I have the Skyla, and have had the copper IUD before. They don't mess with estrogen, which means fewer side effects than the pill. Hormonal IUDs release a localized hormone (the synthetic hormone progestin). I'm not saying it's not possible, but since it's a localized hormone, it shouldn't have the possibility of affecting your mental and emotional health. However, I always side with caution so if it makes you feel better, you should insist on the copper IUD.

I use the ParaGuard and despite what some ladies had said about the cramping and heavier flow, I have not had the same experience. I had cramping the first couple of months when I first started my period, but it's now turned into mild cramps. Also, my flow is heavier but I'm okay with that since it means I won't be pregnant. My uterus is smaller than most so the tip can be felt by a penis but I've had no complaints from my partners. Also, I use condoms on top of that just in case (plus condoms c…

Are you willing to share some of the changes you went through that turned a FWB into an actual relationship? Congratulations by the way!!

How do you become friends with your exs decades after? Do you just say "hey what's up? Let's catch up?" On facebook or something?

I think solid examples are important to figuring out exactly what a shit test looks like. The sidebar explanation is quite abstract.

Thank you for this answer! I'm not comfortable meeting guys at the bar either. I just feel like I don't want to come right out and say I'm interested (rejection and awkwardness) but I want to be able to have a conversation out of the blue with a guy without being awkward socially.

I have been searching and I feel like it's all about when you're in a relationship. For example, what are the pursing guidelines before the dates? How can we flirt and pursue men without being intimidating?

I feel comfortable and no judgement but you're right. He's just using these words to try and keep me as Plan B for the future...

I don't know. I like him as my friend.

Is it about respect though... I've experienced other people and it never feels right unless with him. Can you feel 'right' with a lot of people?

I wish to gain a friendship with someone who's still really important to me. He says he likes to tell me things he can't tell others and he says he can rely on me but I don't know if he's just using me by saying those things.

Yes I do expect to stay friends because it was mutual? Does that sound really stupid then...?

Why can we not be friends? If we were friends before the relationship, does that mean we can never be friends then?

So just because we're opposite sex and have had a history, there's no chance in ever being friends? I feel like throwing away so many years of friendship is...terrible. I guess I would hope my future partner will realise the situation and accept it because he would trust me.

I agree with this. Just don't demand her to make a choice or make her feel like she's backed into a corner.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
