Most of it that isn't just straight-up vapid is worship songs to the devil or disparaging something about God and the bible. Most "Christian" music is probably worse because it claims to be better but it isn't. You can always do the cool thing and write your own music.

This may seem funny to you Just the false assumptions part. I can't tell if my doubts or proclivity to believe it is a sin is because I it was drilled into me growing up, or because it's the actual truth. Other people have provided plenty of verses in your other post to reveal the truth about it. I'm looking into the root word porneia because that's the original greek word for sexual immortality I believe. "A little Greek is a dangerous thing." I'd recommend reading the verses in their English t…

Inexperienced men can easily suffer through the pitfalls of dealing with the numerous women There are so many examples of this throughout the bible and so many more passages with instructions to young men in what to look for. The bible gives you plenty of tools to discern such matters. The reason for the post is because marriage was defined differently back then, and thus fornication circumstances would also be differently defined. The mental gymnastics here are pretty obvious. You're just hamst…

So you're looking for justification to sin because it's more socially acceptable now than it once was to commit that sin? Honestly my kids could come up with better excuses for disobeying than whatever mess this post is.

How did it work out for you? I had an exemption at my previous job (over a decade) but they were continually tightening restrictions to the point where I said enough. I left for a new career 8 months ago and it's going well.

Just because you're saved from sin and hell doesn't mean you should sin because you'll be forgiven. Romans 6 1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so …

The Dead Sea Scrolls were written by a weird offshoot sect of about 200 Jews that had strange beliefs. A lot of the texts were changed quite a bit when compared to other manuscripts. I do believe the bible is infallible because the bible tells me it is (Psalm 12:6-7). I'm a KJV type because of the trustworthiness of the scholars and manuscripts used. There were many different manuscripts they used to compare and most of the differences were in spelling, punctuation, capitalization and the like (…

I think OsmiumZulu's original post was great, and then there was this comment which I appreciate- dispensationalism really leads to a lot of disconnect which makes biblical understanding difficult for those that buy into it, and makes it harder to explain biblical concepts to people.

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Holy means to be set apart, sacred, pure, worthy. If your body is pudgy or lazily skinny would you consider that holy? What about God? 1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? Which pig had a house that stood- the …

A true salvation/faith/repentance will show forth good works (fruit) Usually yeah. A faith without works is possible, though it'll be dead. I'm NOT advocating for a faith without works, works are incredibly important. They're just not a marker for salvation. You can have backslidden saved Christians (the drunk guy Ray Comfort interviewed someone else mentioned in these comments is a good example).

Changing your lifestyle can't be a requirement for salvation as it requires a lot of work. Ephesians 2: 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

The presentation is pretty simple. I start with a greeting and a question like "Are you doing to a church" or something like that, and follow up with, "More importantly than church, are you sure that if you died today you would go to heaven?" After their affirmative/negative answer I ask something like, "If you have a couple of minutes I would love to show you a few verses in the bible that show you how you can be sure you're going to go to heaven". Then I basically walk through the Romans Road …

What's your approximate BF% right now? Just shy of 9% Dumbbells, plates, and other exercise equipment is still in high demand around the country You're absolutely right. I live next to a college and with classes going online and students moving back home I expect trade sites to blow up with people looking to unload their equipment in the next two weeks. Barring that I'll find something from an online retailer. Are you a pastor? Church planter? Missionary? If so, you (and me) will be judged more …

Physical/Stats Married, 2 children, 30s, 5'6", 160lbs, Bench 175, Squats 200, Deadlifts 200 I'm sleeping well, my diet is going well but I need to increase calories to meet my new TDEE. I got really sick earlier this year for about a month and lost about 30 pounds so it's been a test of my dedication, but I'm finally back to where I was. Good point. I'll rephrase: Where and how does the bible explain our relationship with Christ? I hear the word most often in liberal and feminized churches and it's used to push a gushy almost romantic relationship when I see the bible explain our relationship as children, joint heirs, that are called to obedience after being saved. I think making a distinction between the biblical relationship and the churchy-style relationship is important.
/r/RPChristians26/05/20 02:28 AM

Where does the bible call it a relationship? We're God's children called to obedience, and obedience is how we show God our love.

I agree, Anderson is great. His teaching on homosexuals isn't just based on Leviticus, but the whole bible from Genesis through Revelation. Romans 1 talks about the practice and those given to a reprobate mind. Anderson really gets a bad rap but it's because he preaches from the bible, not from a watered, compromised doctrine.

You can't earn your way out of salvation, just like you can't earn your way into it. Nothing you do can affect your salvation- it's a gift of grace. What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? That said, you do need to get your act together. Repent and turn your life back to following Christ.

You sound very defensive, quick to judge, and arguing the way you are is not a good look. Instead of being in your frame you look like a painting flopping about with every breeze. The point you seem to be missing is this: Yes, women are accountable for their own actions, but we as men ultimately do not control the actions of women. We have control of ourselves so focusing on our own actions and conduct is not only the most rational choice, but it's both biblical and effective as well. How many v…

Use Christian discernment and proceed with caution. Please do! A lack of real vetting in books is a big reason we wind up with huge followings for the prosperity gospel, poverty gospel, why the Purpose Driven Life was so popular, and many are led to terrible ideas. Going through Pearl's book I found most of it to be biblically sound from a traditionally conservative point of view, but definitely test it and the verses she references yourself. I'm glad you have a good dynamic in your marriage tho…

For women, I recommend a book called "Created to be his Help Meet" by Debi Pearl. It has some good information, reminders about perspective, talks about how husbands can be won by the conduct of their wives, etc. My wife trusts in and respects my leadership. If I make a decision, she goes with it. However, if she thinks I'm not making a good decision- or would prefer I make a different one- she'll talk to me about her ideas, put forth her arguments for why she thinks it's better. I'll take this …

“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you. If you don't like the way they treat you or the way the household is being run then I suggest you move out. Being a high school drop out would make things difficult. I suggest looking into GED programs. You'll find more success as it's easier to garner respect if you've completed basic education.

The NIV removes the word "propitiation" and does not convey the idea of the removal of the wrath of God in its place. It further waters down the nature of God in similar ways. It removes the idea that Jesus is the only begotten son (see John 3:16) It doesn't follow biblical language well and when the NIV should convey "stumble" it says "fall away" which implies something different altogether. (Matthew 26:31). Romans 11:25 mistranslates "fullness" as "full number" which can make proper study of t…

How retarded. It's already been pointed out, but unless you diagnose why, then which how do you go with? Without the "why trp" you could go with the "how" of feminism. Of blue pill thinking. Of whatever. Without the why, the how becomes a likely futile exercise. Throwing out the why throws out innovation. It throws out refining of tactics and method. It throws out the search of how to become the best you can. Throwing out the why is retarded as fuck.

Full-scale INTJ here and agree it is "autism light" or "1/2 retard" in the immortal words of WMP. Most (if not all) of the MBTI subs are like that. INFJ- "DAE get depressed and give themselves props for being a pansied candy ass?" ESFP- "DAE like to have fun but like get like deep sometimes too like wow" I've found them so far to be a waste of productive time.

Owning: Career- I found out I did well on my oral board interview, and I'm ranked second among the candidates (multiple positions, so almost guaranteed now). I'll be out of a dead end career where raises are capped at 3% when the "budget allows it". Gotta love a government job.
