90% of all the men on the planet. Gotcha.

Your experience translates into 2% of how many men? All of them? All fit men? All men in your country? Neighborhood?

If a person engages in risky sex without first talking to and getting consent from the person they're actually going to have sex with, they're a piece of shit. There's no "duping" in these situations. That's a big, stupid coping mechanism. It's normalized in certain circles because those circles are (sometimes purposefully) conducive to abuse. Shouldn't a person want to make sure if they're going to commit rape or not? It's really not difficult to err on the side of not being a rapist.

But if you put her in America in the 1950s-1980s she would blend right in as virtually all women were young and thin back then. For 30 years virtually all women in America were young?

Im confused by your example, could you be more specific? What does, "not actively looking, but seeing whats out there," mean? Like going out in public? I'm not getting the difference between looking and seeing in this context. And who are "all the women"? Because i would say that a person going on multiple dates is looking for some kind of romantic companion.

All that the person making the suggestion needs to know is that sex work exists. They're not a concierge. They are not responsible for providing a list of people, services, and prices. And, again, attracting a sex partner or paying for one are essentially the only suggestions that can be made in this situation. If a friend complains to me that the weather is too cold where they're currently at and I suggest they visit Florida, am I demonstrating the Dunning-Kruger Effect because I don't know the…

They don't need to know anything about cost or availability. You dont seem to understand what recommendations or the Dunning-Kruger Effect are.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/23 11:44 PM

They're not claiming to know anything about sex work other than sex work exists and it is an option for people who have trouble attracting a sex partner. None of you examples included a person claiming they have expertise.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/23 09:05 PM

People don't suggest hiring a sex worker because they believe themselves to be experts on sex work. There simply aren't many suggestions to make - you either find someone who wants to have sex with you or you offer something in exchange for sex. This isn't the Dunning-Kruger Effect and it isn't analogous to telling a homeless person to buy a house.

That's not how evolution or sexual dimorphism work. It's entirely possible for mate selection to result in traits not advantageous to the species. Lots of female birds like brightly colored male birds. Males become brighter and brighter. Brightly colored birds are easier for predators to spot.

I'm vehemently pro-choice, but would prefer that everyone chooses abortion for every pregnancy. I'm also against sex work and pornography being institutions which I guess goes against current liberal feminist ideals. Sex work/porn is NOT inherently immoral, but the way we do it leads to too much rape and human trafficking and misinformation. The whole "empowerment" aspect is, at best, felt on an individual level and is probably a coping mechanism for most of those individuals.

Rights offer a degree of protection from the law (like the US right to free speech means you can't be imprisoned for voicing an opinion) or that something must legally be provided (like the California right to an education).

There is an obvious benefit: It makes her feel good. A compliment like "You're the most beautiful person" is hyperbole as well as a reflection of how much that person cares about their partner. It's one of the innumerable ways to express love, attraction, and affection. Logical breakdown: I like to feel good Hearing my partner express his attraction for me makes me feel good I like to hear my partner express his attraction for me I know my partner is attracted to me, but it still feels good to h…
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/21 06:15 PM

It's just as weird as men desiring small and weak partners. Because that's the reason you're hearing people tell girls to be small and weak - "BE SMALL AND WEAK (so men will like you)" Women don't have some inherent desire to play up their smaller size, it's based on what is considered sexually desirable.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/21 04:37 PM
2

Most people, regardless of gender, want to be attractive. Most men want to be bigger and stronger than their partner. If muscular women became sought after, more women would start trying to bulk up. You're "fascinated" why women want to be smaller and weaker, but don't wonder why men desire smaller and weaker partners.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/21 03:58 PM

Your example of empathy is laughable. Doesn't matter how "sincerely" you ask, 'How was your day?' is baseline small talk on the same tier as talking about the weather.

I'm a straight woman and I love men with that effeminate/androgynous look. Softer features make for a less aggressive looking face and if they have long hair then maybe they're more into grooming in general which is always fun to talk about or do together. But I love men in general.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/20 02:12 AM
11

Unless he explicitly says, "I want to take you out for dinner," then I'd prefer to split the bill. First dates I definitely want to split it. Offering to split then getting mad when he agrees is insane. I don't see that exchange as a societal norm at all. The man paying is traditional, but not the idea that the woman should offer splitting first.

Seems to me that men are doing a lot more of the controlling. See how both those perspectives become immediately meaningless?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/20 04:57 PM
1

And when someone else has contradictory experiences? Its a human tendency to look for control, not a gender issue.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/20 04:37 PM
1

How is this related to gender? If you date women then of course you'll see this "control issue" coming from women. Men do it too and there isn't a way to determine who does it more, especially if you're being vague and not giving examples.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/20 04:28 PM

No. I don't understand how it's relevant to point out both men and women can be poor communicators in a comment when that's the nature of the original post.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/20 06:07 PM

Why do people lie in general? Cover up, revenge, sympathy, explain other behavior, to make people think the situation was different from reality. Seems the bigger mystery is why certain men commit sexual assailt.

