Divorce while still loving each otherWhen I got married in 2003 I was only 25 years old. Before I started dating my wife I was just a kid. I had no idea who I was or what I wanted to do with my life. After being together for almost 25 years, any remnant of who I was before the marriage has been utterly erased. I'm just a broken man who was eventually ground down to nothing. What the hell am I supposed to do now? I have no idea who I am, what I'm supposed to do or who I'm supposed to be. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/03/26 11:54 PM
Today I RealisedThis too shall pass. I'm in the same spot as you, friend. We'll get through this. When you're at your bottom, there's only one direction to go. | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/03/26 01:26 AM

The treatment for divorce that worked for meHow are you holding up? I was married for 22 years. Separated almost a year now. I'm 48. | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/03/26 03:50 PM
The treatment for divorce that worked for meI met someone after being separated for 5 months. We connected and fell in love HARD. (She was divorcing and just out of a 4 1/2 year relationship with an ex bf.) It lasted about 6 months and ended about three weeks ago. In retrospect, I think we both needed each other for comfort. I guess my 12 month clock is starting over again? | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/03/26 03:49 PM
I've come to the realization that marriage and divorce are all about the woman in life and in courts. And it's shown as "qUiRkY bEhAviOr" on Instagram. They're celebrating blatant disregulation of emotion and expect to be forgiven for any and all said behavior. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/03/26 10:39 PM
After 11 years, I finally filed. Here are the real reasons and they're not what anyone expectsStay at home mom since we got married. House was ALWAYS trashed from HER mess. Then she would flip out that the house was a mess and she was "overwhelmed" with the state of things. Would yell and scream about getting our daughters and I to help out but she NEVER wanted us to touch her stuff so we were terrified of doing anything. She has BPD and was an alcoholic. (1 year clean though and we're all really proud of that) but what's done is done. After years of her going, "what are we even doing?" … | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/03/26 06:29 PM
Separated last April and divorcing. 5 month relationship with new gf just ended. It's been a little over two weeks since the gf and I broke up. I had a system in place to taper and quit before we broke up. I'm just giving myself some time with it before I address everything. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/03/26 03:37 PM
Separated last April and divorcing. 5 month relationship with new gf just ended.Oh, I totally get that. I was already quitting before the breakup. Now I'm just delaying the inevitable... for a little while. I'm not drinking though. So I got that going for me. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/03/26 10:52 PM
Struggling with divorce, I want to kill myselfSame here. We were married for 22 years and separated back in April. The first few weeks were brutal. The next two months were really rough. By month three I decided to stop feeling sorry for myself and realized my life is my own. I'm 8 months removed from separation and pretty much feel like myself again. Whoever that may be. | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/12/25 11:27 PM
Struggling with divorce, I want to kill myselfHowever, none of that diminishes the pain that he's feeling right now. We've all been through breakups throughout our entire lives where we're devastated. | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/12/25 11:21 PM

What are some life hack style advise for men who have just been divorced?Food. Buy two bags of premade salad at Costco. Make a big salad for lunch everyday. Cut up half an avocado, one apple and keep a bunch of cans of ranch beans or baked beans for an easy lunch. Try just red wine vinegar with some Italian spices mixed in a bottle instead of ranch or some creamy crap. When I know I always have food ready to go, it's a pretty big stress reliever. Also, a big salad like that with an apple is probably more fruits and vegetables you'd be getting otherwise, am I right? | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/07/25 12:56 AM
I am starting to lose hopeI can really relate to your comment about needing comfort. My STBXW of 22 years was my source of comfort that's no longer available to me and it crushes. Sending you a tight hug, my friend. You're too valuable to waste away. The only remedy is some really deep, hard thinking, hard crying and time. Ugh, the fucking time part is the most difficult. | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/06/25 05:40 PM
Bitch and moan about inequalities in divorceHow are you stepping up your social game? On weekends like this, my teenage daughters are busy with their own plans, and I’ve already cleaned the apartment. Sitting around watching TV or getting high all day doesn’t feel like the best option. I still take a few short walks, eat healthy, and hit the gym before work—but I honestly have no idea how or where to socialize. | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/05/25 07:29 PM
The best revenge is to be happyEpicureanism too. (I had to look up the differences.) "Stoics believed that virtue alone was the ultimate good, while Epicureans held that a certain kind of pleasure was the highest good. Epicureans focused on achieving a state of aponia (absence of pain) and ataraxia through natural and necessary pleasures." Yeah that's been me since I moved out. | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/05/25 09:38 PM

Reached a heavy point of realization tonightI read something the other day that resonated with me. Instead of changing together we changed in opposite directions. Married for 21 years, together for 24. It got to the point where we just kept triggering each other and couldn't communicate anymore without fighting. Mostly about the house. She's overwhelmed with the clutter and the chores, (stay at home Mom to our two daughters 17 and 20) but she's the only one home 80% of the time with her mess and disorganization. Anyways, it's for the best… | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/04/25 04:57 AM
Reached a heavy point of realization tonightYou know, that's one of many things that I plan on enjoying. Along with having a place of my own where everything is just the way I like it, doing what I want, when I want and focusing on myself. After everything is settled down I think I will take you up on that. Thank you. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/04/25 04:31 AM
