can run rampant occasionally, but nobody really gives a shit (except for hypersensitive Tumblrinas, I guess). Any TRP-esque hatred and bitterness (directed towards woman, "betas", Jews, etc.) is shut down pretty quick. Oh, and you can regularly find actual lifting advice there. I…

/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/16 06:59 PM

Alright? Have sex, in that case. Again, it's not that hard.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/16 06:55 PM
5

Incest? The fuck? Honestly, I don't know what you're going on about here. Do you want me to acknowledge that sexy people are sexy? That's not some surprise. We all want to have sex with hot people. But average-looking people, both men and women, can and DO still have healthy and active sex lives.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/16 06:54 PM
4

That's not true. Frankly, it's dismissive of the real struggles that mentally-ill individuals endure. I have clinical depression. Struggled with suicide ideation as a young man. Sex is nice, as is the physical contact. But those problems don't go away.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/16 06:51 PM

Uh, yeah. They get laid. I did. My friends did. You can too. It's not even that hard.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/16 06:45 PM

Yeah, they're dealing with mental illness. Also, the Isla Vista shooter was a fucking nut. He killed people. I'm not going to sympathize with him.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/16 06:42 PM
3

Having had experienced sexual frustration as a teenager/young adult, I would not describe it as "torture". Stop being melodramatic.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/16 06:39 PM
3

And yet average-looking people still get laid. I don't look like a Navy Seal. Neither do any of my male friends. We still manage to have good sex lives. Again, I don't see that many excuses. If this is coming from a personal place, then consider reassessing your insecurities.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/16 06:37 PM
3

How? Unless you're dealing with some serious physical deformities or mental illnesses, then I can't find many excuses to not get laid.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/16 06:31 PM
3

Ah, so you admit that this sexual "torture" you're enduring is purely self-inflicted. I won't judge you for your fetishes. I know you're not being serious, of course. Only a troll would suggest that he is experiencing ENDLESS PAIN because he can't be bothered to jack off.

I need to agree with /u/HigHog here. We're not trying to "cudgel" you. You just seem insecure. So what if I hold my girlfriend's bag for a few moments? So what if she holds on to, say, my tool belt? It's not a big deal. Don't get all paranoid over it.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/16 08:27 PM

This is a lot to take in, so I'll need some time to process it. I genuinely believe you should take a short break from reddit and all this "pill" nonsense, though.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/16 09:16 PM
2

Yeah, we're done here. Best of luck. EDIT (since I just saw your edit): It's hard to believe that this two-word phrase - "be yourself" - was the only formative advice you received through life. You didn't grow up in a vacuum. You must have learned something from your experiences. Don't bullshit me. More importantly, don't bullshit yourself. It's just an excuse. Anyway, we're done. Peace out.

Some people were just too nice to tell you that you smelled like shit. Now it's their fault that you were miserable? Sounds like an excuse. And you didn't say the "exact opposite". I did, in fact. Earlier, you said: You don't take a guy who is basically shit, and tell him to keep on being shit. But, in my original post, I said: You should be yourself. Don't compromise your values and personality to appease other people. But "being yourself" doesn't excuse laziness and entitlement. If you're an u…

You don't take a guy who is basically shit, and tell him to keep on being shit. I didn't say that. In fact, I said the exact opposite in my original post. I'm calling it a "conspiracy" because you're presenting it as a conspiracy. A ridiculous one, as well. So, what? My mom tells me to be nice. As a result, I end up as a sexless beta cuck for life? As if I didn't receive any other advice growing up. As if I didn't learn from my experiences. It's an excuse.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/16 05:50 PM
1

I can certainly empathize with TRPers. But I can't buy this conspiracy. Everyone is told to "be yourself", regardless of sex/gender. And it's not bad advice. We weren't brainwashed. It's not like we were tied down, eyes clamped open, and forced to watch a screen. On it, two words: BE YOURSELF. That's just dumb. You can't blame your problems on this one phrase. It's an excuse.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/16 05:38 PM
1

You won't buy it because it upsets your tidy little narrative. Uh, no. I don't believe it because it sounds absurd.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/16 05:25 PM
1

I'm not really buying this "indoctrination" conspiracy.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/16 05:12 PM
2

No one comes to TRP seeking to blame other people. You must be going to a different TRP. This has all been a huge misunderstanding! When I was younger, I was told to be myself. I was told a lot of things. Somehow, that one phrase didn't stop me from improving myself and developing as an individual. It's an excuse, dude.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/16 05:04 PM
2

It absolutely is.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/16 04:57 PM
3

