Great book, espeically if you like eugenics and Shakespeare!

Well done. I feel like people want instant results all the time and get disappointed in a short time span. Learning to be patient proves to be my personal best coping mechanism for life in general. Know assertiveness, but be patient. Note: One's natural patience level may be affected, to a certain degree, by biology. I say try and learn anyway.

The feeling of missing out plagues all people, just in different ways. There's people who got plenty of tail in college who would love to do it all over and correct their mistakes. It's a natural yearning. It's healthy to acknowledge the past (i.e., it's not healthy to run from the past), and it's important to know how your experiences have shaped you, but it's also important to look into how you can overcome your faults. The mindset you need to craft is one that looks forward and treats the pas…

This makes a lot of sense. When I get sex, I don't fap.

How senrendipitous that I found this post the same day I decided to go nofap for a week or two. I deleted my porn saves and declared that there shouldn't be any harm in trying nofap. The post as well as the comments are really helpful (it's good to see constructive critique).

One of the best parts of meditation is there's no particular way to do it correctly. As long as you commit to sitting doing nothing for at least 10 minutes, you have meditated. I identify as secular humanist, and when I can finally get away from my thoughts, I start to feel the 'everythingness' around me. Reading Tao Te Ching really helped me grasp the meaning of meditation. Definitely approve of treating it like exercise.

I've cut down significantly on this in public because it made me feel like an isolated person. I also cut down on wearing sunglasses because it allowed me to not make eye contact with people. That being said, for the right moments, audio in your ears can be the greatest, sober, free, life-enhancing thing ever.

I appreciate the kind words. I'm an existentialist at the end of the day and accepting responsibility for my situation comes naturally to me. It makes me sad when people play-up the victim role, but I also understand that feeling like a victim has a lot to do with how people were raised. I got lucky in that respect.

That feeling really underpins the entire story too. I could deal with being short because I had been my whole life. I couldn't deal with the repercussions of not being taken seriously by people. That shit had to change.

I'd petition you should read it because Sparknotes won't even scratch the surface (it never does). You've gotta read the dialogue for yourself to get the ideas. It's mostly dialogue anyway. (There's a great hate-fuck scene too). Although I didn't exactly read it to agree with it, I remember it made me want to work toward great things.

Learn humility and tell people you're not going to argue. Just like with women, you can simply hold your frame and tell someone you're above arguing over stupid little shit. There's nothing more infuriating than a contentious person. If you're actually trying to improve your argument skills, however, I'd highly recommend getting yourself familiar with rhethorical falacies. I personally don't argue about shit I don't know about, but if you're trying to best someone, you can always pick apart thei…

This. I come to TRP looking for an informed discussion about male sexual strategy. Politics does not have to be a part of that. Some people's political opinons in here downright scare me.

You sound like you're relying way too much on the success of this. You give too many fucks. Don't bring that attitude on the date with you. Remember Abundence Mentality, and don't give a fuck. I'm not saying you should expect to fail, but you gotta check yourself and make sure you're not going to care if you fail. If you can give off this air during the date, you're golden. Edit: Also, as a secular humanist, I have to assert that whatever you believe God to be, is actually yourself. YOU are resp…

every single event boils down to the girls taking the fuck over, and dictating the course of the evening In Ireland, I dormed with all europeans. This happened nearly every time we went out, with a group full of all european girls. "Where should we go?" "IDK" "How about the normal place?" "YEAH" Me: (um...maybe we should try somewhere new?) Then I had to hear it from multiple sources the next day how sick and tired everyone was of the normal place. If I had half of the RedPill knowledge I have t…

There's a great scene in Mad Men season 6 where Don does exactly this at a dinner with his plate. "You want me to feel shitty, right up until the moment when I take your clothes off." They go upstairs and he takes her clothes off. Textbook.

Great FR, even if it took a while. I think the long game is underrated (and often ridiculed) in this sub. In my mind, TRP isn't always about instant gratification. If you don't have the patience for the long game, then don't play it. For some of us, we don't even feel like we exert much energy in a long game. The key here is that she took the initiative and you jumped on it. As long as you're satisfied and you scored, good for you.