Risk/reward makes it really not worth it to have the random sex you mentioned. Describe it as women not being as horny if you want, it could also be described as the byproduct of men not needing to think. Men have a higher chance of orgasm with a new partner and a lower chance of being overpowered by them. Most women aren't going to have that omg-I-need-sex-now type of desperate horniness for a new partner because the risk is too high compared with the reward. Feeling super horny then not being …

/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/20 11:07 PM

The "contradiction" exists because these are all hypotheses. Most people on Reddit don't have the time or ability to comprehensively evaluate every reason women might have rape fantasies so they go with an easy explanation that sounds smart: Society.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/20 05:47 PM

I'm sure that this is true for the people you know, but mine have been the opposite. There are too many variables to say anything definitive.

In this era, you're doing yourself a huge disservice by ignoring online dating. If you're not using the internet, you're not trying very hard. Use Christian Mingle or whatever if you really think those are the "good men."
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/20 06:46 PM

More of an arrogance thing than a gender thing. Determine how you want to be treated and stick to those standards. If someone tries to test your devotion in some way, either don't engage or try to start a dialogue ("when you say stuff like ___ it makes me think you're testing me"). There are a lot of shitty people, but there are a lot of people in general; you're bound to meet all sorts of types.

So the disparity in film is due to women being barred from the workplace IRL for so long that any wealth is actually meaningless because men like working so much. Even in movies, where any type of reality can be depicted.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/19 05:18 PM

Sure - determining that your opponent's argument is meaningless before they even articulate it does make debating them pointless.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/19 07:36 AM
1

Yes, it is a comparison that's kind of true since both these groups include people who lack self awareness. Just like every other group.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/19 09:38 PM
2

Yeah, some people do refuse to take responsibility for their shortcomings. It's not connected to groups, it's a tendency all people have the potential for. You could apply the same idea to poor people, addicts, religious fundamentalists, political extremists, flat earthers - there are people in all groups who think, "I'm not wrong, society is wrong!" Plus, there are both fat people and incels who do acknowledge they're at fault.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/19 09:29 PM
3

You're basically just saying that some people blame society for their own problems. This isn't a new view and the comparison doesn't offer any additional insight other than letting us know you don't want to bang fatties.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/19 09:07 PM

That doesn't seem weird. Lots of people have insecurities.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/12/19 09:00 PM

Murder, rape, and assault are all acts of violence and are considered violent crimes. Robbery as a subset of theft is also described as a violent crime. Maybe these acts are committed due to inherent violent tendencies, maybe not, but they are definitely violent crimes and men are arrested for them more often than women.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/12/19 07:14 PM
1

Murder, rape and assault statistics disagree with you. The types of crime were specified. Theft statistics aren't relevant.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/12/19 07:00 PM
2

I don't. Your "examples" are confusing. The purpose of saying I don't understand was to get an explanation, but if you don't want to clarify, that's fine. We can just think the other is stupid and leave it there.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/12/19 06:52 PM
1

That's meaningless, though. Men can commit more crimes because of any variable you care to imagine. Theft can be attributed to desperation, boredom, or even stupidity as easily as it can be attributed to confidence. What purpose did bringing up theft stats serve when that's not the topic of OP or the person you replied to?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/12/19 06:48 PM
2

How does a theft statistic negate murder and assault statistics? Why did you bring up stealing?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/12/19 06:38 PM
2

I don't understand how these questions are supposed to help your argument. It just sounds like you don't know how words work. You don't even specify an area in the second "example."

You do realize that, for the most part, "not wanting to be a mother to their husband" means "not wanting to clean up after a grown ass adult," right? Cleaning up messes their children make is the responsibility of a parent. Cleaning up messes their spouses make is not the responsibility of a husband/wife.

/r/PurplePillDebate20/10/19 12:13 AM

If the answer is already there then why are people asking? Predetermination is meaningless when no one actually knows the outcome beforehand.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/10/19 11:26 PM
1

And that results in validation how? The human system may accept or reject. The sex robot system can't reject.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/10/19 09:27 PM
2

How does that result in validation? And why bring up human free will at all? Even if we don't have free will, humans have many, many more behavioral options than a sex robot. You're still describing an instance where sex robots don't have the ability to refuse any kind of advances - there can't be validation without the possibility of rejection.

It's hard to "make dating fair" without forcing people into relationships so I think the best course of action is to increase opportunities for meeting single, like-minded people. Free matchmaking/speed dating events hosted by libraries. People fill out questionnaires detailing what they're like and what they're looking for then get sorted so they meet people with complementary attributes and relationship goals. There are still lots of issues with this idea (lying, not a diverse enough group, th…

Losing interest based on assumptions about their genetic fitness sounds like a misdirected fear of commitment. Getting tiny pieces of genetic information based on family resemblance and using that to decide whether or not to breed with a member of that family isn't immoral, it's just misguided and shallow. There are more resources than ever to help everyone, men included. Resources for homelessness and veterans (male dominated demographics) have vastly improved; social attitudes toward men as caregivers (custody and paternity leave) are improving. Societal change takes a long time, but everyone is making progress. Besides, dating sucks for everyone in different ways so that's not a gendered issue and MTV telling you to hold hands with your bros is not an issue for anyone.

Romantic/erotic type stories and preferences. The more bizarre the better. Bad dates, failed threesomes, successful threesomes, getting gay, liking to wear women's underwear.