If you don't know why TRPers blame this phrase and the idiots who utter it, then you're ill informed. I can't understand how one can misconstrue this two-word phrase and blame it for all their problems. I explained myself. It's an excuse.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/16 04:53 PM
3

As I told you (in another comment): That wasn't the point of my post, to suggest that TRPers blame an Illuminati-esque cabal for all their misery. I mean, some definitely do. I'm fairly confident I saw the "ruin the sex lives of betas" conspiracy a few times. But not all. The point is: "Be yourself" is just a saying. It has its merits, but I don't know why TRPers put so much blame on this one phrase. They managed to twist this two-word piece of positive guidance into an awful excuse for bad beha…

I care. You might not believe me, and I understand that. But I do. And I can feel the resentment, the anger, the pain in your words. If you believe that TRP has done you good, then I'm glad you were able to derive something positive out of something quite negative. But have you considered seeing a therapist?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/16 04:22 PM
1

I'm sure it does, but I think personal experience plays a big formative role too.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/16 04:18 PM
1

I was a kid once, you know. I was told to be myself. I was told a lot of other advice too, though. If TRPers are hurting, then I feel them. But this is just an excuse.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/16 04:13 PM
1

What am I supposed to tell you, buddy? It's just a saying. Honestly, I don't know why TRPers put so much weight into this one phrase. I don't know why they expect it to solve all their problems. I notice you switch it up at the end of your post to say "be your best self" but that is an entirely different statement from "be yourself." Well, apparently, the distinction needs to be made for my pill-popping friends. As much as I love them, they managed to twist this two-word piece of positive guidan…

You've been through some very rough times, assuming what you're saying is true. Why would I mock you for that? I've suffered too. We all have. We can empathize with one another. I still disagree with TRP, though. And I'll still mock it.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/16 03:09 PM

So melodramatic! It's cute. And I genuinely mean that. In an endearing way, not in an insulting way.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/16 03:06 PM
1

I see. So much for all that "kumbayah" bullshit, right? No quarter, no prisoners. Let God sort them out. Anyway, I'm not suggesting that TRPers put the blame on an Illuminati-esque cabal for all their problems. Some definitely do, but not all. NARPALT. I'll reply to you later.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/16 02:46 PM

No deal. There are enough conspiracy nutters on TRP rambling about the "feminine imperative" anyway. Also, I already saw your other comment. I just don't have time right now to read through a wall of text. I'll get to you later.

Just goes to show you're just as bad if not worse than what you profess RP to be. TweRPs love to dish it out, but they just can't take it. Especially hypocritical, considering how often they mock and belittle women (and, generally, anybody who doesn't follow their little pseudo-cult). I do not and will not mock anybody who is struggling. But TRP peddles a toxic ideology, all while masquerading as a "self-improvement" forum. I will mock it. You are, my friend. I emphasized that there are, in fact, advocacy groups and activists promoting feminist ideals in the Middle East (even if the average individual here isn't particularly active overseas). And there are. Your comment here isn't really relevant to this discussion, especially considering that "feminists" aren't a homogenized group.

You're ignoring what I'm saying.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/04/16 09:15 PM

Don't worry, not implying anything. I don't care much about labels. I care about beliefs and actions. I have also seen that "feminists" are doing very little about Middle East. Depends on where you look, doesn't it? The average person here might not be very involved. But there are advocacy groups and social activists worldwide that are.

being told women are equal when theyve contributed nothing towards humanity? You sound like a teenager. What have you contributed, outside of shitposting on reddit? being told women are exactly like men? Society values both, but there are differences between men and women. Nobody denies that (outside of Tumblr, at least). propagating lies of original sin? Sounds like you've got some religious baggage. Again, you're being melodramatic. You weren't fed any nefarious "blue pill" lies.

I've never witnessed or heard of this happening. Yep, exactly. Are you seriously suggesting there's a conspiracy to keep virgins down? You should at least have one example of people opposed to virgin-shaming being "put down".

Despite the efforts of sex-positive advocates, slut-shaming is still prevalent and commonly practiced too. If you step outside, you'll notice that the world isn't populated by privilege-checking Tumblrinas. ... and when somebody does try to fight against it, society puts them down. What are you talking about? Can you give an example? I've never witnessed or heard of this happening.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/16 11:32 AM

Totes sorry, dude. I'm not going to argue over the semantics of insults (and, apparently, the evolutionary implications of said insults). Especially considering that wasn't the point of my original post. Ciao.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/16 01:35 AM

Have you been missing out on all the "Ha! He's a neckbeard virgin! What a loser!" comments? Must've been mentioned a few times in this thread, at least. That being said, I don't go out of my way to insult virgins. Also, like I said, I didn't just specify insults (as a part of "shaming") in my last post.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/16 01:22 AM

People do verbally insult virgins (just like how people verbally insult sluts). But I didn't just specify insults in my last post.