I also see no relationship with this mentality and traveling to 'exotic places.' Traveling is one of the most fulfilling things you can do with your life, and it can even work in your favor if you're looking for pussy. It gives you the opportunity to experience different cultures of women and gives you stories you can tell women when you get back. Women love a well-traveled man

As best as I can describe, it'd be someone who would: 1) Give your wife leverage if she found out about her. i.e., Wife finds out, uses it as rationale to divorce/take your kids away. If it's someone you work with, it would only be a matter of time. 2) Reinforce already negative feelings you have toward your wife, i.e., you fool around with some girl, which only further reinforces how much you don't want to be married, which puts you one step further toward divorce. I'd say go with what Soriq wa…

A lot of my friends are alpha in all other aspects of their lives other than dealing with women, which due to their social conditioning they are complete white knight betas. I'd say most men fall into this category, ditching their natural masculine instincts for beta social conditioning. Perfectly describes me in college.

Amen to the genuine part (with exceptions for women you wanna fuck). I met a lot of cool people because I performed at open mics. It puts you in a vulnerable state that allows you to be yourself and exhibitionist at the same time. People usually respond to that with indifference or mad respect. Plus, it puts you in bars, and gets you practicing a craft for all to see.

The best way to find friends/acquaintences is to immerse yourself in communities. Lifting, martial arts, open mics, art class, bowling league, dungeons and dragons, whatever the fuck. I've met alphas, betas, hipsters, saints and annoyances in all sorts of strange places. Pick and choose among those whom you like; dismiss those you get bad vibes from. Talk to them, and learn to listen to their story. Betas can be just as good/shitty as friends as Alphas; don't hate. Further reading: Dale Carnegie…

I'm not sure how you can balance: I feel like a mistress would be a good option with this: and I don't want no fucking divorce These two things are at odds. I'm no expert, but I'd say if you don't want a divorce, don't cheat/shit where you eat. edit: formatting

Male mentality: Do it, but do it well. vs Female mentality: Do it now because you want it now. If both a male and female are going to kill themselves, the male will make it quick and painless, because they don't want a way out. Female is more likely to be impulsive about the decision and swallow some pills (she may also decide she wants to live once the pills are in her body and call a friend). Understand that the conscious intent on both parts is to off themselves (if it wasn't, they wouldn't a…

I just can't reduce suicide to attention grabbing. It's a complex behavior nor matter how you slice it.
/r/TheRedPill16/11/15 03:41 AM

From the patient's perspective, they often don't realize that they're not completely intent on killing themselves. That's why females often choose softer methods of suicide; ones that provide more outs. Men are more likely to choose definitive and more violent methods of suicide generally because we're more likely to come down on a decision. Its speaks to intrinsically masculine and feminine traits. I was on an hour-long train ride today, enjoying the scrolling view and some music, and the HB8 across the aisle never looked up from her phone once. My initial thoughts were "Our culture is so isolated and closed off." Then, I thought "It doesn't really matter what she's doing, and the fact that it bothers me says more about me than it does about her." Maybe I wasn't in the best position to judge, since I'm just staring out a window with headphones on (just as closed off). I resumed listening t…

Great post, and I really needed it. Being regarded as a "nice guy" (i.e., cordial but boring) in the eyes of women is something I was looking to battle against going through my twenties, but I wasn't sure exactly how to do it. This delineates really well how to be playful and polite at the same time. I always thought gentlemanly behavior meant that you were polite, nice, and respectful (presumably while sporting a mustache). Wrong. It's about keeping your cool and dishing out discretionary benev…

You can still maintain your core values and your essence. It's about being a more confident version of who you already are. There's a bit of a cold, calculated feel to all of this, but when you consider women can be just as cold and calculating, it evens out. It doesn't mean you can't be warm and soft at times, but when the going gets tough, you'd better know where your balls are.