Why are TRPers and MRAs ranting about obnoxious radical feminists on Tumblr when millions of men are forced into slavery-like labor conditions in third-world countries? I mean, people typically react to the stimuli in front of them, not on the other side of the globe.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/16 12:12 AM

Because you're insulting somebody and negatively judging his/her worth as an individual based on his/her sexuality. It's a dick move, regardless of sex/gender.

Understood. My comments are not, in any way, intended to bully. I'm particularly sensitive to the subject of mental illness, though. With that said, you (self-admittedly) spend a LOT of time here. Again, how does obsessively combing through PPD help you and your situation? What mysterious "truth" are you trying to find here? How will it save you?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/01/16 11:22 PM

How does obsessively combing through PPD help you and your situation? What mysterious "truth" are you trying to find here? How will it save you? You're allowing mental illness, coupled with the spurious ramblings of online strangers, to consume you. It's already damaged the relationships in your life. What else will it destroy? You need to help yourself. Are you getting help?

don't be afraid to soft/hard next Set boundaries and expectations in your relationships, don't be afraid to enforce them. Don't fester in an unhappy, unfulfilled relationship. Good advice. Not uncommon or unique, just repackaged. treat yourself as number 1 "Look out for Number One". Popular idiom. Look out for your personal interests. Be confident and assertive. That's a good point, actually. I was born and grew up in a very poor urban area. The "culture" there was (unsurprisingly) very different from that of a suburban neighborhood or of a metropolitan city. And that doesn't even take into account the regional differences. I have no idea what /u/pakleader is talking about, to be honest.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/01/16 12:43 AM

This idea of "dread game" relies on instilling anxiety in your partner in order to get what you want. Typically blowjobs n' shit. It's pretty fuckin' stupid. ... but being 99% american is the best way to go. What does that even mean? Are you referring to the language and how you speak? Or how you behave? The food you eat? The TV shows you watch? The clothing you wear? Like, if an Indian guy shows up looking like a character from the Mahabharata, there's bound to be some confusion. I mean, if you're trying to appeal to a certain demographic, there will need to be some common ground for you and the other person to relate on. I agree with /u/Ultrablue19…

I've been having casual sex for most of my life. That's what I meant, to be honest. I've only had, like, two LTRs. One was in (and ended after) high school, back when this idea of "partner count" didn't really matter. The other took place in my early 20s with a good friend of mine. She and I had both "slutted it up" before entering the relationship, so sexual insecurity wasn't much of an issue. We had a good two year run, but we eventually ended it when she moved to live with family in Europe. W…

The article doesn't frame "Nice Guys" as rapists, though. In fact, it encourages men to practice confidence, be straightforward with their sexual/romantic intentions, and overcome any anxiety of approaching people and being labelled negatively. With that being said, there are plenty of entitled men out there who need a good dose of reality.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/15 09:06 PM

That blog isn't awful, to be honest. I just read through this post and he addresses the toxic attitude regarding sex/dating that plenty of "Nice Guys" (and TRPers, by extension) fester in. That's the only article I read so far, though. What's so bad about his blog?

Be confident, work out, eat healthy. Respect yourself, have a backbone. This is all "mainstream" and "commonly-held" advice. What unique advice does TRP provide that hasn't been tainted by a misogynistic slant?
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/15 07:38 PM

How is TRP the "only thing" that recognizes these issues? Oh, what's that? You've started working out and building muscle. That's good. And women are more attracted to you now? How is this a revelation to anyone?

And I wrote that the tradition is antagonistic toward both male and female sexuality, not just men. Nobody is disputing the fact that the Judeo-Christian tradition is stringent in regards to sexual purity. I am, however, disagreeing with your claim that the Bible is particularly antagonistic towards men (and, as a result, in-line with all the modern-day feminists that supposedly want to chop my balls off). There was no "legitimate discussion" here to begin with. You claimed that "blue-pillers" are often sarcastic and dismissive. I countered, saying that TRPers "pull the exact same nonsense". You're kidding, right? That's your evidence for why the Bible is (supposedly) particularly antagonistic towards men and, therefore, in-line with modern-day feminism? I didn't want to be the one to take her virginity (and I may have been a bit worried that she'd become overly dependent/clingy). I didn't call MRAs "pussies". That's beneath me. I did, however, criticize them for their failure to make constructive progress in enacting "positive social change for men". Listen, I'm a man. Women are shit, though! But seriously... Discussing serious social issues that affect men? Not misogynistic. Exchanging tips on dating and romance? Not misogynistic. Take care of yourself, alright? Don't let all this pill-popping nonsense get in the way of your well-being.