Seriously, I see this shit all over Facebook too. Some people have too hard of a time accepting the world as it is and feel the need to bitch about all the issues they can't control. I smoked a ton of weed but I never got this uppity about capitalistic society or the world's problems.

This sounds like more of that "WAKE UP PEOPLE! YOU'RE A SLAVE AND THE WORLD IS FUCKED" propaganda. All problems, vague words, and no real solutions. Observe the following bullet points: If you don't like living in a capitalistic society then you might as well go and mediate for all of your waking hours and search for happiness there. Obesity, jerking off, endless distraction, expensive education and monotonous working life are all parts of the modern world. You have a choice every day to view th…

I was literally making this point on FB the other day in reaction to another women-against-netflix-and-chill post. Asking women on dinner dates first thing is something that died with our grandparents generation. Now, it's considered too strong, which is either a by-product of the hookup culture, or the very reason the hook-up culture exists. People have been Netflix and Chillin' since before Netflix and Chillin; it's just a nuanced way of saying 'hey babe, lets skip the bullshit and make our pa…

As counter-intuitive as it may sound, the fact that women get this vibe from you is a great thing. You've gotta learn to embrace it and run with it (i.e., maintain that frame) because it indicates abundance. Don't ever backtrack or apologize for being who you are, because it does make you look weak, plus it's inauthentic. If you feel you've gone to far or they're taking something the wrong way, laugh it off and change the subject. The fact that you commit to bodybuilding and focus on your own se…

About the broken feeling: I heard a podcast the other day where Paul McCartney expressed that he still has doubts about his own song writing abilities. Let me rephrase that: one of the greatest songwriters of all time still feels doubts about his own song writing. You've gotta understand that women are not the antidote to feeling broken. Feeling broken, incomplete, or being fearful that you'll be exposed as a fraud are integral parts of the human experience. But you've gotta fake it until you ma…

I agree that the ending of the book makes more sense in that it's authentic feeling. The plan was three levels of fucked up, and it's clear in the end that Tyler's will was going to win. The only out for the main character was to blow his brains out. It's like some twisted take on Brave New World. I'm on board with the fact that Tyler is the main character's unrelenting and destructive masculinity brought on by a less-than-ideal father figure and a complete lack of sleep. I think the movie captu…

I view almost anyone over the age of 21 as an equal. We all hit milestones at different times. I personally didn't get laid until I was 22, and had my first real existential crisis at 23 (i.e., "Omg, I'm approaching my mid-20s and I need to start living"). The girl's 25? Go for it. Age is really a poor indicator of behavior when you're in your twenties.

I hadn't been laid in almost a year and a half. Started reading TRP and began applying some theory/techniques on a person I knew who'd become recently single and already had a little bit of interest in me. I started reading TRP about 3 months ago, and got laid in the second month. Working out, not oversleeping and eating decently well go a long way in improving your internal confidence (I was lucky and didn't need to worry about these things). I'm in a similar situation right now where she was texting me all the time, but after I told her I liked her and we fucked, I caught myself going back to beta mode and I was texting her all the time. Sometimes I got decent game out of texting, but other times it just fell flat. I've been ignoring her for the past 3 days, and while it's tough to do at first, I've found myself much more at peace not having to worry about getting a message back.

It's about learning, not about doing things correctly. Put your flamethrower away and at least give him credit for trying. Maybe next time OP should bring an actual book worth studying so he's not trying to fake as much of the scenario.

Thanks for the advice. Something I forgot to mention was that after I told her that, I repeated to her that I can't be friends with women I have affection for, and I'm not going to wait for her to get over some dude. I made it clear that I WILL move on, and the 'friendship' that she seems to treasure will suffer. It had to be better than retaining the role as a 'beta as a pillar of support,' or being pushed into orbit.

Thanks for the constructive feedback. I'm normally a very assertive person who knows what he wants, but it falls apart when it comes to women. This will be good practice for me getting over the fear of rejection. Since I'm graduated now and back in my small hick-town, my goals at this point are: get a job & salary in a city, lift, implement DGAF mentality, rock climbing & martial arts. I'm prepping for good things (and challenges) ahead.