I can't even make sense of this statement. What are you trying to say here? That "masculine" individuals are more likely to cite their sources? Do you have a source for that?

Ah, c'mon. I'm not a troll. I just have a sense of humor. In any healthy relationship, there should be mutual respect. You can respect me. And I can respect you... even though you're a big ol' nerd that likes Star Wars.

I'm sorry I can't go back and do any kind of statistics to prove that this was the case. I guess I'll just dismiss it. It wasn't my experience, after all.

Have you ever noticed, in general, in discussions men will tend towards siding with statistics whereas women will side with their personal experience? ... No? Not really. Most people stick with personal anecdotes. Unless you were a huge debate team dweeb in high school. Like me.

You know what? I've never actually seen the original Star Wars trilogy (in its entirety, at least). Just realized that.

Dude, c'mon. I love to put on a good set of clothes and give myself a sharp look. I can't stop staring at my reflection in the mirror, I'm that good-looking. Are you really telling me you've never done that? so they create a new reality in their own minds where such illogic is true. lol I think you might be a bit in too deep, buddy.

Well, if feminists do it, then it's oka-... Aah, nice try! You almost got me there! You clever dog, you!

The Tao of Steve Ah, yes, I remember. It's one of the greats. Right up there with "Citizen Kane" and "2001: A Space Odyssey".

... Which just proves how fitting my suggestion of "self-centeredness" is! Thanks, mate.

An intelligent woman would at least recognize how the other gender feels, even when she doesn't feel the same way. So... self-centeredness, right? Also, some women actually believe that the human form, in the nude, isn't and/or shouldn't be sexualized. Plenty do, though. On the other hand, some men don't believe that they're being sexualized when they take off their shirts. Other men (like myself) are very well aware of how sexy we are. flexes Anyway, it's all opinions. I don't really care, to b…

Neither does solipsism, which is defined as the view or theory that the self is all that can be known to exist. I think "self-centered" is a pretty good fit, to be honest. Or "unempathetic".

This is the lie that's repeated over and over again by feminists. Ah, right. I keep forgetting about de Beauvoir's treatise on "nice guys" and how they're total tools. Anyway, if somebody like this tried to woo you by being nice and catering to your whims, would you still find her attractive? Would you entertain a romantic relationship, on the basis of her "niceness" towards you?

I don't really care, to be honest. If TRPers want to take a term from epistemological philosophy and redefine it to fit their weird beliefs on gender and sex, they're free to do so. But it's still dumb.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/15 08:29 PM

That's why "nice guys" are ridiculed, though. Not because they're actually nice, but because they're supplicating sycophants who expect a (typically sexual) reward for being courteous.

The (mis)use of the term "solipsism" in TRP is just idiotic. The word you're looking for is "selfish" or "self-centered". And that self-centeredness oftentimes stems from a lack of perspective (in this case, based on sex/gender). Yes, women can be (and often are) self-centered. So can men. We're all human.

TBP would say the guy is being "abusive" for taking your mac and cheese, and say he is "manipulative" for convincing you you do not need the calories. Literally nobody on TBP would say this. There's a BIG difference between playful teasing and emotional and/or sexual coercion.

Front page. 190 upvotes, and counting. Gilded. Not to mention that TRP, on countless occasions, promotes this comically villainous "Dark Triad" nonsense. Oh, you got a girl pregnant? What a bitch, right? Better crush her self-esteem and isolate her from her loved ones. There's really no discussion to be had here. This isn't sidebar material. Sarcasm. You shouldn't read the sidebar. It's trash.

So no one on TBP has any obligation to support any of their points ever again, simply because someone else screenshotted a bunch of random TRP posts a year or so ago? Honestly? No, not really. Our subreddit exists to poke fun at your poorly-named online cult. PPD is hardly an effective platform for any constructive debate, especially considering the amount of shit-flinging that goes on here. Props to the mods, though. You obviously can't support your argument, otherwise you would have just linke…

The top stickied post on TBP archives plenty of evidence for TRP's bad behavior, including a section dedicated to how TRP/MRP ruins relationships. I don't know how recently that particular post has been updated, but new examples from the man-o'-sphere crop up daily. It's safe to say that these incidents aren't uncommon. TRP (and its affiliates) is a toxic community and, unsurprisingly, tends to attract toxic people. Anyway, I have no intention or time to argue with you.

To be honest, it's not an isolated incident.
